20210228416 · 2021-07-29 ·

Devices and methods for wound treatment are disclosed. A chamber may define a treatment space having an interior engineered surface including a plurality of structures configured to provide pathways for the distribution of negative pressure and to exert mechanical stress on a wound. In some specific embodiments, the devices and methods may treat wounds on the head, neck, and face. One or more tubes may be in fluid communication with the treatment space to facilitate the application of negative pressure, the introduction of therapeutic agents, and the removal of wound material.

Device for drainage, in particular for the drainage of a chronic subdural hematoma

A device for drainage includes a tubular reservoir having a tubular pliable wall, a rigid cover, and a rigid bottom, and also includes at least one spring which applies a force that presses the cover and the bottom apart, wherein the cover is movable in the direction of the bottom in order to place the spring into a start position. One or more magnets are configured such that the magnets apply an additional force on the reservoir in such a way that a resulting force pressing the cover and the bottom apart is substantially constant across as the spring is deflected.

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for reduced pressure tissue therapy. Some variations of suction devices for reduced pressure tissue therapy comprise a housing, a suction force generating mechanism located within the housing, and a storage module configured to retain tissue exudates. In some variations, the storage module includes a sleeve configured to collect tissue exudates. The sleeve may include a support element to help maintain the lateral structural integrity of the sleeve and/or retain the cross-sectional geometry of the sleeve under negative pressure. In use, the storage module may reduce sanitary and/or biohazard risks by preventing the exudates from contacting the housing and/or suction force generating mechanism. The storage module is configured to be replaced so that the housing and suction force generating mechanism can be used for more than one session.

Negative pressure wound therapy apparatus and methods

A device and method for treating a wound of a patient with negative pressure is provided. The device comprises a pump chamber that has at least one moveable side of the chamber. The moveable side moves between an intake stroke and an exhaust stroke upon application of an electrical potential. Fluid is drawn into the pump chamber during the intake stroke and expelled from the pump chamber during the exhaust stroke. The pump system may have a magnetic or a piezoelectric element that drives the movement of the pump chamber side.

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS MACHINE

The present invention relates to a peritoneal dialysis machine having means for carrying out a peritoneal dialysis treatment, wherein the machine has a drain line which is connected or connectable to the patient catheter and through which consumed dialysis solution is conducted into a drain, wherein the drain line does not open into a drainage bag and wherein the drain line is connected at an opening to a venting line by means of which the venting line can be vented, with a sterile filter being arranged in the drain line upstream of the opening and/or in the venting line and with a cut-off means by means of which the drain line can be cut off at times is provided in the drain line upstream of the opening.

System and method for applying reduced pressure at a tissue site

The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to a manually-actuated pump and method for applying reduced pressure at a tissue site. The manually-actuated pump includes at least one variable volume chamber that is manually compressible into a plurality of positions. The manually-actuated pump includes a fixed volume chamber in communication with the at least one variable volume chamber. The manually-actuated pump also includes a filter housing having a hydrophobic filter that prevents liquid from entering the at least one variable volume chamber. The fixed volume chamber is coupled to the at least one variable volume chamber via the filter housing. The filter housing is located in between the at least one variable volume chamber and the fixed volume chamber. The fixed volume chamber has reduced pressure that is applied to the tissue site in response to a movement of the at least one variable volume chamber from a compressed position in the plurality of positions to an uncompressed position in the plurality of positions.

VACUUM ASSISTED DRAINAGE RESERVOIR AND SYSTEMS

Devices used to drain fluid are disclosed. The devices may be configured to drain fluid from a body cavity using a vacuum pressure. The devices include a reservoir and a vacuum generating member configured to expand the reservoir and generate a vacuum pressure within the reservoir. The devices can be configured to be shipped in a collapsed state.

SKIN CLEANSING DEVICE HAVING INTERCHANGEABLE CLEANSING HEADS

A skin cleansing device has a base body and a removable cleansing head. The base body houses a vacuum pump and has a mount for connecting to the removable cleansing head. The mount has an opening into the base body and a support surface. The removable cleansing head has a collection portion and a mounting portion. The collection portion defines an inlet and an internal cavity. The mounting portion has a stem defining a channel fluidly connected to the internal cavity. The cleansing head is removably connectable to the base body with the stem being configured to be received in the opening of the mount. The vacuum pump is configured to generate a fluid flow through the internal cavity and the channel into the base body such that a suction force is generated at the inlet.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING EXUDATES

A reduced pressure treatment system includes a porous pad positioned at a tissue site and a canister having a collection chamber, an inlet, and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly connected to the porous pad. A reduced pressure source is fluidly connected to the outlet of the canister to such that fluid from the tissue site may be drawn into the collection chamber. A hydrophobic filter is positioned adjacent the outlet to prevent liquid from exiting the collection chamber through the outlet. A baffle is positioned within the canister to create a tortuous path between the inlet and the outlet to prevent premature blocking of the hydrophobic filter.
