Infusion pump cassette having integrated pinch clip occluder
11426515 · 2022-08-30 · ·

A cassette usable with an infusion pump includes a monolithic cassette body and a segment of resiliently deformable tubing for conveying a flow of liquid. The monolithic cassette body has an integrally formed free-flow protection device including a fixed pinch element and a deflectable pinch arm having a movable pinch element. The pinch arm normally resides in a closed position wherein the pinch elements cooperate to deform the tubing segment to stop flow. The pinch arm is resiliently deflectable away from the closed position to an open position permitting flow. Deflection of the pinch arm away from the closed position spring biases the pinch arm for automatic return to the closed position. The pinch arm may be moved to the open position by operating a door of the pump when the cassette is loaded in the pump, and manually for priming when the cassette is not loaded in the pump.

Micro infusion device for drug delivery

A device introduced small volumes of fluid for delivery to a patient through a fluid line. The device includes a first arm adapted to receive a syringe and a second arm fluidly connected to an upstream reservoir that defines an internal volume adapted to receive a volume of fluid. The device includes a fluid obstruction mechanism configured to selectably block flow of fluid from the reservoir toward the patient, wherein the fluid obstruction mechanism transitions between a first state that permits fluid flow from the reservoir toward the patient and a second state that directs fluid flow from the syringe into the reservoir while blocking fluid flow from the reservoir toward the patient.

Linearly actuated flow controller for intravenous (IV) fluid administration

Flow controllers for intravenous (IV) tubing are provided. A flow controller may include first and second structural members defining a cavity therebetween for a portion of the tubing, wherein the first structural member is linearly slidable along a length of the tubing to compress at least part of the portion of the tubing to control flow of a medical fluid through the tubing. A flow controller may include a first ramped wedge structure, a second ramped wedge structure configured to slide over the first ramped wedge structure to compress a portion of the IV tubing disposed between the first ramped wedge structure and the second ramped wedge structure, a yoke having a linear slot, a wheel having a pin that is radially separated form a center of the wheel and is slidably disposed in the linear slot, and a transfer structure coupled to the yoke and the first ramped wedge structure. IV sets that include a flow controller are also provided.

Keep vein open (KVO) infusion flow control devices are provided. The KVO infusion flow control device couples to intravenous (IV) tubing and includes a flow controller that provides a full open fluid flow rate through an outlet portion of the IV tubing when the flow controller is in an open position, and a KVO fluid flow rate through the outlet portion of the IV tubing when the flow controller is in a KVO position. Visual indicators are disposed on the KVO infusion flow control device.

PRECISION ROLLER CLAMP ASSEMBLY

A precision roller clamp assembly for adjusting the fluid flow rate in a tube of an infusion set is provided. The roller clamp assembly includes a housing to receive the tube and a roller wheel moveably engaged with the housing. The housing includes a tube groove disposed in a guide wall, the tube groove dimensions configured to provide a precise fluid flow adjustment over a majority of the travel path of the roller wheel. A method of operating a precision roller clamp assembly is also provided.

Self-Sealing Fluid Connectors

The present teachings may generally include a first fluid connector that includes a first body having a first central cavity that defines a first fluid pathway and a first seal within the first central cavity. The first seal includes a pair of first interfacing elements positioned adjacent one another at a distal end of the first seal and a first opening configured to remain sealed closed when the first interfacing elements are adjacent, and the first opening opens when the first interfacing elements are separated. The first connector is configured to fluidly connect to a second connector by engaging the first interfacing elements and with a pair of second interfacing elements of the second connector, thereby causing both pairs of first and second interfacing elements to separate causing the opening of first opening and second opening.

ENTERAL FEEDING PUMP SYSTEMS, VALVE ASSEMBLIES THEREFOR AND FLUID FLOW CONTROL METHODS FOR SAME

Enteral feeding pump systems valves assemblies therefor and related fluid flow control methods. The system includes a disposable fluid delivery set with an integral peristaltic tube section and an enteral feeding pump. The system may also include a pinching mechanism for regulating the flow of nutrient formula or water out of the fluid delivery set. Also disclosed is a flow selector valve assembly for an enteral feeding pump system, the valve assembly including a tube adapter having two input flexible tubing channels and one output tubing channel and being configured to position the flexible tubing channels in relation with a receiver. The receiver has an eccentric bearing that is moveable between a first position in which neither of the input flexible tubing channels is compressed, and a second position in which the eccentric bearing compresses one of the input flexible tubing channels therein to prevent flow therethrough.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICINE INCLUDING MONITORING AND USER FEEDBACK

An apparatus for use with tubing sets operatively connected to a medication deliver device, where the apparatus constricts fluid flow within the tubing are described for deliver a therapeutic medication to a patient, the apparatus operatively engages an outside surface of the tubing set causing compression of the tubing and reducing an inner diameter of the tubing.

A clamping mechanism (30) for clamping a flexible tube comprises two rotatable bobbins (22, 32), each with a tube-engaging surface portion (24) defining boundaries of: a free space through which a tube may extend. The shape of: the tube-engaging surface portion (24) changes around the bobbin circumference, such that axial rotation of the bobbins (22, 32) reduces the free space and thereby squeezes the tube. This allows the flow through the tube to be altered dependent on the rotation of: the bobbins.
