Introducer Components, Assemblies, and Methods Thereof
Disclosed are introducer components, assemblies, and methods. For example, an introducer assembly can include a fluidly connected syringe and needle. The needle can include a needle shaft and a needle hub over a proximal portion of the needle shaft. The needle hub can include a port and a valve disposed in the port. The port can be in a side of the needle hub proximal of a proximal end of the needle shaft. The valve can be configured to form a fluid-tight seal around an elongate medical device such as an access guidewire when passed through the port and into a needle-hub lumen of the needle hub. Such an access guidewire can be disposed in the introducer assembly just proximal of a needle tip of the needle. In this way, the access guidewire can be immediately advanced into a blood-vessel lumen upon establishing a needle tract thereto with the needle.
Medical device with hemostatic valve
In various examples, a hub for a medical device includes a hub housing including a passage from a proximal end of the hub housing to a distal end of the hub housing. A valve is disposed within the hub. The valve is configured to allow passage of an insertable device through the valve while inhibiting leakage of fluid from the valve. A cap is engaged to the hub housing. The cap includes an opening therethrough sized and shaped to allow passage of the insertable device through the opening. The opening allows access to the passage of the hub housing. An angled sidewall is disposed within the hub. The angled sidewall is configured to retain and deform the valve into a curved shape.
GASKET WITH EXTERNAL SEALING FEATURES FOR INTRODUCER SHEATH
A hemostasis seal member for a medical device, the seal member comprises a cylindrical main body portion having a proximal face, a distal face, and a peripheral surface face extending between the proximal and distal faces, the main body portion having a first diameter, and a radial sealing feature extending radially inward or outward from the peripheral surface and configured to sealingly engage an inner cylindrical surface of a hemostasis valve housing. The radial sealing feature comprises a radial projection extending radially outward from the peripheral surface, or a concave recess extending radially inward from the peripheral surface.
Biopsy cap and biopsy cap housing
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical instruments. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a biopsy cap and endoscope biopsy cap housing with improved stability and stress distribution to securely and removably attach to an endoscope biopsy port. In one example, a biopsy cap housing may include a first center-split half comprising a first half of an upper and lower chamber and first pivot member, and a second center-split half comprising a second half of an upper and lower chamber, and second pivot member, wherein mating surfaces of the first and second center-split halves may be configured to interlock to define the upper and lower chambers.
Seal assembly for a surgical access assembly and method of manufacturing the same
A method of manufacturing a seal assembly for a surgical access assembly includes forming a seal assembly having a monolithic construction. The seal assembly includes a support member, seal sections connected to the support member, bridges disposed between adjacent seal sections and interconnecting the adjacent seal sections, and a plurality of standoffs extending from each seal section. The method also includes placing the seal assembly into a treatment bath, cutting the bridges, and folding the seal assembly.
Optical trocar visualization system and apparatus
A seal assembly including a septum seal, a lower seal support, an upper seal support and a return spring is disclosed. The septum seal includes an orifice and a plurality of apertures. The lower seal support includes an engagement surface configured to engage a portion of the septum seal. The upper seal support includes a plurality of fingers, wherein each of the plurality of fingers is configured to extend through a corresponding aperture of the septum seal. The return spring includes a collar portion and a plurality of spokes extending radially outward from the collar portion. At least a portion of the return spring may be sandwiched between the lower seal support and the upper seal support. The plurality of spokes is configured to bias the seal assembly toward a radial center of a housing.
Expandable introducer sheath for medical device
An introducer sheath for the insertion of a medical device into a blood vessel having an expandable sheath. The sheath has a length, a thickness, and proximal and distal ends. The expandable sheath has a frame extending longitudinally between the proximal and the distal ends, and having an exterior surface and an interior surface that forms an interior lumen along the length of the frame. The frame is configured to achieve an expanded state and a contracted state, the expanded state forming an expanded cross-section in the lumen for passing a medical device therethrough. The frame has a smooth coating about the exterior surface and protrusions extending into the lumen along the interior surface. The introducer sheath can be introduced into a patient in the contracted state, with the distal end of the introducer sheath prevented from moving in the proximal direction by an abutment against a dilator end surface.
Device and Method for Atraumatic and Percutaneous Formation of an Arteriovenous Fistula
Provided herein are novel devices for the formation of arteriovenous fistulas, which may aid subjects in need of hemodialysis. The novel devices are provided in a non-surgical procedure, greatly decreasing the cost and increasing the convenience of placing an arteriovenous fistula. The devices are atraumatic, and consist of a sutureless anastomosis device and conduit. Methods and tools for placing the devices in vivo are disclosed, including a magnetic-assisted method.
SURGICAL ACCESS ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USING SAME
An illuminating ring assembly is disclosed. The illuminating ring configured to be used with a surgical access element. The illuminating ring assembly comprises a housing defined by a cover and a wall member extending from the cover, wherein the cover and wall member cooperate to define a cavity therein, a light element configured to be disposed with the cavity, and an attachment mechanism configured to selectively attach the housing to a surgical access element. Wherein the cover and the light element both include an opening therethrough.
