MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
A medicament delivery device is presented having a housing that is arranged to accommodate a medicament container; a drive unit operably arranged to act on the medicament container upon activation; an activation mechanism operably arranged to be operated by a user; an activation preventing mechanism operably arranged to prevent said activation mechanism to be activated; an identification module arranged to be operated by a user, which identification module is designed as an attachable unit to the medicament delivery device; mechanical keying elements arranged on said device and on said identification module designed to interact with each other when attaching said identification module; first electrical keying elements comprised in said identification module, wherein said electrical keying elements are capable of obtaining identification information, such that the identification information obtained is compared to stored data and authenticated by the identification module, and wherein the authentication causes a deactivation of the activation preventing mechanism to allow operation of the activation mechanism.
Drug injection device
A cartridge adapter includes: a cartridge holder having a space that can accommodate therein a drug cartridge, the drug cartridge including a cylinder having a tubular internal space extending in a longitudinal direction, a gasket supported in the internal space so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction, and a drug held in the internal space; a piston that moves the gasket in the longitudinal direction in the internal space of the cylinder; a piston guide that movably supports the piston and connected to the cartridge holder; and a piston driving mechanism that drives the piston in the longitudinal direction.
Smoking device
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a portion of plant material that includes at least one active ingredient. A vaporizing unit includes a heating element configured to heat the plant material, and a sensor configured to detect an indication of airflow rate through the vaporizing unit. Control circuitry is configured to receive an indication of the airflow rate through the vaporizing unit, and, in response thereto, to determine a smoking profile that is desired by the user. The control circuitry drives the heating element to vaporize the active ingredient of the plant material by heating the plant material according to the determined smoking profile. The control circuitry dynamically updates the smoking profile in response to changes in airflow rate over the course of a smoking session. Other applications are also described.
FOAM INHALATION DEVICE AND CARTRIDGE
A foam inhalation device (874) for dispensing a foam to be inhaled by a user. The inhalation device (874) comprises a foam-generating component for generating the foam, an outlet (882) for dispensing the foam to the user, and a fluid flow path which fluidly communicates the foam-generating component with the outlet (882). The foam is generatable by the foam-generating component and flows to the outlet (882) via the fluid flow path to be inhaled by the user.
Catheter insertion systems
Disclosed catheter insertion systems enable the user to identify the location of the needle based on the electrical properties of subcutaneous tissue relative the electrical properties of other fluids such as blood or air. Disclosed systems can include one or more of the following features: 1) the catheter assembly is modular (e.g., the catheter can be connected and disconnected from the detection unit at will); 2) the detection unit employs an electrical circuit that allows for the discernment between subcutaneous tissue and blood; 3) the system assists the end user with catheter advancement. Some embodiments can be used to insert catheters into a spaces where the needle passes first through subcutaneous fat and muscle before entering fluid or air.
Relocation module and methods for surgical equipment
Modules for housing electronic and electromechanical medical equipment including a system to measure and record administration of one or more IV medications or fluids for IV administration.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING A BENEFICIAL AGENT TO A USER
A device for delivering a beneficial agent is provided and generally includes a cassette, a pump, and a delivery tube. The pump includes a pump housing containing a pump assembly having a fluid drive component. The pump housing has a receiving region disposed proximate the fluid drive component and further includes a rear closure portion. The rear closure portion includes a membrane disposed between the receiving region and the fluid drive component. The cassette includes a cassette housing, which has a cassette body region defining a fluid reservoir chamber therein. The cassette further includes a cassette base region having a boundary configured to be received by the receiving region.

A humidification system can include a heater base, a chamber, and a breathing circuit. The heater base includes a heater plate positioned in a recessed region, and a heat conductive portion of the chamber is configured to contact the heater plate. The heater base includes a guard configured to control movement of the chamber into and out of the recessed region. The guard includes an anti-racking mechanism. The chamber includes an inlet port, an outlet port. A downward extension extends into the chamber from the inlet port, and a baffle is disposed at a lower end of the downward extension. A component of the breathing circuit can include a conduit hanging end cap for shipping and storage. The end cap can include a hanging component to allow the breathing circuit component to be hung from a medical stand. The system can detect when breathing circuits are connected in reverse.
Aerosol Generation Device with Low Power Mode
An aerosol generation device includes an internal clock, a communication interface, and a controller. The controller is configured to record one or more events and apply one or more internal timestamps respectively to the one or more events, the one or more initial timestamps relative to an initial internal time point; receive, by the communication interface, a present external time point; update the internal clock from a present internal time point, relative to the initial internal time point, to the present external time point; and adjust the one or more internal timestamps respectively to one or more external timestamps based upon the difference between the present internal time point and the present external time point.
MEDICATION ERROR DETECTION SYSTEM
Various embodiments are provided herein for checking proper inclusion and sequencing of drug modules in a combinatorial drug delivery device.
