A non-ventilator ET tube cap used to oxygenate a patient during an intubation procedure. The ET tube cap generally comprises an oxygen source connector configured to connect to an oxygen source via an oxygen tube. This provides oxygen to a patient via an ET tube while being intubated. The ET tube cap further includes an ET tube receiving aperture that is specifically arranged to engage an ET tube in a removable relationship prior to the ET tube connected to a ventilator while the ET tube is deployed in a patient. Optionally, the ET tube cap can comprise at least two pressure relief valves that open when pressure inside of the ET tube cap exceeds a predetermined pressure threshold to prevent harm to the patient that is being intubated.

Expandable Inter Vivos Tube

An expandable inter-vivos tube that allows for the use in medical procedures while limiting known complications arising from conventional inter-vivos tubes is presented, wherein the expandable inter-vivos tube comprises a slit formed longitudinally within a tube and a plurality of nipples extending from an outer surface of the tube that are insertable within a corresponding one of a plurality of slides within an outer slidable element that is slidable within the slit. A position of the nipples within the slots causes a distance between the edges of the to increase; thus, increasing a circumference of the inter-vivos tube as the outer element is slide from a proximal end of the tube element to a distal end of the tube.

Aspects are directed to an improved suction catheter that increases the effectiveness of clearing the airway, reducing the need for separate suctioning and foreign body grasping instruments. The embodiments described herein provide medical personnel the ability to use one hand and catheter to selectively grasp an anatomically lodged foreign body while reducing the likelihood of lumen blockage and interruption of suction. The embodiments described herein further provide an auxiliary access port that allows insertion of a bougie instrument into a suction catheter. The suction catheter may be a Yankauer device or improved suction catheter with grasping housing. The bougie instrument may extend through the access port and a lumen of the catheter while still providing suction via the lumen. Due to the small size of the suction catheter, the bougie instrument may extend from the catheter's distal end when placed in close proximity to a patient's vocal cords.

ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE APPLIED TO BUILT-IN VIDEO ENDOSCOPE AND CAPABLE OF FULL-TIME VIDEO MONITORING
20220355054 · 2022-11-10 ·

An endotracheal tube with built-in video endoscope function for full-time video monitoring comprises a tubular body and an optical stylet. The tubular body is placed in the trachea of a patient. A front end of the tubular body is connected to a ventilator, and an inflatable bag is provided at a rear end of the tubular body. A primary channel of the tubular body runs through the front and rear ends, so that the ventilator supplies oxygen to the trachea through the primary channel. Each secondary channel of the tubular body includes a front opening located at a side edge of the tubular body and a rear opening arranged at the rear end. The optical stylets run through the secondary channels, respectively. Each optical stylet includes a camera device coupled to a display, which comes out from the rear opening to capture a video in the trachea of the patient.
