11547628 · 2023-01-10 · ·

Systems and methods for nasal irrigation are provided in which a nasal irrigation device includes a source of saline solution, an effluent receptacle, a nasal interface, a vacuum source, a fluid passageway to communicate the source of saline solution with the effluent receptacle through the nasal interface and a nasal cavity of a user, and a switch and valve assembly for selectively controlling the vacuum source and flow of the saline solution through the fluid passageway. The source of saline solution is disposed relative to the device to provide gravitational inducement of the saline solution to the nasal interface in engagement to the device user's nostrils. A combination of the gravitational inducement and a relative vacuum from the effluent receptacle generates a fluid flow for irrigating, cleansing and massaging the nasal cavity and ostia of the user. The entire device is assembled as a hand-held device for convenient lifting and disposal against the user's nostrils.

SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING FLUID DRAINAGE
20170348475 · 2017-12-07 ·

A low-cost and simple-to-use system and method to facilitate a prophylactic pleural lavage protocol at the time of thoracostomy tube placement for traumatic hemothorax in order to reduce the need for secondary intervention for the management of retained hemothorax. The invention may be used in conjunction with existing chest tubes and be administered at the time of initial chest tube placement, and continued at the bedside (by a bedside nurse) over the duration of chest drainage, as necessary. The system includes an operator device that semi-automatically administers a pleural lavage protocol consisting of saline instillation, and suction to slow the clotting process, prevent “gelling” of blood, and maintain drainability.

LAVAGE FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE AND SYSTEMS

A system for applying a lavage fluid to a surface, the system having a body configured to house a lavage fluid and at least two interchangeable application members configured to be in fluid communication with the body, wherein the at least two interchangeable application members includes a first application member and a second application member, the first application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a first fluid flow force and/or first fluid flow pattern, and the second application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a second fluid flow force and/or second fluid flow pattern that is different from the first fluid flow force and/or fluid flow pattern, respectively.

LAVAGE FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE AND SYSTEMS

A system for applying a lavage fluid to a surface, the system having a body configured to house a lavage fluid and an application member in fluid communication with the body, wherein the application member has at least one nozzle, wherein the system is configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a first fluid flow force and a first fluid flow pattern, and wherein the nozzle is configured to selectably dispense the lavage fluid with a second fluid flow force and/or a second fluid flow pattern, wherein the second fluid flow force that is different from the first fluid flow force and the second fluid flow pattern is different from the first fluid flow pattern.

Anti-reflux enema bag with pulley restrictor

Disclosed are various embodiments for an anti-reflux enema bag having a pulley restrictor that acts as a waterflow restrictor, where the enema bag is leakproof, easy-to-clean, and provides a steady flow of solution. An enema bag system includes an enema bag, a nozzle comprising a nozzle outlet, and an anti-reflux coupler positioned between the enema bag and the nozzle through which the solution passes from the enema bag to the nozzle outlet. The anti-reflux coupler comprises an inlet for receiving at least a portion of the solution from the enema bag; an outlet for expelling the solution into the nozzle; and a check valve configured to prevent reflux of the solution from the nozzle. The enema bag system further comprises a pulley restrictor configured to selectively control a speed at which the solution is introduced into the nozzle and expelled from the nozzle outlet.
