LIQUID APPLICATOR COMPRISING SINGLE-PIECE BODY
A liquid applicator comprising an absorbent member, and a single-piece, unitary body. The body can include a closed container defining a reservoir, and a tab. The container can include a main portion, a transition portion, a rib, and a chamber located in the tab and coupled to the transition portion via a frangible connection. The main portion, the transition portion, the rib, and the chamber can each define a portion of the reservoir, and at least the main portion, the transition portion, and the rib can have a uniform wall thickness. The tab can include the chamber and can be coupled to the transition portion at least by the frangible connection, the tab being movable with respect to the transition portion between a first position in which the frangible connection is intact and a second position in which the frangible connection is fractured.
Cooling Adjunct For Medications To Treat Disorders In The Nasal Cavity
The present discovery pertains generally to the field of therapeutic compounds. More specifically the present discovery pertains to certain di-alkyl-phosphinoyl-alkanes as described herein, DIPA-1-8 and DIPA-1-9, and 2-6 and 2-7 that are collectively referred to herein as “DAPA compounds”, that are useful in the treatment of disorders (e.g., diseases) including: sensory discomfort (e.g., caused by inflammation, irritation, itch, or pain) in the nasal cavity. The applicant has found that localized delivery of DAPA compounds in combination with an intranasal steroid or an intranasal antihistamine immediately relieves nasal discomfort and enhances patient adherence to the use of the nasal medications.
Dispensing applicator for fluids
A hand-held dispensing applicator comprising a source of fluid, a frangible applicator tip attached to the fluid source, and an absorbent member attached to the frangible applicator tip. When the frangible applicator tip is broken, fluid flows from the source to the absorbent member, whereby the fluid is applied and spread on a surface. Preferably, the frangible applicator tip comprises a support element permanently connected to the fluid source, a relatively rigid tongue element extending outwardly of the support element, and a frangible region therebetween. Preferably, the tongue element comprises ribs for reinforcing the tongue element to resist unintentional breaking of the frangible region, and the applicator tip comprises a semi-permeable or non-permeable cover disposed around the frangible region to control the speed and direction of the dispersion of the fluid in the absorbent member. Adaptive embodiments allow the generation of designs applicable to a particular medical purpose.
Liquid applicator
Liquid applicators wherein the applicators include a lever having a hinge, grip and foot integrally formed with a hollow body suitable for receiving a liquid-filled ampoule. The foot is positioned adjacent the ampoule and crushes the ampoule when the lever is depressed.
Wound therapy system with wound volume estimation
A pump generates a vacuum at a wound site via first tubing. A negative pressure circuit is defined by a canister, the first tubing and the wound site. A controller of a therapy device operates the pump to apply a first negative pressure to the entirety of the negative pressure circuit, following which ambient air is allowed to flow into the negative pressure circuit. The controller also operates the pump to apply a second negative pressure to a selected portion of the negative pressure circuit exclusive of the wound site, following which ambient air is allowed to flow into the selected portion. A quantity of fluid to be delivered to the wound site via a second tubing is determined by comparing measured parameters related to the flow of air into the negative pressure circuit to parameters measured with respect to the flow of air into the selected portion.
Cleansing swab for needle pen assembly
A needle cap assembly for use in combination with a needle pen comprising: (i) a needle cap having a needle cannula for injecting a fluid medication into an injection site, (ii) an internal cap configured to be disposed over an injection end of the needle cap, (iii) an external cap having a cavity configured to envelop the internal and needle caps, (iv) a sealing tab configured to seal a cavity of the external cap for enclosing or housing the needle cap assembly, and (v) a cleansing swab disposed in internally of the needle cap assembly. The cleansing swab is disposed internally of the needle cap and includes an absorptive material loaded with a cleansing fluid to clean an injection site prior to injection of fluid medication.
DOUBLE DISK TRANSDERMAL SYSTEM
A double disk dermal device for administration of one or more active agents to the skin or mucosa of a host, in particular a patch is described including: a) active reservoir film layer; b) a backing overlay adjacent to the active reservoir film layer extending beyond the perimeter of the reservoir layer in all directions; c) second overlay backing layer with a coating of pressure sensitive adhesive which is adjacent to the first backing overlay extending beyond the perimeter of the first backing overlay in all directions; and d) a removable release liner. A method of making the device is also provided.
Medical liquid dispensing applicators and methods of manufacture
A liquid dispensing applicator that can include a sound-generating system for generating a sound during rotation of the container body to indicate to a user that the rotation is performed. The sound-generating system includes at least one knob and a plurality of ribs. The at least one knob cooperates with at least some of the ribs during rotation of the container body, in order to generate the sound. The liquid dispensing applicator can alternatively or also include a wing element insertable into a slot provided in an absorbent material. The wing element extends from an outer surface of the head component and comprises opposing surfaces and a at least one edge spike provided on an edge of the at least one wing element, and configured to prevent the absorbent material from being removed after insertion of the wing element into the slot.
Liquid applicator
Liquid applicators for applying a liquid to a surface. The applicators include a lever having a hinge, grip and foot integrally formed with a hollow body suitable for receiving a liquid-filled ampoule. The foot is positioned adjacent the ampoule and crushes the ampoule when the lever is depressed.
Syringe and swab system
The current invention is a syringe and swab system for a syringe having a plunger, a barrel, a needle hub, a needle, a needle safety cover, and a swab attached to the distal end of the needle safety cover for placing over an injection site to apply pressure and a vial for holding fluid that may be utilized with the swab.
