Device for temporary local application of fluids
One embodiment is a medical device with a flexibly deformable external hose. The external hose includes multiple openings, at least one of them arranged in a first end of the external hose. It includes a flexible internal hose, which is arranged on the inside of the external hose. The internal hose, in an expanded state, has an external diameter that is at least equal to the internal diameter of the external hose, closing the openings of the external hose. The external diameter of the internal hose can be transitioned from the expanded state into a radially contracted state, exposing the openings. A connection firmly connects the external hose and the internal hose on the first end of the external hose, and closes them in fluid-tight manner. A connector supplies the fluid into the intervening space between the external and the internal hose.
MULTIPURPOSE WEARABLE ENDOVASCULAR APPARATUS
An endovascular apparatus including a stabilizing element and a rod that may be detachably coupled to the stabilizing element. The rod may be elongated along a longitudinal axis. The rod may have at least one therapeutic agent thereon. The therapeutic agent may be an enzyme, an antibody, a biomarker, or a bioreceptor for neutralizing components of a bodily fluid of a patient. The rod may be inserted into the patient's body to place the therapeutic agent into fluid communication with the patient's bodily fluid. The rod may be formed from silicone and an outer surface of the rod may be etched prior to coating the rod with the therapeutic agent.
Dual-Lumen Catheter Assembly
A catheter assembly includes a shaft with two non-communicating lumens for simultaneous inflow and outflow of fluids from a vein. A return lumen extends to an outlet assembly at the tip. A draw lumen includes an inlet assembly, proximally of the outlet assembly, with multiple openings to avoid blockage causing pressure elevation due to suction. The draw lumen has a larger crescent-shape profile while the return lumen has a smaller, circular profile within the arms of the crescent shape.
Gas delivery devices
A gas delivery device includes a nitric oxide generating system. The system has a medium including a source of nitrite ions. A working electrode is in contact with the medium. A Cu(II)-ligand complex is in contact with the working electrode. A reference/counter electrode is, or a reference electrode and a counter electrode are in contact with the medium and separated from the working electrode. An inlet conduit is to deliver nitrogen gas to the medium, and an outlet conduit is to transport a stream of nitrogen gas and nitric oxide from the medium. An inspiratory gas conduit is operatively connected to the outlet conduit to introduce an oxygen-containing gas and form an output gas stream of the gas delivery device.
Biodegradable and Multifunctional Neural Block Devices
Embodiments relate to a crosslinked citrate-based elastomer catheter that is biodegradable and kink resistant. Embodiments of the crosslinked citrate-based elastomer material swells when surrounded by fluid (body fluid) so as to anchor the catheter to tissue but not anchor it so much that movement or removal will cause tissue damage. The catheter can be used as a component to a peripheral nerve block device, for example. Embodiments of the catheter can include embedding biodegradable sensors, moieties, shape memory material, etc. to monitor and modulate functions of the catheter and/or peripheral nerve block.
RADIAL ACCESS BALLOON CATHETER
Discussed herein are various embodiments related to a catheter assembly. The catheter assembly can include a catheter body extending between a proximal portion and a distal portion. The catheter body can include a sleeve and a hypotube, connected by at least one bond site, and separated by a floating gap. The hypotube can include at least one flow opening extending from the hypotube lumen to a stagnation zone, configured to permit flow between the stagnation zone and the hypotube lumen.
Alternative use for hydrogel intrasaccular occlusion device with vertically oriented reinforcement members for structural support
A device for endovascular treatment to ameliorate aneurysm recurrences by deploying a treatment mesh having a plurality of vertically oriented elongated support reinforcement elements that are substantially parallel and oriented upon a plane in communication with the mesh. Upon deployment, the array of distal ends of the support extensions and reinforcements are substantially oriented upon a plane, which plane is in substantially the same orientation as the opening of the aneurysm into which the device was deployed. The treatment mesh may incorporate a coating of hydrogel, optionally impregnated with pharmaceutical compounds.
XYLITOL-DOPED CITRATE COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides compositions which may be used as tissue engineering materials, and more particularly xylitol-doped citrate polymer compositions which may be useful as bone grafts.
Catheter
In some examples, a catheter comprises an inner liner, an outer jacket, and a structural support member positioned between at least a portion of the inner liner and the outer jacket. The inner liner, the outer jacket, and the structural support member define a catheter body that comprises a proximal portion having a first outer diameter, a distal portion having a second outer diameter less than the first outer diameter, the distal portion including a distal end of the catheter body, and a medial portion positioned between the proximal portion and the distal portion, the medial portion tapering from the first outer diameter to the second outer diameter.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DISPENSING FLOWABLE HEMOSTATS THAT INCORPORATE SAFETY MECHANISMS FOR PREVENTING AIR EMBOLISMS
A dispensing system includes a hollow tube having an outer wall with an air vent formed in the outer wall. A valve including a flexible flap is disposed inside the tube. The flexible flap, normally biased into a retracted position, is moveable between an extended position for sealing the air vent and the retracted position for unsealing the air vent. A syringe connector interconnects a syringe with the proximal end of the hollow tube and defines a fluid flow path. A flowable viscous fluid is disposed within the syringe. When a syringe plunger is depressed, the flowable viscous fluid is expelled from the syringe and forced through the fluid flow path and into the proximal end of the hollow tube. When the flowable viscous fluid engages the flexible flap, the flexible flap is forced to move into a position that seals the air vent.
