The invention relates to a system for treating a biological fluid such as blood or a blood component by selective removal of a target substance, comprising a treatment bag (2) provided with at least one inlet orifice (3) and at least one outlet orifice (4), said treatment bag containing a set of particles (5) having an affinity for the target substance, said set comprising small particles having a size of less than 15 μm, said system further comprising a barrier means (6) composed of at least one porous membrane made of a hydrophilic material, the pores of said membrane being calibrated to a size suitable for preventing the passage of said small particles, namely less than 3 μm.

VENTILATION TREATMENT DEVICE AND VENTILATION-CONTROL METHOD
20230044299 · 2023-02-09 · ·

A ventilation treatment device and a ventilation-control method are provided. During use, when a headband contacts a headrest, a first valve assembly contacts a second valve assembly to open first air holes and second air holes, thereby communicating a first chamber with a second chamber, such that air from an air source into the first chamber enters the second chamber and further enters a respiratory chamber of a patient connecting apparatus for inhalation by a patient; and when the headband is separated from the headrest, the first valve assembly and the second value assembly are separated to close the first air holes and the second air holes, thereby preventing the air in the first chamber and the second chamber from flowing out through the first air holes and the second air holes, respectively.

Injection devices for delivering pharmaceutical compositions into the eye are described. Some devices include a resistance component for controllably deploying an injection needle through the eye wall. The resistance component may be disposed on the injector device, or on a portion of the injection device housing, or on a drug reservoir. Some devices may be removably attached to a drug reservoir, for example, through a luer connector. Other devices may comprise internal luer seal for securely connecting a drug conduit of the device to the luer cavity of a drug reservoir. Yet other devices may comprise a priming-enabling element to facilitate the drug priming of a shielded needle. Related methods and systems comprising the devices are also described.

FLUID EXCHANGE APPARATUS FOR EXPANDABLE PORT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE

A device for injecting a therapeutic agent into an ocular implant at least partially implanted in an eye including an injection lumen providing a pathway for injecting the therapeutic agent into the implant; an outlet lumen providing a pathway for pre-existing fluid in the ocular implant to exit the implant; and a collection chamber fluidly coupled to the outlet lumen that provides a first fluid outflow resistance and a second fluid outflow resistance. The first fluid outflow resistance is lower than a first resistance to outflow of the implant. The second fluid outflow resistance is greater than a force imparted onto the implant by intraocular pressure of the eye. Injection of therapeutic agent into the implant via the injection lumen causes the pre-existing fluid to exit the implant and enter the collection chamber via the outlet lumen and causes a second pre-existing fluid to displace from the collection chamber.

ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE

A device for irrigation of an oral cavity in a patient includes a suction element configured to be disposed in the oral cavity and configured to suction a fluid out of the oral cavity. The suction element also has one or more irrigation outlets configured to irrigate the oral cavity with the fluid. A suction line is fluidly coupled with the suction element and is configured to be fluidly coupled with a vacuum source. An irrigation line is fluidly coupled with the one or more irrigation outlets and is fluidly coupled with a source of the fluid.

Control for respiratory device

The operational parameters of a respiratory apparatus can be controlled through the use of a user interface located on a separate or separable mobile computing device. Sensors or features located on the mobile computing apparatus can be used to adjust the operation parameters or therapy of the respiratory apparatus or otherwise improve the compliance of a patient utilizing the respiratory apparatus.

Fluid collection canister with integrated moisture trap

A moisture trap for removing liquid from a fluid drawn from a tissue site treated with reduced pressure and systems and methods for using the same are described. The moisture trap may include a barrier adapted to be fluidly coupled to and define an indirect fluid path between a fluid reservoir and a reduced-pressure source. The barrier may have a hydrophilic surface. The moisture trap also may include a sump adapted to receive condensation from the barrier.
