SIEVE BED ASSEMBLY WITH AN IDENTIFICATION DEVICE
A sieve bed assembly monitoring system is disclosed. The system includes a sieve bed assembly including a canister having an intake; adsorbent material to produce oxygen enriched air from compressed air in a swing adsorption process; and an identification device including identification data for the sieve bed assembly, wherein the identification data is capable of uniquely identifying the sieve bed assembly. The system includes an oxygen concentrator having a retention mechanism to retain the sieve bed assembly, a compressor supplying compressed air to the intake of the canister, a controller, a transceiver and a reader operable to read the identification data from the identification device. The controller reads the identification data and transmits the read identification data via the transceiver. A remote external device receives the read identification data from transceiver.
Systems and methods for manufacturing and safety of an NO.SUB.2.-to-NO reactor cartridge used to deliver NO for inhalation therapy to a patient
The principles and embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and systems for safely providing NO to a recipient for inhalation therapy. There are many potential safety issues that may arise from using a reactor cartridge that converts NO.sub.2 to NO, including exhaustion of consumable reactants of the cartridge reactor. Accordingly, various embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods of determining the remaining useful life of a NO.sub.2-to-NO reactor cartridge and/or a breakthrough of NO.sub.2, and providing an indication of the remaining useful life and/or breakthrough.
Logging device for drug delivery device
An add-on logging device (100, 300) mounted to a drug delivery device is turned on when the cap is removed. After a given amount of time in inactivity the sensor means of the add-on device is turned off automatically to save energy. If the user takes a dose of drug this is not detected as the add-on device is only turned on when the cap is removed. According to the present invention a warning message is provided when the cap is re-mounted after the sensor means has been turned off automatically, the warning message indicating to a user that an expelled dose may not have been detected.
Drug delivery device
A drug delivery device that includes a housing. The housing contains a syringe, and the syringe includes a container containing a liquid medicament. The container includes an aperture at a distal end and through which the liquid medicament can be dispensed. The syringe includes a stopper within the container. The stopper is moveable between a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position relative to the container, to cause dispensing of the liquid medicament through the aperture. The syringe includes at least one identifying means identifying the liquid medicament.
CAREGIVER CONNECTED WEARABLE
In various embodiments, a caregiver module is provided for use with a patient medical device, including a sensor to obtain a sensor signal related to the use of the patient medical device; an analog-to-digital converter to convert the sensor signal to corresponding sensor data; and a controller to transmit the sensor data to a wearable device, wherein the sensor data is transmitted in the same form as created by the converter. Various embodiments provide a wearable device for processing sensor data received from the caregiver module, including: memory storing processing instructions for interpreting sensor data of multiple types; and a processor to: receive configuration information associated with the caregiver module, receive sensor data of a first type from the caregiver module, and execute the processing instructions based on the configuration information, wherein the configuration information alters the operation of the processing instructions to interpret sensor data of the first type.
MEDICAL LABELING APPARATUS WITH DRUG INFORMATION
Provided is a labeling apparatus that generates a label for labeling a drug container at a healthcare facility. The labeling apparatus includes a code reader that reads a computer-readable code encoding a drug to be stored by the drug container and transmits a signal indicative of the identity of the drug in response to reading the computer-readable code. A non-transitory computer-readable memory stores a drug formulary comprising a plurality of drug entries. A processing component is configured to identify, from the formulary, the identity of the drug corresponding to the computer-readable code and receives a patient identity from a computer-accessible source. A printer is operable to print label content identifying the specific drug onto a label that is to be applied to the drug container. The label content includes the identity of the drug and the patient identity encoded by a label code that is computer-readable.
PROTECTIVE MEDICAL DEVICE FACEPLATE
Devices are provided that include a faceplate for a medical device. In embodiments, an identifier chip adapted to be affixed to an exterior portion of a faceplate provides a unique identifier for the faceplate. Accordingly, the identifier chip enables tracking and monitoring of an associated medical device. And, in embodiments, the faceplate includes a visual communication alert indicator to enable the faceplate to provide visual cues a user. As such, the status of the medical device and the faceplate can be easily communicated to the user. Methods to use the faceplate are also provided.
Drug injection device
A cartridge adapter includes: a cartridge holder having a space that can accommodate therein a drug cartridge, the drug cartridge including a cylinder having a tubular internal space extending in a longitudinal direction, a gasket supported in the internal space so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction, and a drug held in the internal space; a piston that moves the gasket in the longitudinal direction in the internal space of the cylinder; a piston guide that movably supports the piston and connected to the cartridge holder; and a piston driving mechanism that drives the piston in the longitudinal direction.
Intelligent bioelectric module for use with drug delivery system
An intelligent bioelectric module for use with a drug delivery system has a case and a set of at least two electrodes in electrical communication with a detection surface of the case. The case is configured so that, in use, the detection surface comes into electrical communication with (i) a second surface of the delivery system when a first surface of the delivery system has been put into contact with a tissue surface of a human or animal subject or (ii) the tissue surface that is adjacent to a portion contacted by the first surface of the delivery system or (iii) both the second surface and the tissue surface.
Smoking device
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a portion of plant material that includes at least one active ingredient. A vaporizing unit includes a heating element configured to heat the plant material, and a sensor configured to detect an indication of airflow rate through the vaporizing unit. Control circuitry is configured to receive an indication of the airflow rate through the vaporizing unit, and, in response thereto, to determine a smoking profile that is desired by the user. The control circuitry drives the heating element to vaporize the active ingredient of the plant material by heating the plant material according to the determined smoking profile. The control circuitry dynamically updates the smoking profile in response to changes in airflow rate over the course of a smoking session. Other applications are also described.
