VAGINAL LAXITY THERAPY UTILIZING CELL-BASED BULKING COMPOSITIONS
20180008647 · 2018-01-11 ·

The invention provides methods for the treatment of vaginal laxity which include delivering a cell-containing composition to the vagina. The composition can include fat tissue to provide a bulking effect to reduce the size of the vaginal opening. The cells can provide healing and revascularization of the vaginal treatment area to sustain the bulking provided by the fat. The invention also provides systems and compositions useful for performing the method, and can include instruments and devices for removal of autologous adipose tissue from a patient (e.g., by liposuction), equipment for the enrichment of cells from adipose tissue, mechanical processing of adipose tissue, and the mixing of cells and processed adipose tissue. Devices for the delivery of the cell compositions to the vagina can also be included in the system.

STENT TO BE INSERTED INTO EUSTACHIAN TUBE FOR TREATMENT OF EUSTACHIAN TUBE DYSFUNCTION
20220409365 · 2022-12-29 ·

This application relates to a stent inserted in an eustachian tube for treatment of eustachian tube dysfunction. In one aspect, the stent includes a pressure controller which blocks the eustachian tube and is opened/closed according to a pressure difference between front and rear portions thereof to control a pressure in the eustachian tube. The stent may also include a eustachian tube expansion portion which is connected to the pressure controller and has a hollow portion passed therein to make a fluid move in back and forth directions of the eustachian tube, and is inserted in the eustachian tube to expand the eustachian tube by transforming a shape thereof in a radial direction of the eustachian tube.

ELECTROSPUN STRUCTURES FOR M1/M2 MACROPHAGE MODULATION AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME

Disclosed herein are methods of controlling a composition of M1/M2 macrophages in a wound of a subject. The method can include applying an electrospun structure to the wound, wherein the electrospun structure comprises a polymer, wherein the polymer comprises an alpha-hydroxy acid, and keeping the electrospun structure on the wound for a time period. The presence of the electrospun structure on the wound causes an increase in presence of M2 macrophages relative to M1 macrophages, which can, in turn, promote healing of the wound.

Medical device with hydrophilic coating

A urinary catheter having an insertable shaft formed from a blend of an ethylene and/or propylene based polymer and water swellable material. The catheter having a hydrophilic coating disposed on the outer surface of the insertable catheter shaft.

USE OF FUNCTIONALIZED AND NON-FUNCTIONALIZED ECMS, ECM FRAGMENTS, PEPTIDES AND BIOACTIVE COMPONENTS TO CREATE CELL ADHESIVE 3D PRINTED OBJECTS

Embodiments of this disclosure relate to bioinks and bioink compositions. These bioinks may be 3D printed into a hydrogel. The printed hydrogel may support primary cell and induced pluripotent stem cell attachment, proliferation, and spreading. Compounds in the bioink may be modified to incorporate chemical functionality, such as by chemical synthesis means. Incorporating chemical functionality may allow the incorporation of modified material as a component in the bioink. The modifications may allow chemical conjugation of a desired component. The desired component may maintain its cell interactive feature to aid in cell attachment and proliferation. Such incorporation may allow modulation of the bioprinted object's mechanical properties without interfering with cell adhesion.

Biomimetic artificial bladder

Provided is an artificial bladder including: a main body which includes an inlet port, an outlet port, and a predetermined reservoir portion configured to store urine between the inlet port and the outlet port and is formed of a biocompatible polymer that is expandable so that a volume of the reservoir portion changes according to the amount of urine; a sensor which is attached to an outer wall of the main body, has a surface having a wrinkled structure, and is provided so that, when the volume of the reservoir portion increases, the wrinkled structure stretches out and resistance of the sensor changes; and an actuator which is provided at the outlet port and is configured to discharge the urine according a result detected by the sensor.

ARTIFICIAL ESOPHAGEAL STRUCTURE HAVING MULTI-LAYER STRUCTURE USING THREE-DIMENSIONAL BIO-PRINTING, AND MANUFACTURING DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

Disclosed are an artificial esophageal structure having a multi-layer structure using three-dimensional bio-printing, and a manufacturing device and manufacturing method therefor. The artificial esophageal structure having a multi-layer structure according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first layer in the shape of a hollow column and having a circular cross section; a second layer which is disposed inside the first layer and which is a column structure that simulates the mucosal layer of the esophagus; and an interlayer support part which is disposed between the first layer and the second layer and which maintains a gap between the layers, wherein the first layer and second layer each comprise: a plurality of column parts disposed at predetermined intervals; and a plurality of strands formed between the plurality of column parts by a dragging technique, and may have a porous structure due to pores between the plurality of strands.

MODIFIED 3D-PRINTED OBJECTS AND THEIR USES

Provided herein are methods which alter the mechanical and biological properties of polymeric materials. Also provided are compositions comprising the polymeric materials having said properties.

Device and methods for treating urothelial conditions
