ADAPTER FOR MEDICAL CONNECTORS
An adapter for making a fluid connection between first and second medical fluid flow components, where the first component includes a first male or female Luer connector of a first configuration, and the component includes a second male female Luer connector of a second configuration, that is not compatible with the first configuration, includes a fluid flow conduit with a first adapter connector at a first end of the conduit and a second adapter connector at a second end of the conduit. The conduit includes a fluid flow lumen extending between the first and second ends. The first adapter connector is a male or female Luer having a first configuration that is compatible with the first medical fluid flow component connector. The second adapter connector is a male or female Luer having a second configuration that is compatible with the second medical fluid flow component connector.
Connector coupling assembly
Couplers are described herein. A coupler includes a coupler body, a plurality of first retaining fingers, and a plurality of second retaining fingers. The coupler body includes a first end and a second end, and defining a cavity, the cavity configured to receive a first connector and a second connector. The plurality of first retaining fingers are configured to engage against a collar of the first connector to prevent axial motion of the first connector relative to the coupler. The plurality of second retaining fingers are configured to engage against a shoulder of the second connector with a retention force, and release the second connector by radially expanding in response to a pullout force exerted on the second connector exceeding the retention force.
CONNECTOR SET AND FEMALE CONNECTOR
A connector set includes a male connector; and a female connector. The male connector includes: a hollow rod-shaped flow path connection portion that defines a first flow path therein and that has a first axis as a center, and a lock protrusion that has an inner peripheral edge extending in a circumferential direction around the first axis. The female connector includes: a cap, a housing, and a valve body. The cap includes: a top wall, and a cylindrical outer peripheral wall extending from an outer peripheral edge of the top wall and that has a second axis as a center. The housing includes: a cylindrical wall, and an engagement protrusion protruding from an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall so as to form a lower surface configured to engage with the lock protrusion to lock the male connector.
LUER CONNECTOR
A slip luer assembly includes a hub member and a latch member coupled to the hub member. The hub member includes an outer hub surface, and inner hub surface and a window surface. The window surface defines a window extending from the outer hub surface to the inner hub surface. The latch member includes at least one blade. The latch member is configured to be actuated between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the at least one blade is not positioned within the window of the hub member. In the second position, the at least one blade is positioned at least partially within the window of the hub member.
Modular medical connector
A modular connector assembly for a medical container may include a plurality of covers and a plurality of adapters. Each cover is connectable to a cooperatively dimensioned medical container. Each adapter is attachable in fluid sealing engagement with each cover by an interface assembly including a first interface segment formed on each of said plurality of covers and a second interface segment formed on each of said plurality of adapters. The first and second interface segments and corresponding ones of the covers and adapters are initially separable and subsequently connected to define a fluid sealing engagement between connected ones of the cover and adapter. The structural configuration of each of the plurality of adapters is variable to define a different one of a plurality of medical connector types.
FLUID CONNECTOR SYSTEM
Fluid connector systems including first and second valve assemblies couplable together to form a fluid pathway therethrough, and can resist fluid flow through the connector system when the valve assemblies are separated from each other, the first valve assembly including a compressible valve within a cavity and configured to surround a post forming a fluid passage, the compressible valve can resist fluid flow through the post in a first position and to reduce the resistance to fluid flow through the post in a second position, and the second valve assembly including a valve plug positioned within a bore and configured to obstruct a fluid passage, such that when the valve assemblies are coupled together the compressible valve is moved toward the second position and the post extends through the compressible valve and the valve plug to form the fluid pathway through the connector system.
Non-Integrated Catheter System Having an Extension Set
A catheter system may include a catheter adapter, which may include a distal end and a proximal end aligned with the distal end. The catheter system may include a catheter extending from the distal end of the catheter adapter. The catheter system may include an extension set, which may include a distal end, which may include a first connector coupled to the proximal end of the catheter adapter. The extension set may include a second connector and an extension tube disposed between the first connector and the second connector. The catheter, the catheter adapter, the first connector, the extension tube, and the second connector may be in fluid communication. The catheter system may include a stabilization platform disposed below the first connector.
Vascular Access Systems and Methods Thereof
Disclosed herein are vascular access systems and methods thereof. For example, a vascular access system includes a port configured for subdermal implantation and a single-use access device. The port can include a port hub and a catheter tube. The port hub can include an access funnel and a septum defining a pair of port-hub lumens. The catheter tube can include a septum defining a pair of catheter-tube lumens fluidly coupled to the pair of port-hub lumens. The access device can include a bifurcated hub and a pair of cannulas. The pair of cannulas defines a pair of cannula lumens coupled to a pair of access device-hub lumens of the bifurcated hub. The pair of cannulas can be configured to simultaneously insert into the access funnel and couple the pair of cannula lumens to the pair of catheter-tube lumens when the pair of cannulas is fully seated in the port hub.
