Canister lid
A lid of molded plastic construction, includes a lid body and a cap attached to the lid body by a tether. The tether is substantially continuous with an adjacent peripheral edge of the lid body, with a tear zone between the tether and the adjacent peripheral edge of the lid body formed during molding of the lid. The tear zone is disruptable by application of a tearing pressure to free the tether from the peripheral edge.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO FACILITATE PLEURODESIS FOR MANAGEMENT OF FLUID DRAINAGE
A device, method, and system are provided for treating pleural effusion by administration of a chemical agent through a pleural catheter to achieve pleurodesis. A first embodiment includes a dual barreled syringe to deliver the sclerosing agent; one barrel includes a sclerosing agent, and the other barrel includes a flushing fluid. A kit of the invention comprises a plurality of syringe devices each preloaded with a sclerosing agent matched with a presumptive diagnosis regarding the etiology of the pleural effusion to be treated. A device of the invention includes a handheld, disposable, electronic delivery device with preloaded chambers holding selected medicaments and flushing fluid. Automatic delivery of medicaments is achieved in which a microcontroller of the device controls evacuation of the selected chambers by one or more actuators that communicate with the chambers.
THORACIC CATHETER DEVICE
A thoracic catheter system comprises a flexible thoracic catheter for inserting into a thoracic cavity of a human. A distal end of the thoracic catheter has a plurality of apertures. A proximate end of the thoracic catheter is designed to extend out of the thoracic cavity. A three way valve is one of fused with and removablely attached to the proximal end of the thoracic catheter.
DRAINAGE SYSTEM WITH RETENTION RING
In one general aspect, the present disclosure provides a drainage system. The drainage system may include a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth having an outer surface and an opening. A frangible seal may cover the opening. A cap may be secured to the mouth, and the cap may be in fluid communication with a drainage line. The cap may have an inner surface for engaging with the outer surface of the mouth. The drainage system may further include a retention ring with a collar having an inner surface configured to engage an outer surface of the cap, where the retention ring includes a bead for at least partially concentrating a restriction force provided by the retention ring on an adjacent area of the outer surface of the cap.
Evacuated bottle system
An evacuated bottle system including a bottle defining a hollow interior, the bottle having a neck with a rim defining an opening; a cap assembly supported on the bottle, the cap assembly including a funnel having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being insertable within the interior of the bottle and the second portion engaging a portion of the bottle to support the funnel above the rim, the funnel defining a bore that fluidly communicates with the hollow interior of the bottle; a self-sealing membrane that covers the bore formed by the funnel to selectively seal the hollow interior of the bottle; a cap attachable to the bottle, the cap including a cover portion that extends at least partially over the self-sealing membrane to restrain movement thereof, the cover portion being axially spaced from the self-sealing membrane to define a gap that permits axial movement of the self-sealing membrane to selectively open the bottle to fluid communication outside of the bottle.
Manual flow regulation for blood collection
A specimen collection assembly including a flow control member for adjustably altering a flow path is disclosed. In one configuration, the flow control member defines a regulation channel in fluid communication with a lumen of a cannula, wherein the flow control member is configured to adjustably alter an effective flow distance between the lumen of the cannula and an interior of an evacuated collection container. In another configuration, the flow control member is positioned to vary an effective cross-sectional area of at least one of an inlet port and an outlet port adapted to be in fluid communication with the lumen and the evacuated collection container.
System for drainage of fluids or wound secretion
The invention relates to a system for drainage of fluids or wound secretion from body and/or tissue openings of the human or animal body comprising a bag-like reservoir for collecting the fluid or wound secretion, with an upper inlet opening and a lower outlet opening, and a pre-evacuated container with an inlet opening, wherein the inlet opening of the pre-evacuated container is connected to the lower outlet opening of the bag-shaped reservoir.
DRAINAGE DEVICE FOR DRAINING FLUIDS AND/OR WOUND SECRETION FROM THE THROAT AREA, NOSE AREA OR EAR AREA OF A PATIENT, IN PARTICULAR FOR USE AFTER A SURGICAL INTERVENTION IN THE CERVICAL AREA OF THE PATIENT OR IN NEUROLOGY
A method for operating an elastically mounted forming machine which is path-bound or force-dependent, in which method a working stroke of a ram device operatively connected to the drive is initiated by means of a drive, and a predefined forming process is carried out on a workpiece by moving the ram device during said working stroke, in particular due to the interaction of an upper tool located on the ram device with a lower tool located on a tool table, wherein the inertial forces and/or moments of inertia occurring during operation owing to the initiation of the working stroke and/or owing to an imbalance in the drive are at least partially compensated. The method, wherein at least one kinematic variable (s(t),v(t),a(t)) of a rigid body motion of the elastically mounted forming machine is detected during the operation thereof, wherein the time at which the working stroke is initiated is adapted to an instantaneous phase position of the at least one kinematic variable (s(t),v(t),a(t)) of the rigid body motion in order to generate inertial forces and/or moments of inertia so as to counteract the rigid body motion of the forming machine.
Surgical drain system and container
A portable drain system having a subdermal drain and a container in fluid communication with the subdermal drain is disclosed. The subdermal drain is configured to drain fluid from a surgical site. The container provides a negative pressure to the subdermal drain. The container draws and receives the fluid. The container includes at least one sensor in which the at least one sensor is configured to detect at least one of fluid color, fluid volume in the container, and orientation of the container.
Drainage system with retention ring
In one general aspect, the present disclosure provides a drainage system. The drainage system may include a container having an interior and a mouth, the mouth having an outer surface and an opening.
