Disinfecting Cap With Pressure Seal Capability
A cap is described for connection to a needleless connector having an open lumen, the cap includes a housing having a top wall and sidewall forming a first cavity, an insert, an absorbent reservoir material and a sealing foam. The insert includes an inner thread on an inner surface, the inner thread being sufficient to interlock with a mating feature of a female needleless connector. The inner surface of the insert defines a second cavity. The protrusion/insert includes an outer thread on an outer surface, the outer thread being sufficient to interlock with a mating feature of a male needleless connector. The second cavity configured to define a chamber to contain an absorbent reservoir material, a sealing foam and disinfectant or antimicrobial agent.
Intravascular line and port cleaning methods, methods of administering an agent intravascularly, methods of obtaining/testing blood, and devices for performing such methods
A syringe assembly is provided comprising a syringe cylinder extending from an opening configured to receive a plunger to an end configured to couple with a needle and/or medical tubing, a cap configured to couple to the end, and barrier material at least partially encompassing the cap and the end. A syringe assembly is provided comprising a syringe cylinder extending from an opening configured to receive a plunger to an end configured to couple with a needle and/or medical tubing, a plunger extending from one end to a seal end, and at least one cap configured to couple to the one end. A syringe assembly is provided comprising a syringe cylinder extending from an opening configured to receive a plunger to an end configured to couple with a needle and/or medical tubing, and a plunger extending from one end to a seal end, the one end of the plunger defining a recess configured to receive at least one cap.
PRIMING DEVICE
Described is a priming device to prime a gas from a fluid delivery system by receiving the gas and a fluid used to push the gas into a chamber, the priming device including a housing having a chamber, an inlet port, and an opening to release gas received into the chamber. The device further includes a valve extending from the inlet port toward the chamber and a cover body comprising one or more flexible protrusions extending axially inward from an inner surface of the cover body. The cover body has an open first end, an open second end, and an axis between the first end and the second end, the first end configured to couple with a male luer connector, the second end configured to couple with the inlet port of the housing, wherein the cover body is moveable relative to the housing.
MEDICAL DEVICES FOR BLOOD REFLUX PREVENTION AND METHODS OF USE
Described is a catheter patency maintenance device comprising of a flush syringe, an elongate plunger rod with a stopper slidably positioned within the barrel, a cap, disinfectant and a valve movable between an open position and a closed position. The valve may include a valve stem and/or openings in the valve to permit fluid flow. Methods of using the flush syringe assemblies are also described.
SANITIZING CAPS FOR MEDICAL CONNECTORS
Antiseptic caps that can be used to disinfect and/or protect medical connectors are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the antiseptic cap can include a first chamber configured to be removably attached to the medical connector. Delivery systems for use with medical articles are also disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the delivery system comprises various dispensing systems for antiseptic caps and/or antiseptic cap holder assemblies. In some embodiments, the delivery system can be configured to permit the medical articles to be individually removable from the delivery system.
MULTI-USE DISINFECTING CAP
A multi-use disinfecting cap and method for disinfection and protection of a needleless IV injection port. The disinfecting cap has an upper chamber which contains a sterilizing solution and a low chamber which connects to a needleless IV injection port. The fluid can be manipulated to flow between the two chambers. When in use the cap protects and disinfects a needleless IV injection port when exposed prior to injecting medication into the needleless port and continues to disinfect and protect prior for any subsequent exposures. The cap is re-usable and provides a clear indication of the disinfecting solution and a datable top surface. The multi-use disinfecting cap may be removably clipped to the IV tubing and is shaped to prevent accidental rolling away if dropped.
Automatic disinfection of a vascular access device connector
A device to couple a vascular access device to a medical device may include a body, a spring, and a housing. The body may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending through the distal end and the proximal end. The proximal end of the body may include a connector. The housing may be coupled to a proximal end of the spring and may enclose the connector. A distal end of the spring may be coupled to the body. The housing may include a flap, which may include an antimicrobial compound. When the housing is disposed in a proximal position, the flap may cover the connector, the antimicrobial compound may contact the connector, and the spring may be uncompressed. In response to movement of the housing from the proximal position to a distal position, the spring may be compressed and the flap may open.
DISINFECTING CAP
A device for cleaning medical implements is disclosed, in particular a device for cleaning vascular or other fluid access sites. The device includes a cap having an opening to receive an access site. The cap may be used in the following manner: A healthcare worker may, with gloved hands, open the cap packaging and place the cap over the port of a medical implement to be cleaned. The healthcare worker may wipe the site by either applying a turning motion or by simply pushing the cap onto the port. A cap in place on a medical implement may be a positive indication that a desired site of the medical implement is clean. The cap may include a disinfecting substance. Embodiments of the cap may comprise a cap body and a skirt.
