DRUG-COATED BALLOON CATHETERS FOR BODY LUMENS
20230050453 · 2023-02-16 ·

Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating, preventing, or reducing the recurrence of a stricture and/or cancer, or for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in a non-vascular body lumen and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a length-control mechanism which stretches and elongates the balloon when it is in a deflated state, giving the balloon a smaller cross-sectional deflated profile for tracking through the body lumen and for removal after treatment.

TUBULAR SHAPED ELONGATED CATHETER DEVICE ASSEMBLIES FOR INTERACTING WITH COMPONENTS OF BODILY FLUIDS, METHOD FOR RECOVERING CELLS, CELL AGGREGATES AND EXOSOMES FROM A TUBULAR SHAPED ELONGATED CATHETER DEVICE AND SMART TUBULAR SHAPED ELONGATED CATHETER DEVICE ASSEMBLIES FOR MONITORING INTERACTION WITH COMPONENTS OF BODILY FLUIDS

A tubular shaped elongated catheter device assembly with a distal and a proximal end, comprising an intraluminal distal segment and an extraluminal proximal segment, comprising one or more chemical and/or biological agents, for interaction with bodily fluids of luminal organs, wherein the intraluminal segment comprises at least one expandable cross-sectional area which in its expanded state is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the luminal target site and wherein at least the expandable portion of the intraluminal segment is capable of interacting with at least one component of the bodily fluid via an interactive contact surface.

Adjustable-length drug delivery balloon

A drug or agent coated balloon having a length which is adjustable in vivo is described herein. The balloon is configured to be coated or coatable with one or more drugs where the coating may be applied prior to advancement into a patient body or prior to balloon expansion within the patient body. The length of the expandable portion of the balloon is adjustable to approximate a length of the tissue region to be treated. Moreover, the drug-coated balloon may be used alone or it may be utilized to deploy luminal prostheses having one or more linked or otherwise coupled segments.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INTERMITTENTLY TRIGGERING A REFLEX-COORDINATED DEFECATION
20230041626 · 2023-02-09 ·

The invention relates to a method for filling an inflatable catheter balloon of a device for transanally introducing an infusion into the rectum or colon of a patient by means of a filling device, wherein a fill volume or a filling pressure prevailing in the catheter balloon is increased in two or more steps until there occurs a gradual, user-controllable, pneumatically initiated expansion of portions of the bowel wall, thus triggering a coordinated defecation reflex, wherein the timing and intensity of the triggering stimulus can be determined to the greatest possible extent by the user.

DRUG-LOADED IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL INSTRUMENT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
20230044992 · 2023-02-09 ·

Provided are a drug-loaded implantable medical instrument and a manufacturing method therefor. The drug-loaded implantable medical instrument (10) comprises an instrument body (100), a microporous membrane (200) fixed on the instrument body (100), and a nanocrystal medicament (300) loaded on the microporous membrane (200). A method for preparing a drug-loaded implantable medical device includes: providing a microporous membrane; loading a nanocrystalline drug on the microporous membrane; and fixing the microporous membrane loaded with the nanocrystalline drug to the device body.

ENDOVASCULAR DEVICES AND METHODS FOR EXPLOITING INTRAMURAL SPACE

Devices and methods for the treatment of chronic total occlusions are provided. One disclosed embodiment comprises a method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein. The method includes inserting an intramural crossing device into the vascular lumen, positioning at least the distal tip of the crossing device in the vascular wall, advancing an orienting device over the crossing device such that an orienting element of the orienting device resides in the vascular wall, inserting a reentry device, and re-entering the true vascular lumen.

FILAMENTARY DEVICES FOR TREATMENT OF VASCULAR DEFECTS

Methods for treatment of a cerebral aneurysm within a cerebral vasculature of a patient are described. A microcatheter and a device for treatment of the aneurysm are provided. The device is a self-expanding resilient permeable shell having a plurality of elongate resilient filaments with a woven structure. The plurality of filaments includes small and large filaments. The filaments are bundled and secured to each other at a proximal end. A ratio of the total cross-sectional area of small filaments to the total cross-sectional area of large filaments may be between 0.56 and 1.89. The distal end of the microcatheter is advanced to a region of interest within a cerebral artery. The device is advanced through the lumen and out of the distal end of the microcatheter such that the permeable shell deploys and expands within the cerebral aneurysm. The microcatheter is then withdrawn from the cerebral artery.
