Medical fluid cassettes and related systems
Systems relate to a reusable console system that can be used with a plurality of different types of disposable cassettes. The cassettes may be structured for different therapies, different fluid volumes, among others, or a combination thereof. The disposable cassette may include a plurality of fluid circuits. Each circuit may include a pump chamber disposed along the path. The disposable cassette and the panel of a console may be configured to mate so that each of the one or more actuators of the console align with a pump chamber of the disposable cassette. The console may be configured to control a flow of the fluid in the path in the cassette when the disposable cassette is mated on the panel. Because the console can be mated with different cassettes, the system can efficiently and accurately deliver different medical fluid therapies and/or different patient populations (e.g., pediatric and adult).
SYRINGE-BASED MANUAL EXTRACORPOREAL BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS EMPLOYING BATCH PROCESSING
The disclosure provides a manual blood or body fluid treatment system comprising first and second reservoirs for holding a batch of blood from a patient and a filter for performing an extracorporeal treatment on blood passing therethrough by removing waste molecules and/or fluid. The first reservoir is constructed to be displaced vertically relative to the second reservoir and vice versa, such that a height difference between the first and second reservoirs causes blood or body fluid to flow between the reservoirs due to gravity.
Blood component collection system with pressure detection apparatus having two load detectors and method
A blood component collection cassette, kit, or system, and a flow path internal pressure detection method capable of accurately measuring a circuit internal pressure. A flow path formed in a cassette body has a first line through which blood flows when a blood component separation device is in operation, and a second line through which blood does not flow when the blood component separation device is in operation. The first line has a first pressure-receiving portion pressed by a first load detector. The second line has a second pressure-receiving portion pressed by a second load detector.
Methods and systems for providing red blood cell products with reduced plasma
Methods and systems for processing and conditioning red blood cells are disclosed. The methods and systems may be used to make a readily transfusible red blood cell product with reduced plasma. In general, the plasma content of the supernatant of the red blood cell product is no greater than about 15%. The red blood cell products are prepared using the disclosed methods and systems remain transfusible for up to 42 days.

BLOOD COMPONENT COLLECTION CASSETTE HAVING FLOW CONTROL FEATURES FOR PRESSURE SENSING
Provided is a blood component collection cassette capable of measuring a circuit internal pressure using a simple and economical configuration.
A blood component collection cassette (28) includes an inflow line for sending blood or a blood component collected from a donor to a centrifugal separator (14), a return line for returning a predetermined blood component to the donor, and a line forming member forming one of the inflow line and the return line and having a load detection soft portion made of a soft material.
Magnet-based systems and methods for transferring fluid
A system is provided for pumping fluid, with the system including a fluid pump and a cassette. The pump includes a motor and a piston that is movable toward and away from a flexible diaphragm of the cassette. A linkage connects the motor and the piston to move the piston toward and away from the diaphragm. At least a portion of the piston or the diaphragm is magnetized, with the other having at least a portion that is magnetized or formed of a ferromagnetic material, thereby magnetically coupling the piston and the diaphragm such that movement of the piston moves the diaphragm into and out of a cassette cavity aligned with the diaphragm and piston. Movement of the diaphragm into and out of the cavity changes the effective volume of the cavity, which has the effect of drawing fluid into or forcing fluid out of the cavity.
BLOOD COMPONENT COLLECTION SYSTEM WITH PRESSURE DETECTION APPARATUS HAVING TWO LOAD DETECTORS AND METHOD
Provided is a blood component collection cassette, a blood component collection kit, a blood component collection system, and a flow path internal pressure detection method capable of accurately measuring a circuit internal pressure in negative pressure and positive pressure regions.
A flow path (42) formed in a cassette body (40) of a blood component collection cassette (28) has a first line (42a) through which blood flows when a blood component separation device is in operation, and a second line (42b) through which blood does not flow when the blood component separation device is in operation. A first line forming member (54) is provided with a first pressure-receiving portion (60) pressed by a first load detector (88) attached to the blood component separation device. A second line forming member (56) is provided with a second pressure-receiving portion (62) pressed by a second load detector (90) attached to the blood component separation device.
Apparatus for performing haemodialysis
An apparatus for performing haemodialysis on a patient comprises: first blood transfer means (3) for selectively withdrawing blood from a patient and storing it in a first storage portion (5); second blood transfer means (11) for removing filtered blood from a filtration device (7) and storing it in a second storage portion (13); and a fluid measurement system (51a, 51b) for periodically measuring the respective volumes of blood in the first and second storage portions; adding the volume of blood in the first storage portion to the volume of blood in the second storage portion at that time in order to calculate the total volume of blood within the first and second storage portions at that time; and comparing the total measured volumes of blood within the first and second storage portions measured over a predetermined time interval to calculate the volume of fluid removed from the blood during that predetermined time interval.

A blood component collection cassette includes an inflow line for sending blood or a blood component collected from a donor to a centrifugal separator, a return line for returning a predetermined blood component to the donor, and a line forming member forming one of the inflow line and the return line and having a load detection soft portion made of a soft material.
