REDUCED-PRESSURE DRESSING ASSEMBLIES FOR USE IN APPLYING A CLOSING FORCE

A closing dressing bolster and assembly for use with a system for treating a linear wound on a patient includes a bolster body formed from a flexible closing bolster material having closing members that are operable to develop an inward closing force when the closing dressing bolster is placed under reduced pressure. In one aspect, when the closing dressing bolster is under reduced pressure, the system, dressing, or assembly develops an inward force realized at the linear wound and a compression force. A wicking-material holder and wicking material may be used as well. The member components may all be see-through to allow visual inspection of the wound without requiring removal of the dressing.

APPARATUSES FOR THE IMPLANTATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

A medical device may include a shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft may include a lumen therein. The medical device may include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the shaft and may include a mode selector. The mode selector may be adapted to transition between a first mode and a second mode of the medical device. The medical device may further include a compressed fluid source. In the first mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a negative pressure in at least a portion of the lumen. In the second mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a positive pressure in the at least a portion of the lumen.

Systems, kits and methods for preparing an injection system and/or treating target lesions with a selective internal radiation therapy which includes a double-barrel syringe loaded with a two-component tissue glue and radioisotope loaded microspheres. The microspheres are loaded into the syringe based on the size of the target location and are administered with a needle or dual-lumen catheter. Dosing regimens for treating breast cancer lesions or surgical beds up to 130 mm in diameter and hepatocellular carcinoma lesions up to 50 mm are included.

DRESSING FOR BREAST CAVITIES

A dressing for an internal cavity may include a connector, a negative pressure pathway layer, an instillation pathway layer, a negative pressure manifold, and an instillation manifold. The negative pressure manifold can be disposed within the negative pressure pathway layer and the instillation manifold can be disposed within the instillation pathway layer. A proximate end of the negative pressure manifold can be fluidly coupled with a first channel of the connector. The proximate end of the instillation manifold can be fluidly coupled with a second channel of the connector. The negative pressure pathway layer and the instillation pathway layer can be configured to cooperatively form an inner volume therebetween. The inner volume may be configured to receive a space filler. The negative pressure pathway layer, the instillation pathway layer, and the space filler can be collectively configured to be positioned within the internal cavity.

NEGATIVE-PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY DRESSING WITH ZONE OF AMBIENT PRESSURE

Disclosed embodiments may relate to dressings configured to provide negative-pressure wound therapy to a tissue site, while simultaneously shielding a portion of the tissue site from the negative pressure. For example, dressing assembly embodiments may comprise an outer dressing configured for applying negative-pressure wound therapy to a tissue site, and an underlying isolation patch configured for use under the outer dressing. The isolation patch may be configured to seal the portion of the tissue site so that it does not experience the negative pressure. Additionally disclosed are other apparatus, dressings, systems, and methods.

A drain-compatible soft tissue expander can incorporate a drainage structure that allows fluid to be removed from the body of a living subject. The soft tissue expander can include an expandable shell and a drainage structure that can, for example, assist in mitigating or eliminating seromas. The drainage structure can be coupled to the shell at a plurality of locations and be removable therefrom without damaging the expandable shell.

BREAST PUMP SYSTEMS

Systems and methods for pumping milk from a breast responsive to a controller, wherein the milk is expressed from the breast under suction and milk is expulsed from the pumping mechanism to a collection container under positive pressure.
