The present invention relates to an aerosol-generating device (1) for generating an aerosol by dispersing an aerosol-forming powder (31) into an airflow. The device comprises a device housing (2) which comprises an airflow passage therethrough and which is configured to receive a capsule (30) that contains the aerosol-forming powder to be discharged into the airflow passage. The device further comprises a magnetic actuator (40) which is configured to generate a movement of the capsule when being received in the device housing for de-agglomerating the aerosol-forming powder within the capsule. The invention further relates to an aerosol-generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device according to the invention and an aerosol-forming powder containing capsule for use with the aerosol-generating device.

VAPORIZER CARTRIDGE AND INHALER COMPRISING SUCH A VAPORIZER CARTRIDGE

A vaporizer cartridge, as a component of an inhaler, has a hollow body with a continuous flow channel and a storage tank for storing liquid. The storage tank has at least one access opening to the flow channel and a vaporizer unit arranged in the region of the access opening and extending over the entire access opening. The vaporizer unit has a wick member and a heating member. The vaporizer unit is formed to be liquid-permeable such that liquid can be conveyed at least initially in a capillary manner out of the storage tank through the vaporizer unit in the direction of the flow channel. The wick member is formed from a plurality of granular grains which form microchannels as a result of their fill and/or formation. An inhaler is also provided.

Medicinal inhaler comprising a lockout override mechanism

A refill assembly configured to be removably coupled to a reusable assembly of a medicinal inhaler is disclosed and includes a patient port, a canister actuable by the reusable assembly to deliver a dose of medicament to the patient port, and a sleeve which is selectively actuable by a user independently of the reusable assembly so as to act on the canister to deliver a dose of medicament. The refill assembly further includes an override element which engages the sleeve, the override element being moveable from a first position in which the sleeve is retained in a first position by the override element and a second position in which the sleeve is permitted to move to a second position upon depression of the sleeve by a user to cause a dose of medicament to be delivered to the patient port.

Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure Device
20220362506 · 2022-11-17 · ·

A bi-level positive airway pressure device includes a housing that has a patient port for connecting to an airway of a patient. There is a device (e.g., a nozzle) for generating a positive airway pressure that is directed through a conduit towards the patient port. An exhalation detector includes a nozzle emitting a jet of a gas directed across the conduit and directed at a receptor channel when exhalation gases flow from the patient port, thereby an increase a gas pressure is present at the receptor channel when the exhalation gases flow from the patient port. The exhalation detector converts the increase in the gas pressure into a movement of an occluding member such that when the exhalation gases flow from the patient port, the occluding member moves to block the means for generating the positive airway pressure.

Methods and systems for adaptive base flow

This disclosure describes systems and methods for providing novel adaptive base flow scheduling during ventilation of a patient to optimize the accuracy of estimated exhaled tidal volume. Further, this disclosure describes systems and methods for providing novel adaptive inspiratory trigger threshold scheduling during the novel adaptive base flow scheduling.

VAPORIZER CARTRIDGE AND INHALER COMPRISING SUCH A VAPORIZER CARTRIDGE

A vaporizer cartridge for an inhaler has a hollow body with a continuous flow channel and liquid storage tank. The tank has an access opening to the channel and a vaporizer unit extending over the entire access opening. The vaporizer unit has a wick member and a heating member. The vaporizer unit is liquid-permeable such that liquid is conveyed at least initially in a capillary manner from the storage tank through the vaporizer unit in the direction of the flow channel. The wick member is formed from a plurality of granular grains which, as a result of their fill and/or formation, form microchannels which establish a fluid connection between the storage tank and the flow channel, continuously from an entry side to an exit side of the wick member. An additional securing means is provided which is holds the granular wick member in position. A corresponding inhaler is also provided.

Dry powder nebulizer

A dry powder delivery device may be configured to provide micronized dry powder particles to airways of a user. The device may include a cylindrical container delimiting a chamber containing at least one magnetically-responsive object, a motor external to said chamber, a magnet external to the chamber and rotatably coupled with the motor, and an outflow member configured to direct airflow to a user. The magnetically-responsive object may be coated with micronized dry powder particles, and the motor may be operable to rotate the magnet about an axis. Rotation of the magnet creates a magnetic field that causes the magnetically-responsive object to move in response to the magnetic field and collide with a side wall of the container to deaggregate the dry powder particles and aerosolize the dry powder in the chamber.

CAPSULES, HEAT-NOT-BURN (HNB) AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICES, AND METHODS OF GENERATING AN AEROSOL

A capsule for a heat-not-burn (HNB) aerosol-generating device may include a first heater, a second heater, and a frame sandwiched between the first heater and the second heater, and a cannabinoid-containing material. The frame may define open spaces therein and have a rigidity that is adequate to support the first heater and the second heater. The open spaces within the frame may be interconnected and sized for aerosol-permeability and capillary action.

Control device for aerosol nebulizer system

The present invention relates to a control device for controlling an operation of an aerosol nebulizer system (30), said aerosol nebulizer system (30) comprising an aerosol generator (31) for nebulizing a liquid and a plurality of sensor units (38a, 38b, 38c, 38d, 38e), said control device (20) comprising: a communication unit (21), configured to establish a wireless communication connection and to perform data transmission with the aerosol nebulizer system (30), a sensor data control unit (22), configured to trigger a selection of sensor data related to the sensor units (38a, 38b, 38c, 38d, 38e) to be wirelessly transmitted to the control device (20).
