Apparatus and method for deploying a surgical preparation
A device used for applying an antiseptic preparation, such as an antibiotic solution or water, or all other substance deemed necessary in treating a wound prior to arrival at a hospital or other treatment facility or for continuing wound therapy and maintenance while hospitalized, in an out-patient facility or at home. A loose-fitting bag is provided which encloses the wound by securing the open end(s) to the patient by closing means. The bag further includes ports or resealable flaps that allow access to the wound for treatment and cleaning while containing all fluids resulting therefrom. A high friction scrub surface is provided in the bag. A method and apparatus are also provided for wound maintenance with a lavage system.
Digital microfluidic delivery device
An active molecule delivery system whereby active molecules can be released on demand and/or a variety of different active molecules can be delivered from the same system and/or different concentrations of active molecules can be delivered from the same system. The invention is well-suited for delivering pharmaceuticals to patients transdermally. In some embodiments, the system includes two separate reservoirs and a mixing area thereby allowing precursors to be mixed immediately before transdermal delivery.
HEEL CARE DEVICE
A heel care device, having a cup section shaped to fit over and cover a portion of a subjects foot and a strap section configured to retain the cup section in place on the subjects foot. The strap section is made of a flexible, elastic material and the cup section is more rigid than the strap section.
CLINICAL GARMENT FOR INFANTS
An interactive one-piece pantsuit is provided for wear by an infant/toddler, when a medical device has been surgically implanted into the infant/toddler. For this purpose, the pantsuit acts as a protective garment which normally covers and protects extracorporeal components of the medical device. The garment, however, includes flaps which are positioned at key locations on the garment over the extracorporeal components of the medical device. These flaps can then be selectively raised to temporarily provide a caregiver with the necessary access to the medical device for operational or maintenance purposes.
Vacuum patch
A medical device (10) configured for attachment to skin of a patient includes a vital sign sensor or drug delivery patch (14); and a plurality of suction cells (12) arranged around a periphery of the vital sign sensor or drug delivery patch.
WOUND TREATMENT DEVICE
An improved method and device are provided for treating wounds. The device generally comprises a wound chamber and/or deployment system. The provided assembly substantially improves wound treatment.
Therapeutic Eyewear Sleeve
Therapeutic Eyewear patent introduces new functionality for the eyewear frame (prescription frames, sunglasses, goggles) —the delivery of CBD or other therapeutic medicine via infused pads located anywhere on the frame, primarily those parts of the frame in contact with the wearer's skin.
Drug delivery methods and systems
A two-part bioactive agent delivery system includes a disposable part, a reusable part, and a solvent removal element. The disposable part includes an agent reservoir, a transdermal patch communicating with the agent reservoir and adapted to transdermally deliver the bioactive agent to a user. The transdermal patch has a bottom surface adapted to contact skin of the user, a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a gas permeable membrane disposed over the top surface of the transdermal patch. The reusable part includes a power source and control electronics that are adapted to deliver bioactive agent dissolved in a solvent from the agent reservoir to the transdermal patch. The solvent removal element includes a gap disposed between the disposable part and the reusable part to create a flow path for gaseous solvent to flow from the gas permeable membrane to ambient air around the bioactive agent delivery system.
Device and method for monitoring and treating advanced bradycardia
A device and method for monitoring the heart rate of a patient for a bradyarrhythmia event and thereafter administering medications is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of monitoring heart rate via at least one sensor secured to the neck or head of a patient; and if a bradyarrhythmia event is determined; applying an anticholinergic medication to the conjunctiva of at least one eye and releasing ammonia vapor in close proximity to the nostrils of a patient.
