Medication Delivery System and Method
20230050791 · 2023-02-16 ·

According to one example of the present disclosure an infusion device is configured to control a medication delivery apparatus to intravenously deliver a pharmaceutical preparation to a patient. The infusion device comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to cause the medication delivery apparatus to deliver the pharmaceutical preparation to the patient according to a predetermined dose profile. The predetermined dose profile is designed to deliver a therapeutic dose of the pharmaceutical preparation to the patient over a predetermined infusion time in a manner which facilitates safe detection of an adverse reaction of the patient to the pharmaceutical preparation, or desensitization the patient to the pharmaceutical preparation, during a first stage of administering the therapeutic dose.

INFUSION PUMPS AND METHODS WITH SHAPE MEMORY WIRE DRIVEN SYRINGE MECHANISM
20230047034 · 2023-02-16 ·

Disclosed herein are apparatuses and methods for a user-wearable infusion pump actuated with a shape memory alloy (SMA) wire. Embodiments enable an SMA wire driven infusion pump using a single length of SMA wire to provide multiple pulse sizes and corresponding medicament dispensing sizes. The multiple pulse sizes can include a larger pulse size for larger volumes to limit battery drain but smaller pulse sizes for precision of delivery.

A method for performing a medical procedure requiring effective, reliable and foolproof delivery of controlled amounts of a medical grade gas to a patient includes providing a compressed gas cylinder having a weight with medical grade gas sealed therein of at least twelve grams and not greater than fifty grams. The method also includes connecting the compressed gas cylinder to an integrated compressed gas unit including a regulator valve assembly positioned between an outlet port and an inlet port, wherein the regulator valve assembly includes a press button actuator and regulator adjustment dial. A flow control system is secured to the compressed gas unit and the medical grade gas is delivered in precisely controlled amounts by actuating the compressed gas unit and operating the flow control system to deliver the medical grade gas to vasculature of the patient.

Cannulas for systems and methods for delivering microdoses of medication

Devices, systems, and methods are provided herein for delivering medication (e.g., insulin) via a wearable pump having a patch-style form factor for adhesion to a user's body. The reusable pump may be coupled to a disposable cap housing a microdosing system for delivering precise, repeatable doses of medication to a cannula configured to deliver medication to a target infusion area beneath the user's outer skin layer. The system further may include an applicator for inserting the cannula into the user's skin and/or applying an adhesive pad to the skin.

LIQUID DRUG PUMPS WITH A FLEXIBLE DRUG RESERVOIR

Various exemplary liquid drug pumps with a flexible drug reservoir are provided. In general, a pump includes a flexible reservoir configured to contain a liquid drug therein for delivery to a patient wearing the pump. The reservoir is configured to be filled with the drug from a drug storage container, which can either be external to the pump or disposed within the pump.

INFUSION SET
