A connection device includes a tube that is branched to two passages from a branch portion and includes a first and second branch tubes provided on one end side as a liquid-feeding destination, a first protruding plate that includes, on another end side, first another end edge provided in a direction orthogonal to an axis line of the first branch tube and that is provided so as to protrude from an outer circumference portion of the tube, and a second protruding plate that is provided so as to face the first protruding plate across the tube and protrude in a diameter direction of the tube and that includes, on the other end side, second another end edge provided so as to be orthogonal to an axis line of the second branch tube.

Connector assembly for connecting medical lines to each other

A connector assembly for connecting medical lines (3, 4) to each other comprises a first connector (1) having an insertion shaft (12), and a second connector (2) having an insertion opening (22). For connecting the first connector (1) and the second connector (2) to each other, the insertion shaft (12) of the first connector (1) is insertable along an insertion direction (I) into the insertion opening (22) of the second connector (2). For releasing the first connector (1) and the second connector (2) from each other, the insertion shaft (12) of the first connector (1) is removable from the insertion opening (22) of the second connector (2). The first connector (1) comprises an elastic member (14) arranged on the insertion shaft (12), wherein the elastic member (14) comprises an abutment portion (141) abutting a surface (121) of the insertion shaft (12) and being displaceable along the insertion direction (I) relative to the surface (121) of the insertion shaft (12) upon releasing the first connector (1) and the second connector (2) from each other. In this way a connector assembly is provided which, in an easy way, allows for the cleaning of at least the first connector.

Microcatheter system
09844642 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A microcatheter system is disclosed which may include a microcatheter, one or more microcatheter extensions, and/or a microcatheter hub. In an embodiment, the microcatheter has a plurality of zones where the outside diameter of each zone from the distal to the proximal end has an outside diameter that is the same as or greater than the previous zone while the inside diameter is constant throughout the microcatheter length. In a further embodiment, a unique joining mechanism is employed for coupling a microcatheter to a microcatheter extension or to a microcatheter hub.

Valved enteral administration assembly

An enteral administration assembly for administering fluids through an enteral device. The administration assembly comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a valve mechanism between the inlet and outlet. The inlet is configured to interlock with only an enteral device to form a sealed connection allowing the passage of fluid between the enteral device and the inlet. The assembly may include a valve or turbulating mechanism comprising a valve and at least one turbulator adapted to change the direction of fluid flowing through the assembly to prevent clogging and flocculation of administered substances.

Disinfecting luer cap and method of use

Medical devices including a cap for a medical connector are disclosed. In some embodiments, the cap comprises a disinfectant, such as an antiseptic fluid and an insert configured to seal or partially seal the medical connector as it is engaged with the cap. In some embodiments the cap insert has a segment which is deformable under axially applied pressure as an end-user attaches the cap to the medical connector. In some embodiments this insert is configured to improve the exposure of antiseptic to the outer surface of the medical connector while minimizing exposure of the antiseptic inside the medical connector open lumen.

Catheter connection securing quick release

The ergonomic catheter bag quick release is an apparatus in the form of a catheter tubing grip shell for creating a secure connection between a catheter and a catheter collection bag comprising a rigid catheter sleeve having a lever along its length to enable a substantial reduction in strength required to create a positive locked gripping connection over said connection between a catheter and a catheter collection bag. It is a catheter tubing grip shell with an ergonomically shaped lever that enables elderly and strength weakened patients to be able to secure the connection between a catheter and a catheter collection bag with far less than normal adult grip strength. It can optionally be fitted with a compressible sleeve to enable the creation of a water-leak resistant connection between a catheter and a catheter collection bag.

Infusion set

A single package infusion set is provided, including one or more of the following inserters: pushbutton-type, squeeze-type, contact-type, skin pinching-type, folding retraction-type, or multistage-type inserter having at least one reusable stage. The infusion set further includes adhesion means with user-selectable degrees of adhesion strength, self-sealing tube connection means, a lens feature to view, a site beneath the set, exemplary tube management and connection elements, insulin supply, adhesion concealment means, finger loops on the inserter and site preparation wipes or sprays, optionally provided as part of the inserter. The system further includes a package which may hold a number of easily released sets, retrievable by an inserter, an exemplary insertion needle handle and shroud, an exemplary squeeze-type latch between an upper portion and a lower portion of the set, and/or a tool removable upper portion of the set.

Catheter hub and strain relief

A hub defines a lumen with a longitudinal axis along the length of the hub. An outer surface of a distal portion of the hub tapers inwardly toward the longitudinal axis as the distal portion extends distally. A strain relief includes a proximal portion configured to receive the distal portion of the hub. The strain relief defines a lumen that substantially aligns with the hub lumen when the proximal portion receives the hub. The hub and/or strain relief are configured to be fixedly attached to a catheter body such that a catheter body lumen substantially aligns with the hub lumen and the strain relief lumen when the strain relief receives the distal portion of the hub. Outer surfaces of the strain relief and hub define substantially similar distances to the longitudinal axis along an interface between the two outer surfaces when the strain relief receives the hub.
