Delivery of respiratory therapy
A patient interface includes a sealing arrangement adapted to provide an effective seal with the patient's nose, an inlet conduit arrangement adapted to deliver breathable gas to the sealing arrangement, and a cover that substantially encloses the sealing arrangement and/or the inlet conduit arrangement.
Delivery of respiratory therapy using a detachable manifold
An air delivery system for providing a supply of air from a source of air at positive pressure to an interfacing structure located at the entrance to the airways of a patient includes a manifold adapted to connect with the supply of positive air pressure and at least one tube connected to the manifold and adapted to deliver the supply of air to the interfacing structure. Each tube is structured to allow movement between an open phase in which the tube allows the passage of air and a collapsed phase in which the tube is collapsed. Each tube is structured such that weight of a typical patient's head against bedding apparel is sufficient to collapse the tube from the open phase to the collapsed phase.
Breathing detection apparatus
An apparatus including a tubular channel having a pathway extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the tubular channel. The proximal end is configured to connect directly or indirectly to an end tidal CO.sub.2 monitor. The distal end has an opening. The apparatus further includes a detection member including a chamber disposed in fluid communication with the pathway of the tubular channel such that gas entering the tubular channel via the opening on the distal end passes into the chamber. A detection element is disposed within the chamber and includes a component that is sensitive to one or more systemic biomarkers such that, upon exposure to a predetermined concentration level of the one or more systemic biomarkers contained in the gas, a state of the detection element experiences a permanent alteration and the detection member indicates that the predetermined concentration level of the one or more systemic biomarkers is present in the gas.
DELIVERY OF RESPIRATORY THERAPY
AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD UTILIZING A FLAVORING RESERVOIR
There can be provided a device configured to impart flavoring to an airstream admitted the device prior to the airstream reaching an aerosol generator of the device, the device thereby operable to deliver a flavored aerosol from an outlet.
Airflow management for vaporizer device
A vaporization device includes a cartridge having a reservoir that holds a vaporizable material, a heating element, and a wicking element that can draw the vaporizable material to the heating element to be vaporized. The wicking element can include two ends in contact with the reservoir. The cartridge can include an airflow control feature for controlling airflow in the cartridge.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING SPREAD OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE
Disclosed herein are personal protection equipment systems which provide improved protection from infectious agents, and can be constructed and distributed in high volume during public health crises, such as global pandemics where supplies become limited and bioterrorism events where public panic and uncertainty can provide additional obstacles to conventional protective measures. Methods of implementing protective equipment are also disclosed herein. The protective biohazard equipment disclosed herein can be made in a short amount of time at a low cost using readily available materials.
Method for administering an inhalable compound
A method may include dispensing a dose of an inhalable compound according to a dosing instruction set; and maintaining a hands-free article for dispensing the inhalable compound in an operable dispensing position.
SCENT INFUSED NASAL CANNULA AND METHODS OF USE AND FABRICATION THEREOF
Scent infused nasal cannulas, scent infused nasal cannula assemblies, methods of providing scents to subjects, and methods of fabricating scent infused nasal cannulas. The scent infused nasal cannulas and scent infused nasal cannula assemblies include a tubular body, a pair of narine projections, and fluid supply tubes. The tubular body and the pair of narine projections are formed from a scent infused polymer. The methods of providing scents to subjects include attaching a scent infused nasal cannula to a subject and delivering a fluid from a fluid source to the subject during the emission period of the scent infused polymer such that the scent is detectable therefrom. The methods of fabricating scent infused nasal cannulas include providing a scent infused nose piece and attaching fluid supply tubes to the nose piece and to a fluid source.
Vaporizable material handling for electronic vapor device
An electronic vapor device is disclosed comprising a first container for storing a vaporizable material, a vaporizer component coupled to the first container, configured for vaporizing the vaporizable material, a processor coupled to the vaporizer component, configured to control the vaporizer component in response to a disposition signal, and a network access device, coupled to the processor, configured for receiving the disposition signal from a remote server.
