Noninvasive, Regional Brain Thermal Stimulation for Inducing Relaxation
Methods, systems and devices for reducing anxiety, including increasing relaxation and/or calm. In some variations these methods may include reducing anxiety, increase relaxation and/or calm by non-invasive temperature regulation of the frontal cortex prior to and/or during sleep. The subject may have an anxiety disorder, or may not have a diagnosed anxiety disorder.
Transportable device, system and method for providing a cooled, oxygen-containing gas flow
The present disclosure relates to a transportable device for providing a cooled, oxygen-containing gas flow for supplying to a body of mammal via the respiratory tract, in particular a human being, in order to lower the body temperature. The device comprises a storage device comprising at least one fluid reservoir and at least one heat exchanger, wherein the storage device is designed to store an oxygen-containing fluid in the fluid reservoir and for providing a discharge flow of the oxygen-containing fluid. The heat exchanger is designed to cool the provided discharge flow by transferring heat to a cooling stream of a stored fluid and provided by the storage device, and a cooled, oxygen-containing gas flow for supplying to the body emerges from the heat exchanger.
Thermogenic Airway Management Device and Methods
A thermogenic emergency airway management device configured to prevent or treat hypothermia in a patient. The device may be configured to receive inlet air and modify one or more properties of the inlet air to output air at a temperature and/or humidity associated with the prevention and/or treatment of hypothermia. In an embodiment, the device may receive input via a user interface to determine a temperature and/or humidity associated with the air to be output to the patient. In an embodiment, the input may additionally include an amount of air to be output to the patient. In such an embodiment, the device may be configured to cause the amount of air to be output to the patient to prevent and/or treat hypothermia.
NON-INVASIVE BRAIN TEMPERATURE REGULATING DEVICES FOR ENHANCING SLEEP
Methods, systems and devices for enhancing sleep, including enhancing the quality of sleep, reducing sleep onset time, increasing total sleep time, treating insomnia, and/or treating other neurological disorders by non-invasive temperature regulation of the frontal cortex prior to and/or during sleep. Described herein are thermal applicators that include phase change materials and/or evaporative cooling, as well as headgear for securing the applicators comfortably against the appropriate region of the user's head.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING CELLULAR AND BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS USING ULTRASOUND FOR WOUND TREATMENT AND HEALING
One embodiment is directed to a non-contact, medical ultrasound therapy system for generating and controlling low frequency ultrasound for the delivery of fluids containing biologic or cellular materials. The ultrasound therapy system includes a treatment wand including an ultrasonic transducer, a generator unit, and a cable coupling the treatment wand to the generator unit. The generator unit generates electric power output to drive the ultrasonic transducer and includes a digital frequency generator.
HEATER-COOLER SYSTEM
A heater-cooler apparatus of an extracorporeal perfusion system comprises at least one fluid circuit (102, 104) providing a supply of a heat transfer fluid to the perfusion system, a cold storage unit (266), and a refrigeration unit (250) for charging the cold storage unit (266). The cold storage unit (266) comprises a chamber (312) containing a liquid that freezes at a temperature above that to which the heat transfer fluid is cooled by the refrigeration unit (250), and a passage through which the heat transfer fluid is conveyed, the passage extending through the chamber (312). This allows a more effective cold storage unit to be provided.
SYSTEMS FOR ENHANCING SLEEP
Methods, devices and systems for improving sleep (including reducing sleep onset and maintenance of sleep duration), enhancing, or increasing sleep, including (but not limited to) treating sleeping disorders such as insomnia.
Systems for enhancing sleep
Methods, devices and systems for improving sleep (including reducing sleep onset and maintenance of sleep duration), enhancing, or increasing sleep, including (but not limited to) treating sleeping disorders such as insomnia.
Cold and heat exchange system for cardiac surgical operation with cardiac arrest
A cold and heat exchange system for a cardiac surgical operation with cardiac arrest, comprising: an ice water tank (15), a primary circulation water tank (11), and a secondary circulation water tank (16). Side walls of the primary circulation water tank (11) and the secondary circulation water tank (16) are each provided with an overflow orifice which is connected to the ice water tank (15) through a circulation pipe (14). A first roller pump (12) is mounted on a first hose (13). A second roller pump (18) is mounted on a second hose (17). The primary circulation water tank (11) is mounted on a first loop (5) and a second loop (6). The secondary circulation water tank (16) is mounted on a third loop (1).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DRUG DELIVERY
Disclosed are example embodiments of methods and systems for inducing drug to thoroughly mix in a patient's vitreous humor. One of the systems includes: a heat transfer pad that transfer heat to or from the eyeball; and a control module electronically coupled to the heat transfer pad for controlling one or more heat transfer elements disposed thereon.
