Sterile Sealed Secured IV Catheter Dressing

Devices, systems, and methods used to dress a catheter device are disclosed. The devices and systems include a catheter dressing system including a body, a closure member, an adhesive plate, and an extension tubing having a catheter connector coupled to a distal end. The catheter dressing system is displaceable over the extension tubing and the extension tubing passes through the closure member. The catheter connector is disposable within a chamber of the body to prevent movement of the catheter connector. The closure member is actuated to form a circumferential seal around the extension tubing to prevent contamination of the catheter connector and to prevent axial movement of the extension tubing. The adhesive plate can be adhered to a patient's skin to form a circumferential seal around a catheter skin puncture site. The method includes sliding the catheter dressing system along the extension tubing.

Medical device securement system and method

A medical device securement system is configured to secure medical devices such as catheters in place. The securement system includes an anchor pad that attaches to a patient's skin. A malleable support base is attached to an upper surface of the anchor pad. The support base has front and back inclined surfaces that are separated by an offset surface that extends generally normal to both of the inclined surfaces. A spot of adhesive is applied to one or more of the inclined surfaces. A catheter assembly includes a connector having a first connector portion with a diameter larger than an adjacent second structure. The catheter assembly is attached to the support base with the first connector portion engaged with and supported by the back inclined surface, and the second connector portion engaged with and supported by the front inclined surface.

COMPRESSION DEVICE SET AND METHOD FOR ATTACHING DEVICE

A compression device set includes: a compression device to be adhered to a biological surface; and a cover member attachable to and detachable from the compression device. The compression device includes: an adhesive sheet having an adhesion lower surface to be adhered to the biological surface; and a compression member fixed to an upper surface side of the adhesive sheet and configured to compress the biological surface when the adhesion surface is adhered to the biological surface. The adhesive sheet includes a first portion that is in contact with the compression member and a second portion that is not in contact with the compression member. The cover member is configured to be attached to the compression member in a state in which the cover member is configured to come into contact with an upper surface of at least a part of the second portion of the adhesive sheet.

Unitary strain-relieving intravenous (IV) anchor system

A system for strain relieving intravenous (IV) assembly includes a dressing and an anchor portion for use with the dressing. In various embodiments, the dressing may cover an injection site into a portion of a patient's body for an intravenous (IV) assembly that provides fluid communication between the injection site and a fluid reservoir remote from the injection site through a flexible tube. In an illustrative example, the anchor portion may include a first member and a second member. The first member may be secured, for example, to the dressing and may, in some examples, wrap around the tubing so as to resist axial movement of the tubing relative to the dressing. The second member may be secured to the dressing and may wrap around the tubing and a portion of the patient's body so as to resist radial movement of the tubing relative to the body.

STABILIZER FOR AN INSERTED CATHETER AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING THE STABILIZER
20230218865 · 2023-07-13 ·

A catheter stabilizer and a method for installing the stabilizer are especially suited to retaining a catheter in its position of insertion into the body of a patient. The stabilizer is a laminate of clear film atop double-backed adhesive preferably atop peel-off release paper. The double-backed adhesive defines a viewing window through the stabilizer. The stabilizer and method reduce preparation-of-materials steps, eliminate performance of arbitrary, awkward or inconsistently-performable installation steps, result in predictably effective catheter-to-patient connections, mitigate against the likelihoods of migration of the catheter out of the incision or expansion of the length of the incision during and after installation, create a sterile environment to the area surrounding the point of penetration of the catheter into the anatomy, extend the effective life of the installation, reduce the risks of complications and costs associated with replacement of a catheter and enable a rapid and sound installation.

Medical device anchor

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and apparatus for securing a medical device. An exemplary apparatus includes a body having an inner portion and an edge portion, the edge portion defining a terminal end of the body, the body defining at least one surface spanning the inner portion and the edge portion. The apparatus further includes at least one wing fixedly coupled to the edge portion of the body, the at least one wing defining at least one hole extending through the at least one wing. The apparatus still further includes at least one channel disposed on the at least one surface of the body, the at least one channel having a first terminal end at the edge portion of the body, wherein the at least one channel comprises at least one curve.
