The inhaler comprises: a housing for accommodating unused and used portions of the at least one blister pack together with a dispensing mechanism for simultaneously opening at least two blister pockets at a time; and a manifold component through which air can be drawn in use of the inhaler. The manifold component comprises: first and second air inlet openings for receiving external air a first air outlet opening for providing the external air to a first opened blister pocket and a first medicament inlet opening for receiving air-entrained medicament from the first opened blister pocket, the first air outlet opening and the first medicament inlet opening being arranged side-by-side to enable simultaneous communication with the first opened blister pocket; a second air outlet opening for providing the external air to a second opened blister pocket and a second medicament inlet opening for receiving air-entrained medicament from the second opened blister pocket, the second air outlet opening and the second medicament inlet opening being arranged side-by-side to enable simultaneous communication with the second opened blister pocket; and a medicament outlet opening for delivery of the air-entrained medicament from the first and second opened blister pockets to the user, the first and second medicament inlet openings being fluidly connected to the medicament outlet opening by a medicament delivery conduit formed in the manifold component. The first and second air inlet openings are fluidly connected to the first and second air outlet openings by respective first and second air conduits in the manifold component, wherein the air conduits are separately provided so that the external air from each of the first and second air inlet openings does not mix with the external air from the other of the first and second air inlet openings before reaching the first and second opened blister pockets.

Multi-Carrier Medicament Dispensers

The invention of the present disclosure relates to a medicament dispenser for dispensing medicament from a plurality of elongate form medicament carriers, the dispenser comprising a dispensing mechanism for dispensing the medicament held within the dispenser, wherein the dispensing mechanism is capable of independently advancing each medicament carrier held within the dispenser, the dispensing mechanism comprising a driver, a carrier engagement for each medicament carrier for individually advancing the medicament dose portions thereof, an advancer for each carrier engagement, a flow director capable of dispensing a medicament dose from a plurality of medicament carriers, and a cover for the medicament access body operating as a component of the dispenser actuation mechanism.

Compliance-assisting module for an inhaler

An inhaler includes a mouthpiece cover, a pressure sensor, a first indicator and a second indicator. The first indicator may be configured to indicate based on a state of the cover, and the second indicator may be configured to indicate based on an output of the pressure sensor. For example, when the mouthpiece cover opens, the first indicator may illuminate and a dose of medication may be transferred from a reservoir to a dosing cup. The second indicator may illuminate if an amount of inhaled medication reaches a predetermined threshold for successful inhalation.

INTEGRATED DOSE COUNTER

An indicating device includes a mechanical dose counter adapted to count the number of doses that have been dispensed from or remain in a container and an electronic module coupled to the mechanical dose counter and adapted to record when the doses have been dispensed from the container. Methods of using and assembling the device are also provided.

Compliance monitor

This invention relates to a compliance monitor for monitoring patient usage of a medicament delivery device, where the medicament delivery device includes a store of medicament and a medicament dispensing means. The compliance monitor includes a housing adapted to enclose the medicament delivery device, and a dose counter, associated with the housing, for recording the delivery of a dose of medicament to the patient from the medicament delivery device. The arrangement and construction is such that the housing is loosely coupled to the medicament delivery device, whereby the housing is able to move relative to the medicament delivery device during the delivery of the dose of medicament, and it is this movement which actuates the dose counter, either directly or indirectly, in order to record the delivery of the dose of medicament.

Assembly for a Drug Delivery Device

The present disclosure concerns an assembly for a drug delivery device (1)comprising a housing (3), a first abutment surface (64), a second abutment surface (21), and a detachable member (7) which is detachable from the housing (3) and attachable to the housing (3), wherein the assembly is configured such that, during detachment of the detachable member (7) from the housing (3) for an Nth time, N being a predetermined number, the first abutment surface (64) is brought into abutment with the second abutment surface (21), wherein the assembly is configured such that, when the first abutment surface (64) abuts with the second abutment surface (21), the detachable member (7) is enabled to be reattached to the housing (3) and, afterwards, the detachable member (7) is prevented from being detached from the housing (3).

Dry Powder Medicament Inhaler

A dry powder inhaler for delivering medicament from at least one medicament carrier having a plurality of spaced-apart medicament doses. The inhaler includes a housing having regions for accommodating unused and used portions of the medicament carrier, a mouthpiece component extending from the housing and through which a user is able to inhale, a dispensing mechanism arranged in the housing for moving a medicament dose of the medicament carrier to the dispensing position, and a mouthpiece cover being rotatably connected to the housing for sequential movement about a rotation axis from a first position in which the mouthpiece component is completely covered to a second position in which the mouthpiece component is completely covered, and from the second position to a third position in which the mouthpiece component is completely uncovered, the second position being between the first and third positions.

Nebulizer

A nebulizer is proposed which comprises a replaceable container containing fluid, a housing part detachable from the nebulizer for replacing the container, and an operation counter inseparable from the housing part as depicted in exemplary FIG. 10. The operation counter comprises a lead screw and an associated rider both supported by the housing part.

RESPIRATORY THERAPY APPARATUS

An expiratory, vibratory therapy device (100, 200 300, 400) includes a compliance meter (104, 204, 304, 404) having a cylinder (110, 210, 310, 410) with a piston (111, 211, 411) movable along its length. The piston is urged by a spring (116, 226) to one end of the cylinder. The opposite end of the cylinder has an air inlet (120, 123, 219) normally closed by a springloaded occluder (129). The occluder (129) is moved to open the air inlet when the patient exhales in the prescribed manner. This allows some air to enter the cylinder and enables the piston to be displaced. The piston is coupled to a flag (106, 206, 306, 406) visible to the patient. When the correct number of prescribed breaths have been made the piston displaces the flag to indicate completion of the therapy.

MONITOR FOR A MEDICAMENT INHALER

Adherence monitors are disclosed, incorporating cap removal sensors together with a determined time period in order to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. In another form, cap removal data is combined with acoustic data to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. Several specific structural arrangements are also disclosed.
