Anisotropic wound closure systems
Novel compositions and systems for closure of wounds are disclosed. The compositions provide devices of improved flexibility and elasticity and are readily applied to wound sites or over wound closure devices. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such compositions. The catalyst provides for rapid curing on topical surfaces such as skin and bonds to such surfaces in about 2-5 minutes.
ANTI-HEMORRHAGING COMPOSITIONS
Composite materials made of a citrate, a calcium carbonate-containing material and an association moiety which is associated with the citrate and the calcium carbonate-containing material are provided. The composite materials are typically particulate materials (e.g., powdery materials). Compositions and articles-of-manufacturing containing and/or configured for applying the composite materials are also provided, as well as their use in inducing blood coagulation and arresting hemorrhage, including internal and/or massive hemorrhage.
NANOSTRUCTURED BINARY GEL COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a plurality of silicate nanoparticles; a hydrophilic polymer; and water, and optionally further comprising a thickening polymer; a plurality of zinc oxide particles; a polymer comprising a plurality of quaternary ammonium functional groups; an adhesive polymer; an oil or a polyol. The invention also relates to a use of the composition in prevention and/or treatment of a disease in a mammal, such as skin disease or mastitis. The invention relates further to a sealant of a duct in a body of a mammal comprising said composition.
Multi-Functional Cleaning and/or Debridement Composition
The present invention relates to a new multifunctional debridement and/or antifouling composition comprising H.sub.2O.sub.2 at a final concentration of between 0.1-5% v/v, and a composite hydrogel formulation comprising pluronic acid at a concentration of 10-40% w/v, wherein the composition is in liquid form at room temperature. The composition disclosed herein is antimicrobial and/or anti-inflammatory and is particular useful in periimplantitis treatment and implant health maintenance, in periodontitis and periodontal health and in wound care and chronic ulcer care.

Removable film forming gel compositions and methods for their application
Film forming gel compositions, useful in creating conformable and flexible gel bandages, can be formulate from a film-forming polymer, a tackifier, and a volatile solvent. The film forming gels can also include antiseptics, cationic polymer coagulants, fillers, and other additives. The gel compositions form relatively thick films when dried on tissue, and can exhibit enhanced breathability to promote wound healing.
BIOADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are citrate-based mussel-inspired bioadhesives and methods of making and using the same. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating wounds.
