DEVICE FOR DISPENSING A FLUID PRODUCT
A device for dispensing a fluid product, having a body (1) and a dispensing head (2) with a dispensing orifice (3) and axially movable. The body receives a vessel (10) containing one or two doses of product. The device has an electronic module (100) with a wireless communication module (101), a geographical location module (102), and a power source (103). The device has a sensor system (201, 202) for detecting and automatically signalling an attempt to use the device, the sensor system having a first sensor (201) arranged on the dispensing head (2) and a second sensor (202) on the body, the sensor system detecting handling representative of an attempt to use the device when the first and second sensors (201, 202) are activated simultaneously, the wireless communication module designed to make an automatic emergency call when the sensor system detects handling representative of an attempt to use the device.
CHARGER FOR A VAPORIZER DEVICE
A charging system for charging a vaporizer device is described. The charger may be adapted to control the output voltage to the vaporizer device, thus improving charging efficiency and reducing waste heat generation. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also described.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR SANITIZING/DISINFECTING MEDICAL DEVICES
A method of sanitizing at least a portion of a medical device with a sanitization system comprising a base comprising a sanitizing chamber, a sanitizing gas generator, a primary fan or pump, a secondary fan or pump, and a controller. The sanitizing operation comprising generating a sanitizing gas pulse including causing the sanitizing gas generator supplying a sanitizing gas and causing at least one of the primary fan or pump and the secondary fan or pump to operate for a pulse period, and conducting a dwell operation after the pulse period, the dwell operation comprising discontinuing supply of said sanitizing gas and slowing or stopping said primary fan or pump and said secondary fan or pump for a dwell time.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH USAGE MONITORING
A medicament delivery device is presented having a housing that is arranged to accommodate a medicament container, a drive unit operably arranged to act on the medicament container upon activation, an activation mechanism operably arranged to be operated by a user, an activation preventing mechanism operably arranged to prevent the activation mechanism to be activated, an usage management module arranged to be operated by a user, which usage management module is designed as an attachable unit to the medicament delivery device. First keying elements are arranged on the device and on the usage management module designed to interact with each other when attaching said usage management module, such as to cause a deactivation of the activation preventing mechanism to allow operation of the activation mechanism. The usage management module can include a monitoring circuit arranged to monitor the use of the medicament delivery device.
VAPORIZATION DEVICE WITH LIP SENSING
Apparatuses, including systems and devices (“vaporizers”), for vaporizing material to form an inhalable aerosol that include capacitive lips sensing to regulate the temperature of the vaporizer, including transiently boosting the temperature. Methods of operating a vaporizer having a capacitive lip sensor are also described.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING AND MONITORING INHALATIONS
Described herein are an interactive apparatus and methods for sensing and measuring real-time characteristic patterns of a subject's use of a dry powder inhalation system. The inhaler device can be used in a wireless communication mode to communicate with a display to assess the subject's usage of the inhalation system concurrently as the inhalation is performed and thus the subject's inhalation can be evaluated as well as the performance of the inhalation system. The system can also detect the identity of the medicament, its dosage, lot, expiration, etc. and the characteristics profile of a dry powder formulation emitted from the inhalation system in use.
VAPORIZER RELATED SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS
A personal vapor inhaling unit is disclosed. An electronic flameless vapor inhaler unit that may simulate a cigarette has a cavity that receives a cartridge in the distal end of the inhaler unit. The cartridge brings a substance to be vaporized in contact with a wick. When the unit is activated, and the user provides suction, the substance to be vaporized is drawn out of the cartridge, through the wick, and is atomized by the wick into a cavity containing a heating element. The heating element vaporizes the atomized substance. The vapors then continue to be pulled by the user through a mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover where they may be inhaled.
Cartridges For Vaporizer Devices
Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include first and second storage chambers each configured to hold a respective fraction of a vaporizable material, a vaporization chamber that includes an elongate member that is in fluid communication with the first and second storage chambers and configured to receive the vaporizable material, a magnetic element disposed within a channel of the elongate member, and a conductive element that is configured to generate a first motive force to drive the magnetic element between first and second positions and further configured to substantially vaporize the vaporizable material within the elongate member. Vaporizer devices are also provided.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STANDARDIZING SITE ASSESSMENT OF CATHETER INSERTION SITE
A method for site assessments of a catheter insertion site and/or dressing includes: scanning the catheter insertion site and/or dressing with an image capture device and/or sensor; selecting a patient baseline site location and skin tone; recording a baseline condition using a computing device; determining a site assessment rate using a computing device; prompting a clinician to make a site assessment of the catheter insertion site and/or dressing using a computing device; and recording site assessment information in an electronic medical record using a computing device.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING USER INTERACTION WITH A RESPIRATORY THERAPY DEVICE
Disclosed are apparatus and methods of detecting user interaction with a respiratory therapy device and effecting an action in response to the detection. The apparatus comprises a sensor which is positioned so as to detect the presence of a user's hand or fingers near to the apparatus, such as a surface or handle. In embodiments the apparatus may be configured to detect gestures or movement of the user. On detection of a user, the apparatus may be configured to effect one or more actions, such as disabling a feature of an input or output device or alerting a user.
