DAMPING DEVICES, INCLUDING DAMPING DEVICES FOR AUTOMATED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEMS, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
Damping devices, including damping devices for automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) systems, and associated systems, devices, and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a damping device includes a body portion, a first membrane, and a second membrane. The body portion can include a first side, a second side opposite the first side, an inlet, and a cavity fluidly coupled to the inlet. The cavity can be defined at least in part by a lumen in the body portion extending from the first side to the second side. The first membrane can be affixed to the first side of the body portion such that the first membrane hermetically seals the cavity at the first side. The second membrane can be affixed to the second side of the body portion such that the second membrane hermetically seals the cavity at the second side.

Dialysis systems comprising actuators that cooperate to perform dialysis functions and sensors that cooperate to monitor dialysis functions are disclosed. According to one aspect, such a hemodialysis system comprises a user interface model layer, a therapy layer, below the user interface model layer, and a machine layer below the therapy layer. The user interface model layer is configured to manage the state of a graphical user interface and receive inputs from a graphical user interface. The therapy layer is configured to run state machines that generate therapy commands based at least in part on the inputs from the graphical user interface. The machine layer is configured to provide commands for the actuators based on the therapy commands.
Contact protection apparatus for a medical fluid-conducting cassette and cassette
The present disclosure relates to a contact protection apparatus for covering connection point(s) of a medical fluid-conducting cassette used for a medical treatment. The contact protection apparatus includes at least one covering section for covering the connection point before the use of the cassette, and at least one connection section for detachably connecting the contact protection apparatus or for holding the contact protection apparatus on the cassette. It further relates to a medical fluid-conducting cassette with a contact protection apparatus.

Extracorporeal oxygenation system for low flow rates and methods of use
This invention is directed to system and methods for the oxygenation of the blood of a patient, comprising an extracorporeal blood circulation path adapted to be coupled to the patient's vascular system, and comprising apparatus for oxygenating blood flowing therein and withdrawing CO2 therefrom, wherein the flow rate of blood flowing in said extracorporeal blood circulation path does not exceed 2/5 of the patient's blood flow. The extracorporeal blood circulation path preferably comprise a cartridge including an oxygenator and at least one cannula.
PUMP CASSETTE AND METHODS FOR USE IN MEDICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM USING A PLURALITY OF FLUID LINES
A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.
EXTRACORPOREAL BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEM WITH AUGMENTED REALITY DEVICE FOR CHECKING THE ASSEMBLY AND WITH FUNCTION TEST
A method and a device for activating a function of a device, preferably of a medical device. The method includes the steps of: detecting an actual state of the device using a camera, preferably an AR device, which is preferably AR glasses; comparing the actual state of the device with a desired state of the device using a CPU connected to the camera; transmitting, on the basis of the comparison, a command for starting the function of the device or a function test, preferably a function test, from the CPU to the device; and activating the function or the function test of the device on the basis of this command.

METHOD FOR SETTING UP A FLUID PROCESSING MEDICAL APPARATUS
A method for setting-up a fluid processing medical apparatus, the method includes: a) positioning a disposable component intended to be used for therapy with the fluid processing medical apparatus relative to a reader unit by a user; b) reading component related information provided on the disposable component by the reader unit; c) matching the read component related information with component related data stored in a database; and d) providing a selection of suitable therapies for the disposable component to the user based on the matching.
Measuring fluid flow associated with a dialysis machine
A dialysis machine (e.g., a peritoneal dialysis (PD) machine) can include a control unit configured to monitor an amount of fluid withdrawn from a heater bag line during a PD treatment. A processor in the control unit is configured to operate a first pump to draw fluid into a first pump chamber and measure a first fluid volume in the first pump chamber. The processor is further configured to operate the first pump and a second pump to transfer fluid from the first pump chamber to a second pump chamber, measure a second fluid volume in the second pump chamber, and determine a measured fluid volume for a single pump cycle based on the first fluid volume and the second fluid volume. The first fluid volume is correlated to the second fluid volume and, therefore, the multiple independent measurements increase an accuracy of the fluid volume measurement.
