Nasal Right Angle Endotracheal (RAE) Tube Protective Tip and Method of Use
A tube protective sheath or tip is provided for use with a nasal RAE tube in order to minimize bleeding and trauma often associated with passage of a nasal RAE tube through the nasal cavity. The tube protective sheath or tip includes a hollow cylindrical portion that extends and fits snugly over the tube tip of the nasal RAE tube. A tapered, pointed, or rounded distal portion is connected to the hollow cylindrical portion. As the nasal RAE tube is inserted through the patient's nasal cavity, the nasal RAE tube protective sheath or tip spreads the passages gently and smoothly, allowing the nasal RAE tube to follow it into the pharynx. Strings or extensions are attached to the tube protective sheath or tip and are used to prevent loss of the protective tip in the patient's nasal cavity, pharynx, or trachea during the intubation process.
Swivel connector endotracheal tube for surgery on lower face and neck
An endotracheal tube that is particularly useful for surgical operations on a patient's lower face. The endotracheal tube comprises a swivel segment and a laryngeal segment that are rotatably joined. To facilitate relocation of the endotracheal tube during surgery, the swivel segment can be swiveled in relation to the laryngeal segment. To allow instruments to be inserted, the swivel segment has a lumen access port that opens into the lumen of the swivel segment. The laryngeal segment may have a reinforced portion to prevent occlusion or damage by the patient biting. Also disclosed are methods for performing surgery on a patient's face using the endotracheal tube and methods of intubating a patient's airway using the endotracheal tube.
BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
A CPAP system for supplying humidified gases to a user is disclosed in which various interfaces are described for gas delivery. A mask cushion including a deformable cushion and thin sheath is described.
ARTIFICIAL AIRWAY DEVICE
The invention relates to an artificial airway device to facilitate lung ventilation of a patient, comprising an airway tube, a gastric drain tube and a mask at one end of the airway tube, the mask including a backplate and having a peripheral formation capable of forming a seal around the circumference of the laryngeal inlet, the peripheral formation surrounding a hollow interior space or lumen of the mask and the airway tube opening into the lumen of the mask, wherein the mask includes an atrium for passage to the gastric drain tube of gastric matter leaving the oesophagus.
DEVICE FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURE LOCALIZATION AND/OR INSERTION
A device (100) for medical procedure localization and/or insertion that can be dimensionally adjusted for different patient sizes and properly aligned and stabilized using anatomical landmarks. The device (100) for medical procedure localization and/or insertion provides an adjustable template that indexes the site of interest at the intersection of a first axis or plane and a second axis or plane. An embodiment is disclosed in which a first axis is the axillary line through the patient's axilla (armpit) and iliac crest (pelvis), and a second axis is the patient's ideal horizontal nipple line. The intersection of the first and second axes is the 4th or 5th intercostal space, into which a needle and/or chest tube may be placed for decompression.
A CLAMP FOR A BRONCHOSCOPE OR THE LIKE
A clamp for inter alia a bronchoscope, the clamp comprising a spine with frame which has a channel through which a tube of inter alia the bronchoscope is received. The frame includes clamping means to grip the tube within the frame to fix it in position. The clamping is releasable to allow further movement of the tube relative to the frame.
Surgical Tool with Retractable Blade and Bougie Passage and a Method of Use Thereof
A surgical tool has an elongate tool body that supports a retractable scalpel blade at a working end of the tool body. A bougie passage extends through the tool body to receive a bougie slidable longitudinally through the passage in the tool body. The tool body may be a single scalpel handle, or a pair of forceps. In either instance, the tool may be used to perform a cricothyrotomy procedure on patient or introduce a thoracostomy tube into a patient. In each instance, the scalpel blade forms an incision, followed by retraction of the blade and insertion of the bougie while the tool remains inserted into the patient. After removal of the tool, the bougie is used to guide subsequent insertion of a tube into the patient.
Endotracheal intubation devices
The endoscope herein described has a unique steering capability allowing the highly flexible distal end of the shaft of the device to be moved to a full range angular positions without rotating the device on its long axis, thus enabling the device to be steered within the cavity of interest. The relative lengths of the control cables used to move the distal end of the bendable shaft can be changed whenever the flexible or malleable shaft is to be re-shaped to a new configuration thus preventing the distal end or the steering mechanism from assuming an undesired angular position. When used as an endotracheal device, a novel tongue retractor is described which forms an internal conduit, allowing passage of the bendable shaft of the endotracheal intubation device and an endotracheal tube therethrough. Methods for performing a tracheal intubation and changing the relative lengths of the cables are disclosed.
Articulating stylet
An articulating stylet usable with a tracheal intubation system is disclosed. Methods for using the articulating stylet and systems that incorporate the articulating stylet are also disclosed. In some examples, a stylet adapted for mounting an endotracheal tube comprises a shaft and a control wire. The shaft comprises a distal shaft portion, a proximal shaft portion, and an expanding connection joining the distal shaft portion to the proximal shaft portion. The proximal shaft portion has a body portion and a tip portion. The tip portion includes a tip and has greater flexibility than the body portion. The control wire is at least partially disposed within both the distal shaft portion and the proximal shaft portion and is configured to cause the tip portion of the proximal shaft portion to deform.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL BALLOON DILATATION CATHETER FOR INTRACORPOREAL MEMBRANE OXYGENATION AND USAGE METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed is a multifunctional balloon dilatation catheter for intracorporeal membrane oxygenation, comprising: a catheter hub, a dilatation balloon, and M channels. The M channels comprise at least a balloon dilatation channel for dilating the narrowed part of the airway, a positioning & detection channel for positioning or detecting while inserting, a supply channel for continuous oxygen supply or drug administration to the patient, and a secretion removal channel for removing secretions from the airway. The catheter hub is a multi-channel connection device, through which the M channels are respectively connected to the external therapeutic devices of the catheter. The catheter is inserted into a bronchiole of the lungs. When using the catheter for emergency treatment of patients with pneumonia, especially COVID-19, measures such as airway dilatation, oxygen supply, sputum suction and biopsy can be simultaneously performed, thereby improving the survival rate of patients and reducing lung damage.
