20230048709 · 2023-02-16 ·

A medical device includes a multi-layer body defining an interior space configured to contain a liquid. The multi-layer body includes a solid outer wall having a positive Poisson's ratio and a porous inner wall having a negative Poisson's ratio. A method of making a multi-layer body includes applying a stimulus to a precursor material to cause the precursor material to form a porous wall having a negative Poisson's ratio, and attaching a solid wall to the porous wall to form the multi-layer body, the solid wall having a positive Poisson's ratio. A suture includes one or more filaments, at least a first filament of the one or more filaments including a negative Poisson's ratio material. A medical device includes a biocompatible hydrogel, and the biocompatible hydrogel includes a composite of a first material having a negative Poisson's ratio and a second material having a positive Poisson's ratio.

20230001068 · 2023-01-05 ·

A fluid diverting device for an apparatus for extracorporeal treatment of blood is configured to be placed in-line between a main portion (22) of the apparatus (1) and a vascular access of a patient (P) and comprises: a substantially H-shaped conduits assembly comprising a withdrawal conduit (23), a return conduit (24) and at least one bridging conduit (25, 125) connecting the withdrawal conduit (23) to the return conduit (24). The withdrawal conduit (23) is connectable upstream and downstream to a withdrawal line (6) of the apparatus (1), the return conduit (24) is connectable upstream and downstream to a return line (7) of the apparatus (1). A plurality of valves (26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32) or distributors (201, 202) operate on the withdrawal conduit (23), on the return conduit (24) and on the at least one bridging conduit (25) and are configured to divert a flow of liquid and/or blood without disconnecting the patient (P).

Cable management system and cable holder

A cable holder prevents fraying or tangling of cables configured to physically and electrically connect to one or more devices, such as patient monitoring devices. The cable holder can be configured to: (i) detachably secure the one or more cables, and (ii) be detachably secured to a support structure. The cable holder may include a first surface in which an aperture configured to receive a cable is defined, and a second surface on which a connector configured to removably interconnect with a connector of another cable holder is defined.

Systems, methods, and components for trapping air bubbles in medical fluid transfer modules and systems

Bubble traps for use in medical fluid lines and medical fluid bubble trap systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the bubble trap is configured to trap gas (e.g., air) that flows into the bubble trap from a fluid line. In some embodiments, the bubble trap includes an inlet and an outlet and a chamber between the inlet and the outlet. For example, in some embodiments, the bubble trap is configured to inhibit gas from flowing into the outlet once gas flows into the chamber from the inlet. In some embodiments, the bubble trap is in fluid communication with a source container, a destination container, and/or a patient.

Screw control medical fluid flow manifolds

Fluid flow manifold assemblies for use in fluid flow sets are provided. The fluid flow manifold assembly includes a body having a main fluid channel and a reinforcing plate, the main fluid channel having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a drug port. A flow control assembly is disposed opposite the main fluid channel from the drug port. The flow control assembly is configured to shut off fluid flow through the drug port into the main fluid channel with a plunger of the flow control assembly in a closed position and to allow incremental levels of fluid flow through the drug port into the main fluid channel by variably retracting the plunger based on rotation of a knob of the flow control assembly.

Device for injecting a liquid product comprising two half-shells rotatably mobile relative to each other
09827370 · 2017-11-28 · ·

The present invention concerns a device for injecting a liquid product contained in a bag, the device comprising a housing consisting of two half-shells articulated about an axis of rotation in order to allow the relative movement of the half-shells relative to each other between: —an open position in order to put the bag in place and—a closed position for injecting the liquid product contained in the bag, remarkable in that: —one of the half-shells comprises a deformable bladder—called the “active bladder”—having a volume that varies under the action of a hydraulic ram supplying said bladder with hydraulic fluid, and—the other of the half-shells comprises a deformable damping cushion having a constant volume—called the “passive cushion”.
