Integrated vascular delivery system
An integrated vascular delivery system and method of use, the system including: a frame having a catheter hub that provides a first anchoring point on the patient and receives a catheter insertable in the patient to transfer fluid at an insertion site, a stabilization hub that provides a second anchoring point on the patient, at least one lateral member extending between the catheter and stabilization hubs, and a fluidic channel. The frame operates in a folded configuration in which the hubs are coupleable and an unfolded configuration in which the anchoring points are distributed around the insertion site to anchor the frame to the patient, thereby stabilizing the catheter. In some embodiments, the system further includes a septum that helps prevent fluid leakage from the catheter hub, or a needle shield that covers the distal end of a needle used during catheter insertion.
CATHETER RETAINING DEVICE
The present invention relates to means for fixating catheters, which are used in healthcare and in particular to means (1,5) for fixating such catheters to a living creature.
STABILIZER FOR AN INSERTED CATHETER AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING THE STABILIZER
A catheter stabilizer and a method for installing the stabilizer are especially suited to retaining a catheter in its position of insertion into the body of a patient. The stabilizer is a laminate of clear film atop double-backed adhesive preferably atop peel-off release paper. The double-backed adhesive defines a viewing window through the stabilizer. The stabilizer and method reduce preparation-of-materials steps, eliminate performance of arbitrary, awkward or inconsistently-performable installation steps, result in predictably effective catheter-to-patient connections, mitigate against the likelihoods of migration of the catheter out of the incision or expansion of the length of the incision during and after installation, create a sterile environment to the area surrounding the point of penetration of the catheter into the anatomy, extend the effective life of the installation, reduce the risks of complications and costs associated with replacement of a catheter and enable a rapid and sound installation.
Dressing-Based Traction Apparatus with Integrated Tourniquet for Improved Blood Draw
Provided herein is a catheter assembly, including a catheter adapter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending along a first longitudinal axis therebetween, a catheter extending from the distal end of the catheter adapter, a dressing comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and first and second sides extending therebetween, the dressing defining a second longitudinal axis and configured to cover at least a portion of the catheter adapter at a site of penetration into a patient's vasculature, the dressing further comprising an upper surface and a lower surface, the lower surface configured to contact skin of a patient, and a tourniquet configured to apply a radially-inward pressure to a limb of a patient near the site of penetration, the tourniquet configured to couple with the dressing.
DEVICE FOR SECURING A CATHETER
A device for securing a catheter inserted into an incision or orifice of a patient is described. The device includes a module with bore into which the catheter can be inserted. Semirigid tethers connected to the module and to the patient prevent movement of the catheter relative to its position in the incision or orifice.
Method and apparatus for rectal anaesthesia
A system and method for delivering a medicament including a catheter configured for implantation in different target tissue sites, extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and having a sidewall which defines an internal lumen. The distal end has one or more apertures in the sidewall for the release of the medicament into the target tissue site; the system also comprises a medicament reservoir fluidly communicable with the internal lumen of each catheter, an adhesive member configured to adhere to the skin of the patient around the exit wound and having an opening therein to allow the catheters to pass through the adhesive member and a retaining member configured to be overlaid on the adhesive member and comprising a guide surface configured to receive a length of the two or more catheters and a plurality of retaining portions to retain the catheters against the guide surface.
DEVICES FOR TRANSRADIAL CATHETERIZATION
The invention provides devices and methods for performing transradial catheterization.
TUBE SECUREMENT TAPE
The disclosed securement tape strip comprises a tape having a midsection, a stabilizing section, and a wrapping strip. The tape strip has an adhesive along the midsection to adhere the tape strip to a substrate. The wrapping strip can include an adhesive for wrapping the wrapping strip around a device to hold the device securely in place on the substrate. The tape strip can include a perforation set along the midsection. The perforation set can be useful in removal of the tape.
Apparatus and methods for lubricating devices introduced into a body of a patient
Apparatus and methods are provided for lubricating a medical device, such as a colonoscope, being introduced into a patient's body. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a housing including a proximal surface, a distal surface, a channel extending between the proximal and distal surfaces; and a lubricant within an interior of the housing surrounding the channel such that a scope or other device inserted through the channel receives lubricant on its outer surface before introduction into a patient's body.
Surgery pillow and device combining endotracheal tube holder, bite guard, and patient eye protector
A surgery apparatus includes a resilient foam pillow having an arrangement of labeled tabs for holding lines leading to/from a patient during and after surgery. A central cutout area in the pillow accommodates the patient's eyes, nose and mouth when in the prone position. Left and right channels in the foam pillow extend from a top edge of the pillow to the central cutout area for holding a breathing tube system. The foam pillow further includes a removably attachable chest support and opposite shoulder supports. A multipurpose holder device for placement on the patient's head has an arrangement of straps for securing an eye shield, a bite block and ventilator tube securing straps on the patient during surgery.
