Methods and systems for anesthetic agent leakage diagnostics

Methods and systems are provided for anesthetic agent leakage diagnostics. In one embodiment, a method for diagnosing leaks in an anesthetic vaporizer includes calculating a leakage rate based on measurements of an anesthetic agent level in a sump of the anesthetic vaporizer, the measurements received from a fluid level sensor at a first time and a second time, and outputting a maintenance alert responsive to the leakage rate exceeding a threshold.

REMOTE CONFIGURATION OF A RESPIRATORY DEVICE

The present technology relates to systems and/or methods for enabling a respiratory device to be configured when a clinician or healthcare professional is remote from the respiratory device. One form provides a method of configuring a respiratory device, the respiratory device comprising a processor configured to control operation of the respiratory device in accordance with a plurality of operating parameters. The method comprises determining a combination of settings for the device from an identifier sent to the device, the identifier corresponding to the combination of settings, and configuring the respiratory device accordingly. Another form provides a method of verifying the configuration of the respiratory device by outputting an identifier corresponding to the combination of settings for the device, and determining the settings from the identifier.

Disclosed is an NO delivery device for supplying an NO-containing gas, including an NO injection line, a flow rate measurement device and a valve device. The valve device is normally closed. An emergency line connected to the injection line includes an emergency solenoid valve, which is normally open, and a flow rate control device. An operating unit operates these elements. In the event of malfunction of the operating unit, the emergency solenoid valve passes to an open position, whilst the valve device passes to a closed position. The flow rate control device supplies the gas at a pre-fixed emergency flow rate of gas, determined on the basis of the gas flow rate measurements supplied by the flow rate measurement device during the normal functioning of the device prior to the malfunction. Gas supply installation including such an NO delivery device and a medical ventilator.

Flow path sensing for flow therapy apparatus

A respiratory flow therapy apparatus including a sensor module can measure a flow rate of gases or gases concentration provided to a patient. The sensor module can be located after a blower and/or mixer. The sensor module can include at least an ultrasonic transmitter, a receiver, a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, a humidity sensor and/or a flow rate sensor. The receivers can be immersed in the gases flow path. The receivers can cancel delays in the transmitters and improve accuracy of measurements of characteristics of the gases flow. The receivers can allow for detection of a fault condition in a blower motor of the apparatus.
