FLOWABLE COLLAGEN COLLOID AND METHOD OF FORMING
A hemostatic colloid and method of forming a hemostatic colloid for dispensing into a wound site to control bleeding is provided. The hemostatic colloid is comprised of collagen in microfibril, crystalline, powder or granular form and is mixed with a liquid thrombin solution to form a flowable collagen/thrombin hemostatic colloid.
COMPOSITION AND METHODS FOR TREATING ISCHEMIC WOUNDS AND INFLAMMATORY CONDITIONS
Methods, compositions, and treatment protocols for treating ischemic wounds and inflammatory conditions in a patient. The treatment protocols comprise or consist of using a modified collagen gel (MCG) to promote healing of ischemic wounds and reduce inflammation at the wound site and in other inflammatory conditions. The modified collagen gel comprises generally a dispersion of collagens in an aqueous matrix comprising water and glycerine, where the amount of Type I collagen is greater than the amount of Type II and Type III collagens in the gel.
WOUND COVERING AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to a wound covering with prominent biocompatible and accelerated wound-healing and its preparation method thereof. The wound covering comprises a film prepared from collagen and Dopa-containing protein—mussel adhesive protein, which is immobilized on collagen by chemical cross-linking, thus enhances the stability of protein structure and maintains the activity of collagen and mussel adhesive protein. The wound covering has excellent mechanical strength and can be trimmed into any shape; it accelerates tissue epithelisation and promotes wound healing with good biocompatibility, non-adhesive to the wound and no further wound damages.
Wound treatment containing collagen and a gelatin-reducing agent, and method for promoting wound healing
Disclosed is a wound treatment that includes collagen and a gelatin-reducing agent. Also disclosed is a wound dressing including a substrate, collagen, and a gelatin-reducing agent. The collagen and gelatin-reducing agent may be present in any suitable a weight ratio relative to one another, such as a weight ratio of about 0.25:1 to about 4:1 with respect to one another. Also disclosed is a method for promoting wound healing including administering collagen and a gelatin-reducing agent to a wound in need of treatment.
Nanotechnology-based hemostatic dressings
Hemostatic compositions including a combination of more than one hemostatic agent, and devices coated or impregnated therewith, have been developed. Nanotechnology yields hemostatic agents with large surface areas thereof, thereby increasing the hemostatic properties of the device to which they are applied. By combining more than one hemostatic agent and utilizing one or more different nanotechnology approaches to enhance the surface areas thereof, the capability of the dressing to stop bleeding is improved via more than one mechanism, and thus provides better hemostasis.
WOUND DRESSINGS WITH ACID-INDUCED GROWTH FACTOR RELEASE
The present technology generally relates to a biomaterial that includes a thiolated biopolymer and one or more agents that include growth factors, peptides, or combinations thereof, where the one or more agents are conjugated to the thiolated biopolymer. Also disclosed herein are wound dressings that include the biomaterial of the present technology, methods of treating a wound upon application of the wound dressing, and kits including the wound dressing and instructions for use.
Modified collagen, methods of manufacture thereof
The present invention provides a modified collagen comprising S-nitroso groups and a method of manufacture of such a modified collagen. Also provided is a wound dressing comprising such a modified collagen, particularly a wound dressing comprising a formulated composition comprising such a modified collagen.
POWDERED COLLAGEN WOUND CARE COMPOSITIONS
Powdered collagen compositions and methods for wound care or the dressing or treatment of wounds in a subject in need thereof. The powdered collagen wound care composition includes powdered collagen or collagen-based material substantially covered with a hydrophobic barrier. In at least some instances, the hydrophobic barrier prevents the complete absorption or dissolution of the powdered collage or collagen-based material when placed on or in a wound or body of a subject for at least three (3) days. The powdered collagen wound care compositions are suitable for dressing or packing wounds or post-surgical incisions.
MODIFIED COLLAGEN, METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
The present invention provides a method of producing a modified collagen, including the steps of: providing a collagen comprising a S—S bond; introducing a —SH group in said collagen comprising a S—S bond by reduction of the S—S bond to provide a collagen thiol comprising a —SH group; and nitrosating the —SH group of the collagen thiol to provide a modified collagen, said modified collagen comprising S-nitroso groups.
JELLYFISH COLLAGEN USE
The present invention relates to the use of jellyfish collagen in the treatment of wounds and the manufacture of said jellyfish collagen.
