Device, system, and formulation for oral delivery of functionalized particles

A device includes a capsule sized to pass through a lumen of a gastrointestinal tract; an enteric coating surround at least a portion of the capsule and configured to protect the capsule form stomach acid while allowing degradation of the capsule in the small intestine of the gastrointestinal tract; a plurality of functionalized particles disposed within the capsule, a plurality of tissue penetrating members configured to puncture a wall of the lumen of the intestinal tract; and an actuator having a first configuration and a second configuration. The actuator is configured to retain the plurality of functionalized particles within the capsule in the first configuration. The actuator is further configured to advance the plurality of functionalized particles from the capsule into a wall of the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract via the plurality of tissue penetrating members by the actuator transitioning from the first configuration to the second configuration.

PACKAGE FOR AN ACIDIC DIALYSIS FLUID CONCENTRATE CONTAINING CITRATE AND GLUCOSE

The present invention concerns a package comprising an acidic citrate containing concentrate, an acidic citrate containing concentrate (or acidic citrate containing solution), and a system wherein the acidic citrate containing concentrate is included for providing a dialysis treatment. The acidic citrate containing concentrate contains citric acid and citrate in a molar ratio of 75:25 to 85:15, and has a pH of between 2 and 3.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

The present disclosure relates to a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device comprises a drug container containing a drug liquid, wherein the drug liquid includes insulin glargine dissolved therein, and a hollow needle defining an elongated interior space through which the drug liquid is dispensable from the drug container, wherein the needle is at least partially made of a steel resistant to chloride, wherein the elongated interior space is in fluid communication with the drug container in a storage or pre-delivery condition, for example within a timeframe of at least 1 hour in absence of significant exchange of drug liquid inside the interior space.

QUICK RELEASE CAPSULES

Articles for rapid release of components including, for example, quick release capsules, are generally provided. Advantageously, in some embodiments, the articles described herein may be configured to prevent fluid from contacting a component h contained therein (e.g., tissue interfacing component) or payload contained therein until a desired time, e.g., the time at which the component is configured to release from the article to a location internal to a subject (e.g., localize to a tissue wall in the subject). In some embodiments, the article comprises a first compartment and a second compartment not in fluid communication with the first compartment. In some embodiments, the first compartment and second compartment are fluidically isolated. For example, in some cases, the first compartment comprises a mechanism for releasing a component contained within the article and the second compartment comprises the component.

INTRA-RUMINAL DEVICE

The invention relates to an intra-ruminal device comprising a cap, with outlet, that overlaps a portion of the barrel to define an attachment zone. Located within the attachment zone is at least one protrusion providing a localised point of contact between the barrel wall and the internal sidewall of the cap to provide for an ultrasonic weld between the barrel and the cap. Optionally the plunger comprises at least one aperture to allow fluid or gas communication between first and second compartments in the barrel. Optionally included are at least one pair of resilient wings, each pair of wings having a pair of reinforcement ridge that extend a first distance from the body along the wing surface, and at least one middle reinforcement ridge that extends between the pair of ridges from the body a second distance, and where the second distance is less than the first distance.

DEVICES AND METHOD FOR BI-DIRECTIONAL ADJUSTMENT OF INTRAGASTRIC BALLOONS, AND SHUT-OFF VALVE
20240050254 · 2024-02-15 ·

The present devices and method are related to treatments for obesity and for bi-directional adjustment (inflation/deflation) of intragastric balloons, thus allowing the inflation or deflation of the volume of the intragastric balloon already in a patient's stomach. A first device is configured to be introduced into the valve of the intragastric balloon and to be retained therein, and comprising a coupling element coupled to the body of the first device and configured to project outwards from the valve of the intragastric balloon. A second device comprising a tubular extension is configured to pass through the valve of the intragastric balloon, thus neutralizing its valve effect and allowing the bi-directional adjustment of same. A method is disclosed that carries out the steps of positioning an intragastric balloon already in the stomach using the first device. A shut-off valve configuration is disclosed for use with an implantable catheter.
