DEVICES AND METHODS FOR NEEDLE DISPOSAL
Provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for disposal of needles. In particular, provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for safe and efficient disposal of medical and research needles.
Retractable needle assemblies
A retractable needle assembly (1) is disclosed comprising a body portion (10); a needle (50) having a forward end (52) and being movable between an operable orientation in which the forward end projects forwardly from the body portion, and a safe orientation in which said forward end (52) is retracted into the body portion (50). The needle assembly further comprises a deflector (70) mounted in the body portion (50), which is moveable between a first position and a second position, wherein the movement of the deflector (70) between its first and second position urges the needle into its safe orientation, the deflector being biased towards the second position; a latching mechanism which holds the deflector in the first position; and an actuator (90), operable to release the latching mechanism.
Systems, Apparatuses, And Methods For Rendering Drugs Unusable, Irretrievable, And Suitable For Non-Regulated Waste Disposal
Apparatuses and systems are provided which include one or more receptacles for receiving drugs and further include one or more stored supplies of one or more absorbent materials comprising crosslinkers, wherein the apparatus and systems are adapted to release the absorbent materials comprising crosslinkers into the one or more receptacles. A method is provided which includes depositing a drug into a predetermined amount of fluid and adding to the drug containing fluid a absorbent material comprising crosslinkers which is capable of encapsulating the drug containing fluid and possibly killing infectious materials within the fluid and/or denaturing the drug within the fluid.

Device for cutting, separation, and discharge of syringe
A device for cutting, separation, and discharge of a syringe according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a barrel unit, a main body including a driving unit configured to rotate the barrel unit, and a cutting body configured to cut a needle portion of a syringe during rotation of the barrel unit, wherein transfer of the syringe inserted into the barrel unit, cutting of the needle portion, discharge of the needle portion, and discharge of a syringe main body are performed by only one rotation of the barrel unit.
A needle cutting device for cutting an injector needle
The present disclosure provides a needle cutting device for cutting an injector needle. The needle cutting device includes a housing extending along a longitudinal axis between a first open end and a second end. The needle cutting device also includes a cutter assembly aligned with the housing along the longitudinal axis, wherein the cutter assembly comprises a blade and a cutter body. The housing comprises a wall that defines a cavity, the cavity extending between the first open end of the housing and the second end of the housing. A blade support portion of the cutter body is wider than the cavity, so that when the cutter body is moved into the cavity, the wall of the housing pushes the blade support portion in the radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis so that the blade is moved towards the longitudinal axis.
Disposable safety self-destruction insulin needle
The present invention discloses a disposable safety self-destruction insulin needle. The invention uses a sleeve-connected linkage structure and realizes an instant reset of the safety sleeve by means of the spring located in the middle axis so as to ensure that the needle tube is not exposed and preferably realizes a tilting and deflection of the self-destruction pressure base due to a plurality of flexible plates unevenly distributed on the inner wall in the needle base so as to finally ensure that the insulin needle cannot be used a second time, in so doing the safety self-destruction operation of the insulin needle is realized.
Medical waste disposal and container washing system
A medical waste disposal and container washing system includes loading and unloading stations, the loading station configured for placing a medical waste container on a conveyor system. An inversion station is located downstream along the conveyor system, operable to reorient the container from a first orientation in which medical waste is retained to a second orientation in which the medical waste is discharged from the medical waste container by gravity as the medical waste container is moved within the inversion station. A first wash station along the conveyor system washes an interior of the container that has been reoriented. A second wash station is located downstream along the conveyor system.
