The invention comprises an indwelling medical device which is capable of delivering a therapeutic agent evenly along the length of the indwelling portion, including the outer wall, of the device.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR EMBEDDING DRUG MOLECULES INTO MEDICAL CATHETERS OR TUBES
20180000993 · 2018-01-04 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods for embedding drug molecules into medical catheters, tubes, and other medical devices. The catheter, tube, or other medical device is capable of releasing drugs for extended periods of time. Drugs can be loaded into the wall thereof through diffusion from a solution, e.g., loading solution. A counterintuitive approach of using undissolved drug particulates in the solution is employed in some embodiments. The drug in the wall of the device and in the solution (which when stored may be referred to as a storage solution) can be in dynamic equilibrium, yielding stable and easy-to-manufacture products. Heat can be used to significantly speed up the drug loading.

INFUSION FILTER AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING THROMBOLYSIS
20230233310 · 2023-07-27 ·

An infusion filter design combines a fluid infusion device and a blood filtration device that filter blood during a thrombolysis procedure while allowing for complete filter removal on procedure completion. In one embodiment, a wire comprises a proximal, non-infusible length that extends partially outside of the patient and within the vein. The wire further comprises an infusible length distally from the non-infusible length that is extends within the vein so as to be placed at the section of the vein requiring medication. The wire also comprises a distal filter component at a distal end of the wire that is employed to filter the blood in the event that during the period that clot is dissolved it migrates toward the central circulation.

EMBOLIC AGENT KIT

The present disclosure provides a technique capable of ensuring good visibility when introducing an embolic agent and reducing the visibility after introduction. Provided is an embolic agent kit. The embolic agent kit includes: a catheter having an inner cavity; a reaction product of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a crosslinking agent, which is filled in the inner cavity; and a priming solution containing a visualization agent and configured to prime an inside of the catheter.

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS CATHETER WITH AN EXPANDABLE STRUCTURE
20230015625 · 2023-01-19 ·

Disclosed are peritoneal dialysis catheters comprising a distal region comprising a perforated portion and one or more expandable member configured to float the catheters on dialysate fluid within the peritoneal cavity of a patient, and methods for using the catheters.

CATHETER FOR MANIPULATING ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE AND RELATIVE POSITION OF THE CATHETER AND THE ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE
20220409373 · 2022-12-29 ·

A catheter for changing or manipulating a shape of a surrounding anatomical structure or position the catheter in relation to said surrounding anatomical structure has distal and proximal ends. Further the catheter includes at least a first body extending along the catheter in the distal end portion of the catheter, wherein said body has an activated state and inactivated state. In said activated state a second diameter or a second volume of the body is bigger than a first diameter or a first volume of the body in said inactivated state. In addition, in said activated state said body is configured to support the catheter to an anatomical structure surrounded the catheter, such as e.g. chordae, blood vessel or urethra, and thereby change a relative position of the catheter and the surrounding anatomical structure and again to change or manipulate the shape of the surrounding anatomical structure or position the catheter in relation to said surrounding anatomical structure.

MEDICAL INSTRUMENT

In a medical instrument that is inserted into an affected area or tissue to perform treatment, a technique of delivering various drugs to a target site is desired.

Provided is a medical instrument that is inserted into an affected area or tissue to perform treatment, wherein a drug-loaded nanostructure is covalently bound to the medical instrument via a photosensitive linker immobilized on the surface of at least a portion of the medical instrument.

MEDICAL ELONGATED BODY
20220379077 · 2022-12-01 · ·

A medical elongated body that is capable of improving convenience during use by a surgeon, and capable of preventing peeling, from a catheter main body, of a drug portion (a hydrophilic coating) containing metal ions and a drug when disposed on a wound site of a patient. An introducer sheath includes a tubular sheath configured to be percutaneously inserted into a blood vessel, and a hub connected to a proximal portion of the tubular sheath, in which the tubular sheath includes a first region and a second region located on a proximal side relative to the first region, the first region has a first hydrophilic coating having lubricity, the second region includes a groove portion extending from a distal side of the tubular sheath toward a proximal side of the tubular sheath, the groove portion having a second hydrophilic coating containing at least one of metal ions and a drug.

DRUG ASSISTED WOUND DRAINAGE LINE

The wound drainage apparatus for drug-assisted removal of bodily fluids includes a double-lumen tubing member connected to a customizable branched tubing member for placement in a wound cavity. A perforated inner tube connected to an anticoagulant drug delivery pump and a solid outer tube connected to a fluid drainage vacuum make up the double-lumen tubing member. The branched tubing member includes a plurality of secondary wound cavity tubes branching away from a primary wound cavity tube. The apparatus disclosed herein improves upon current drainage systems by preventing occlusions produced by blood clots forming in fluid drainage tubes.
