Rapidly insertable central catheters (“RICCs”), RICC insertion assemblies, and methods are disclosed. For example, a RICC insertion assembly can include a RICC, an introducer, and an access guidewire. An introducer needle can include a needle shaft having a longitudinal gap extending from a proximal portion of the needle shaft through a needle tip. An introducer sheath can include a splittable sheath hub coupled to a splittable sheath body. The introducer sheath can be disposed over the introducer needle with the sheath body sealing the needle shaft for drawing a vacuum through the introducer needle. The access guidewire can extend along an entirety of a primary lumen of the RICC, through a splittable valved port of the sheath hub, along a sheath body-covered needle channel of the needle shaft, and to a location in the introducer proximal of the needle tip in a ready-to-operate state of the RICC insertion assembly.

NEEDLE CAPTURE SAFETY INTERLOCK FOR CATHETER

A catheter assembly includes a flexible catheter (22), a needle (12) having a sharp distal tip, the needle (12) disposed in the flexible catheter (22) and moving from a first position that exposes the needle (12) to a second position, an outer member (26) that is configured to engage and disengage a catheter hub (14), an inner member (28) disposed in the outer member (26), and a needle protection (30) member disposed in the inner member (28), the needle protection member (30) enclosing at least a portion of the needle (12) when the needle (12) is in the second position.

Skin surface indwelling device for guiding punctures

A skin surface indwelling device for guiding punctures includes: an indwelling tube (13) having an inside tunnel (P) substantially extending along the longitudinal direction of the indwelling tube (13), the tunnel (P) is used for guiding needle (N), the indwelling tube (13) has a proximal end positioned above the skin surface (S) and a distal end positioned under the skin surface (S) in indwelling state; a support (11) having a bottom surface on its bottom that directly or indirectly contacts with the skin surface (S), the support (11) supports and fixates the indwelling tube (13); and a sealing elements (141,142) configured to seal the tunnel (P).
