A respiratory device can include an oxygen generator and a ventilator. The oxygen generator can include a first inlet to ambient air, a vacuum or pressure swing oxygen generating system in fluid communication with the first inlet, a first fluid pathway, and a first outlet. The ventilator can include a second inlet to ambient air and a blower in fluid communication with the second inlet to draw ambient air. The ventilator can include a third inlet in fluid communication with the first fluid pathway upstream of the first outlet. The blower can also be in fluid communication with the second inlet to draw at least some of the extracted oxygen. The ventilator can also include a second outlet in fluid communication with the blower to dispense a mixture of the ambient air and the extracted oxygen to the user.

Equipment for the control of biomedical devices during extracorporeal circulation. The equipment includes at least one basic structure and a (e.g., tangible) controller or a control unit/device/component/etc. that is assembled on the basic structure and provided with at least one control unit/etc. operationally connectable to at least one biomedical device for extracorporeal circulation and configured to control it. The controller/etc. comprise at least one emergency control unit, operationally connectable to the biomedical device and configured to control the latter following a malfunction of the control unit.

Humidification system

A humidification system can include a heater base, a chamber, and a breathing circuit. The heater base includes a heater plate positioned in a recessed region, and a heat conductive portion of the chamber is configured to contact the heater plate. The heater base includes a guard configured to control movement of the chamber into and out of the recessed region. The guard includes an anti-racking mechanism. The chamber includes an inlet port, an outlet port. A downward extension extends into the chamber from the inlet port, and a baffle is disposed at a lower end of the downward extension. A component of the breathing circuit can include a conduit hanging end cap for shipping and storage. The end cap can include a hanging component to allow the breathing circuit component to be hung from a medical stand. The system can detect when breathing circuits are connected in reverse.

NASAL CANNULA AND SECUREMENT SYSTEM

A patient interface for respiratory therapy includes a nasal interface having nasal prongs configured to contact nares of the user and form a seal. The patient interface also includes a securement portion having a pair of facial pads, each of the facial pads configured to engage the face of a user on opposing sides of the nasal interface. The facial pads are coupled to the bridging portions configured to urge the nasal interface toward the user's face to create or maintain sealing engagement between the nasal interface and the user's face. In some configurations, the securement portion and the nasal interface are detachably coupled to each other.

A cardiopulmonary bypass system is described that includes a cardiopulmonary bypass machine having a console, the console has a base and a frame connected to the base. The system further comprises a plurality of peripheral modules operatively connectable to the cardiopulmonary bypass machine via one or more cables. The system further comprises a cable chase having a first end and a second end, and a housing that extends at least partially between the first end and second end to at least partially enclose a channel for receiving one or more cables or conduits connected to one or more of the peripheral modules.

The surface configuration includes arrangements where there is a torque differential in one direction or the other as well as arrangements that are adapted to handle both standard fastener configurations and torque enhancement configurations with a common torque enhancement device.

DEVICE FOR CARDIO-PULMONARY RESUSCITATION OF A PATIENT

A device for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation of a patient includes a support base, a swivel support, a mask holder and two lateral support elements. The support base is wedge-shaped in order to support the patient. There are guiding means and swivel elements provided in the support base and in the swivel support. The device makes it possible to adjust the position of the mask holder both vertically and horizontally to adapt to the dimensions of the user via a plurality of toothed elements. The configuration allows the combination with any existing continuous ventilation equipment.

Devices and methods for managing chest or wound drainage are disclosed where in one embodiment, the system generally comprises a chest tube configured for insertion at least partially within a body of a subject, a drainage tube fluidly coupled with the chest tube, a reservoir fluidly coupled with the drainage tube, a pump in communication with the reservoir, and a controller in fluid communication with the drainage tube. The controller may be configured to determine a readiness for removal of the chest tube from the body based upon one or more removal parameters which are obtained over a period of time via the controller.

Urinary catheter-insertion kits can include a working tray, a storage tray, a urinary catheter, and a drainage system including drainage tubing and a drainage receptacle. The working tray can be configured to nest with the storage tray by suspending the working tray from the storage tray. At least the working tray includes a number of preformed sections configured to hold a number of components of the urinary catheter-insertion kit. At least one section of the preformed sections of the working tray includes a catheter section configured to hold the urinary catheter. The storage tray can be configured to hold the drainage system. Methods of urinary catheterization include use of the urinary catheter-insertion kits.
