The invention provides method for preparing amnion tissue grafts, as well as the grafts themselves. In specific embodiments, the tissue graft comprises a single layer of dried amnion from an umbilical cord.

Compositions containing amniotic components and methods for preparation and use thereof

Compositions are provided that contain biologically active components of amniotic fluid including growth factors and other proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and metabolites. The compositions containing biologically active components of amniotic fluid can be useful for a range of therapeutic treatments including joint and soft tissue repair, regulation of skin condition, and for use in organ preservation, such as for use in organ transplant procedures. Advantages of the compositions include that they can be reproducibly produced, without the inherent variability of amniotic fluid from individual donors, and that they are free of fetal waste.

FETAL DECELLULARIZED NUCLEUS PULPOSUS MATERIAL AND METHODS FOR OBTAINING PHARMACEUTIC COMPOSITIONS TO BE USED IN THE TREATMENT OF INTERVERTEBRAL DISC DEGENERATION AND BACK PAIN

A fetal-origin decellularized nucleus pulposus (NP) allogenic material to regenerate a host's Intervertebral Disc (IVD). The decellularized NP material, obtained from a vertebrate fetus and characterized by comprising high levels of collagen 12 and 14, is used in a pharmacological composition for the treatment of IVD degeneration. The advance is based on the increased ability of the fetal decellularized NP material to stimulate the host constituent cell's to increase the expression of collagen 2 and aggrecan, promoting intrinsic IVD regeneration. A related method includes preparing the pharmaceutical compositions of fetal decellularized material in the form of fragments/microparticles and hydrogel for an injectable mode of administration. The involved material, pharmaceutical compositions and methods may be advantageously used for the prevention and treatment of IVD degeneration and back pain in human and veterinary settings.

Semi-synthetic tissue constructs for tissue regeneration

Methods and compositions for tissue regeneration of the present invention include a biocompatible porous composite of a decellularized tissue and an aptamer-functionalized hydrogel, wherein the aptamers of the aptamer-functionalized hydrogel specifically and reversibly bind to an active agent.
