Opioid overdose monitoring

An overdose of opioids can cause the user to stop breathing, resulting in death. A physiological monitoring system monitors respiration based on oxygen saturation readings from a fingertip pulse oximeter in communication with a smart mobile device and sends opioid monitoring information from the smart mobile device to an opioid overdose monitoring service. The opioid overdose monitoring service notifies a first set of contacts when the opioid monitoring information.

A drug overdose detection apparatus that is configured to measure the blood oxygen level of a user and upon detection in a drop thereof provide administration of a substance to counteract the drug overdose. The present invention includes a housing that is configured to be worn by a user has an interior volume. Disposed in the interior volume of the housing is a substance administration assembly wherein the substance administration assembly includes a syringe member, a plunger member and a plunger driver. A motor is operably coupled to the plunger driver and facilitates movement thereof. A spring needle assembly is operably coupled to the substance administration assembly and includes a spring biased needle that is operable to inject into a patient so as to inject the substance. The present invention further includes an audio alarm and transceiver configured to provide alerts and transmit signals.

Medicament delivery device

The present disclosure relates to a medicament delivery device. The medicament delivery device comprises a housing, a needle and a reservoir. The needle is configured to project from a distal end of the housing. The reservoir is disposed in the housing and has a flexible wall. The medicament delivery device further comprises a dispensing member and a biasing member. The dispensing member is disposed in the housing and the biasing member is configured to bias the dispensing member to move in an arcuate path relative to the housing such that the dispensing member moves across the flexible wall of the reservoir to dispense medicament from the reservoir when the reservoir contains medicament.

Smart wearable injection and/or infusion device

A delivery device for delivering a medical fluid to a patient has a housing configured for receiving a container at least partially filled with the medical fluid. The delivery device further has a drive mechanism associated with the housing configured for delivering the medical fluid from the container to the patient in a dosing procedure. The delivery device further has a module configured for detecting at least one of a property of the dosing procedure and a property of the medical fluid. The module has at least one dose detection sensor configured for detecting an initiation, progression, and completion of the dosing procedure based on a position of a stopper within the container. The module further has at least one temperature sensor configured for measuring a temperature of the medical fluid within the container based on a temperature of the container.

Dual needle delivery system that connects and deploys needles of a medication delivery device

A medication delivery patch that is applied to the skin and activated to deliver a medication or other fluid into or through the skin. The patch may be completely mechanically driven, with no electronic components, for low cost, safety, and reliability. Pressing an activation button may set in motion a sequence of mechanical events that result in a needle exiting the patch into the skin of the user, and flow of fluid from an internal pouch in the patch into the user. When delivery is complete, another sequence of mechanical events may occur to retract the needle from the skin and stop the flow of fluid, and to show a visible indicator that delivery is complete. The patch may contain a fluid channel, such as a microfluidic channel, that controls the rate and time of delivery; this channel can be configured or selected for different medications or use cases.

BACKUP NOTIFICATIONS IN A MEDICAL DEVICE SYSTEM

Techniques disclosed herein relate generally to notification generation in a medical device system. In some embodiments, the techniques involve generating a first notification via a medical application executing on a first device, determining that the first notification was not acknowledged within a predetermined time frame, and causing generation of a second notification at a medical device carried by a user to notify the user that the first notification has not been acknowledged.

INNER STRUCTURE OF A MEDICAL FLUID PUMP

A medical fluid pump, such as a syringe pump or infusion pump, includes a housing, a front flap hinged to a front side of the housing, and a carrying handle pivotally connected to opposite first and second side surfaces. The carrying handle is pivotable from a storage position to a carrying position in which the carrying handle is disposed above the housing. A plurality of electrical and mechanical components, which are contained within the housing, are necessary for all of the intended functions of the medical fluid pump. A selection of components from the electrical and mechanical components are provided as tare elements, placed within the housing such that a center of gravity of the medical fluid pump is substantially below the carrying handle in the carrying position.

A physiological monitoring system monitors respiration based on oxygen saturation readings from a fingertip pulse oximeter in communication with a smart mobile device and sends opioid monitoring information from the smart mobile device to an opioid overdose monitoring service. The opioid overdose monitoring service notifies a first set of contacts when the opioid monitoring information indicates a non-distress stats and notifies a second set of contact when the opioid monitoring information indicates an overdose event. The notification can be a phone call or text message to a specified person, emergency personnel, or first responders, and can include the location of the smart mobile device. The smart mobile device can also include the location of the nearest treatment center having emergency medication used in treating opioid overdose, such as naloxone.
