The attachment system includes a body having a lumen extending between the two openings of the body, a bag coupling, and a valve positioned within the lumen. A method of using the inhalation bag attachment system is also disclosed.

Systems and methods for manufacturing and safety of an NO.SUB.2.-to-NO reactor cartridge used to deliver NO for inhalation therapy to a patient

The principles and embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and systems for safely providing NO to a recipient for inhalation therapy. There are many potential safety issues that may arise from using a reactor cartridge that converts NO.sub.2 to NO, including exhaustion of consumable reactants of the cartridge reactor. Accordingly, various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods of determining the remaining useful life of a NO.sub.2-to-NO reactor cartridge and/or a breakthrough of NO.sub.2, and providing an indication of the remaining useful life and/or breakthrough.

Apparatus and method for detecting liquid level in a clear or partially clear container

A trap bowl is provided to accumulate liquid droplets from a filter, as a liquid content. The trap bowl includes a transparent vertical prism. The transparent vertical prism includes a face that forms a vertical transparent surface facing against a content of the section. The face can provide a first angle of total reflection when content of the section is a type of gas, and a second angle of total reflection when the content of the section is the liquid content. A light source may emit a light beam incident on the face at an angle of incidence. The angle of incidence results in reflection of the light beam, striking the light receiver, when the face has the first angle of total reflection, and results in refraction of the light beam, missing the light receiver, when the face has the second angle of total reflection.

AEROSOLIZATION SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES

Systems, methods and apparatuses for aerosolizing all or substantially all plant matter, medications, flavors, smells, liquid and/or other material to be aerosolizing are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention comprise an aerosolization chamber sealed except for two or more conduits, a first conduit coupled to a source of fully or almost fully oxygenated gas, a heating element capable of heating the aerosolization chamber to a temperature above a combustion temperature, a second conduit configured to transport aerosolized gases and elements out of the chamber and, in one implementation, at least one valve positioned in the second conduit preventing the flow of atmospheric air into the vaporization chamber. In some instances, the first gas substantially clears the vaporization chamber of atmospheric air prior to reaching combustion temperature. A second gas containing oxygen may be intermixed with the vaporization gases and vaporized elements proximal to the combustion chamber.

Apparatus and method for oxygen delivery to a patient during manual ventilation

A system for detecting manual ventilation and selectively delivering a high flow of oxygen. The system comprises a source of compressed oxygen coupled to a first lumen of a nasal cannula, with an oxygen flow control valve coupled to a processor to control the flow of oxygen to the nasal cannula. A second lumen of the nasal cannula is in connection with a pressure sensor and the pressure sensor in connection with the processor. The processor may receive the pressure values and be programmed to determine when manual ventilation has occurred, and send a signal to the oxygen flow control valve to send a high flow of oxygen in response to manual ventilation.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTELLIGENT GAS SOURCE MANAGEMENT

A therapeutic gas source and cart and methods thereof for use with a therapeutic gas delivery system is disclosed. The therapeutic gas source may include a cylinder operable to contain a therapeutic gas that includes a body and a gas source valve body. In some examples, the gas source valve body has a valve and a coupling member.

MULTI-MODE MEDICAL GAS DELIVERY WITH NON-INVASIVE VENTILATION

A ventilation device for providing a gas mixture for a user including a compressor to output compressed air; a valve to receive the compressed air and medical gas and selectively output a gas flow of at least one of the medical gas and the compressed air; a patient interface configured to provide the output gas flow of the valve; and a controller to control the valve to deliver substantially only the medical gas to the patient interface during a first portion of the inspiratory period and deliver substantially only the compressed air to the patient interface during a second portion of the inspiratory period.

Conduit connector for a patient breathing device

In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.

Vacuum and positive pressure ventilation systems and methods for intrathoracic pressure regulation

Medical techniques include systems and methods for administering a positive pressure ventilation, a positive end expiratory pressure, and a vacuum to a person. Approaches also include treating a person with an intrathoracic pressure regulator so as to modulate or upregulate the autonomic system of the person, and treating a person with a combination of an intrathoracic pressure regulation treatment and an intra-aortic balloon pump treatment.

Medicine vaporizer apparatus and methods of using the same
11583640 · 2023-02-21 · ·

A medicine vaporizer apparatus comprises a base with an upwardly extending heating element disposed within a rigid tube. Air is drawn into the rigid tube through an aperture in the rigid tube below the heating element and directed over the heating element to then be drawn through a flexible tube and through a filter or screen comprising an amount of medicine. Heated air flows over the amount of medicine and vaporizes the same, wherein the medicine is thereafter drawn into the lungs of a patient pulling the air therethrough with his or her mouth. Thermal separation and cooling of various parts prevents accidental injury to users and provides an inert air path for the air therethrough. The apparatus further provides controlled incineration and/or vaporization of the medicine.
