The article also includes a liquid retention medium, at least a portion the liquid retention medium being located between the distal end and the mid-point, wherein the article is configured to allow air to be drawn through the article from the distal end to the outlet end.

Respiratory apparatus with multiple power supplies
11684735 · 2023-06-27 · ·

A respiratory apparatus includes components to permit different operations of the apparatus with different power supplies. For example, a respiratory therapy apparatus for controlling a respiratory therapy may include a power input circuit to receive a first power or a second power. The first power may be provided by a connectable low-power power supply and the second power by a connectable high-power power supply. A controller of the respiratory apparatus coupled to the power input circuit may be configured to detect one of the power supplies, and based on the detection, selectively activate one of a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. The first mode of operation may be a non-therapy mode with the first power such as for a data setup or data transfer with the respiratory therapy apparatus and the second mode of operation may be a therapy mode with the second power.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING MIGRAINES

An injection tool and associated methods are shown. Example tools and methods described provide cooling to numb a local area prior to an injection. The local numbing can be used to reduce or eliminate pain associated with the subsequent injection. In selected examples, circuitry and one or more sensors are used to calculate an appropriate contact time of a heat sink with the local region to best provide a desired amount of numbing.

METHOD OF FORMING AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH RETENTION MEDIUM

A treatment system includes a delivery device which delivers a combination of a breathing gas and frozen ice or other particles to a patient in order to induce hypothermia. The treatment system also includes a temperature system for measuring the temperature of exhaled gases and a controller which can adjust the duration or rate at which the ice particles are delivered in order to control the patient's core temperature based on the measured exhalation gas temperature.

ROCK INSERT FOR SMOKING OR VAPING
20220160028 · 2022-05-26 ·

A rock insert for use with smoking or vaping paraphernalia such as a smoking pipe. The rock insert includes a porous body having an interior including first and second interior regions for holding smokable or vaping material, and a closed bottom. The porous body includes a plurality of pores, or vesicles having different shapes and dimensions that are randomly formed to absorb heat generated by an external heating source. The porous body effectively absorbs heat, and gradually and evenly distributes heat in a controlled manner to the smokable or vaping material to produce a gaseous vapor for human consumption. The rock insert is compatible for use with heat sensitive concentrates that can be heated slowly without burning or combusting quickly. In one embodiment, the rock insert includes a first interior formed in one end of the porous body, and a second interior formed in another end of the porous body, opposite the one end, to provide alternative interiors for holding smokable and/or vaping materials therein.
