Aerosol provision system having a base for supporting one or more receptacles
An aerosol provision system includes one or more receptacles each forming a respective central space, a base adapted to support the or each receptacle, the or each receptacle being removable from the base and at least a first airflow generator, operable to draw air through at least a first aerosol generator, wherein the base includes one or more outlets through which, in operation, aerosolized payload is directed to flow from the base into the central space of a respective receptacle and the or each receptacle comprises a first opening through which the user can inhale the aerosolized payload.
Deformation resistant wound therapy apparatus and related methods of use
The wound therapy apparatus may include a wound interface sealingly securable to the skin surface around a wound bed to encloses the wound bed within an enclosed space that is fluid-tight. The wound interface may be sufficiently deformation resistant to distend at least a portion of the wound bed into the enclosed space when pressure p.sub.0 within the enclosed space is less than ambient pressure p.sub.amb. Fluid may be communicated with the enclosed space when the wound interface is sealingly secured to the skin surface in order to vary a pressure p.sub.0 within the enclosed space periodically over the pressure range p.sub.min≤p.sub.0≤p.sub.max. The variation of the pressure p.sub.0 may distend the wound bed into communication with a pad received within the enclosed space and decreases the wound bed contact with the pad. Related methods of use of the wound therapy apparatus are also disclosed.
Medicine storage cartridge with nozzle, sprayer therefor, and powdered medicine dispensing device for nasal cavity
A nozzled cartridge (20) for storing medicine, according to an aspect of the present application, includes a medicine container (21) that is to be filled with a predetermined quantity of a powdered medicine, a nozzle portion (22) that is formed on the medicine container (21) and that ejects the powdered medicine, a closing member (24) that closes an opening (22a) in the nozzle portion (22), and a valve member (25) that functions as a plug to close another opening (23a) in the medicine container (21), and that is opened when administering medicine. The nozzled cartridge (20) is detachably mountable to a sprayer (30) when administering medicine.
DRAINAGE SHUNT DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DRAINING ASCITES FLUID FROM PERITONEAL CAVITIES
A shunt for draining fluid including a first catheter, an electronic pump fluidly coupled to the first catheter, a manual pump fluidly coupled to the electronic pump, a second catheter fluidly coupled to the manual pump. During a drainage operation, the shunt arranged and configured such that a fluid is passively pressure-driven through the shunt, and the electronic pump is arranged to prevent blockages within the shunt by flowing a bolus of the fluid through the shunt. Additionally, the manual pump is arranged to prevent blockages within the shunt by flowing a bolus of the fluid through the shunt in the event that the electronic pump cannot produce a bolus of the fluid.
DISPENSER DEVICE FOR DELIVERY OF COMPOSITIONS INTO VAGINAL OR ANAL ORIFICES
A dispenser device for delivering a composition into an anal or vaginal orifice includes an applicator having a shaft, one or more channels, and a plurality release ports. The shaft may extend from a tip to a base and have an outer surface. The plurality of release ports may be positioned along the outer surface of the shaft, and the one or more channels may extend through the shaft and be in fluid communication with the plurality of release ports.
Scalp Treatment Applicator Assembly
A scalp treatment applicator assembly includes a tube which contains a fluid scalp treatment. A cone is fluidly coupled to the tube and the cone is in fluid communication with an interior of the tube to receive the fluid scalp treatment. The cone tapers to point to penetrate the user's hair to apply the fluid scalp treatment to the user's scalp without disturbing the user's hair. A bulb is removably attachable to the tube and the bulb is comprised of a resiliently deformable material such that the bulb can be compressed by the user. The bulb is in fluid communication with an interior of the tube when the bulb is attached to the tube to urge the fluid scalp treatment outwardly through the cone when the bulb is compressed.
Surgical stapler apparatus and method
A surgical stapler apparatus or assembly comprises a surgical stapler device having an internal channel extending from a stapler actuating handle to a stapler head of the device and a gas insufflation device having a pressurized gas supply connected to the internal channel of the stapler device via an inlet port at a handle portion intersecting with the channel in order to supply pressurized gas to the channel as the stapler shaft is inserted into the lumen of a colon, rectum or the like. Pressurized gas travels along the channel and out of the stapler head at the distal end of the stapler device in order to inflate the lumen ahead of the advancing stapler head, easing insertion.
MECHANICAL VACUUM DRESSING FOR MECHANICALLY MANAGING, PROTECTING AND SUCTIONING SMALL INCISIONAL WOUNDS
A mechanical vacuum dressing comprising: a first valve layer comprising a first one-way valve; a second valve layer comprising a second one-way valve; the first valve layer being joined to the second valve layer so as to define a chamber therebetween; the first one-way valve being configured to admit fluid into the chamber through the first one-way valve but prevent fluid from exiting the chamber through the first one-way valve; the second one-way valve being configured to exhaust fluid from the chamber through the second one-way valve but prevent fluid from entering the chamber through the second one-way valve; and the second valve layer comprising an elastomeric material such that (i) when the second valve layer is moved away from the first valve layer, the volume of the chamber is increased, and (ii) when the second valve layer is thereafter released, the second valve layer moves back towards the first valve layer and the volume of the chamber is decreased.
