20230047780 · 2023-02-16 ·

A drug delivery device (100, 200) for delivering a fixed dose, comprising a drive mecha-nism comprising a drive spring (108, 208), and an activation mechanism comprising a connector (170, 270) adapted for activating the drive mechanism, wherein the drug de-livery device further comprises a split-dose-prevention mechanism adapted for limiting the axial movement of the connector during dosing. The split dose prevention mechanism comprises: (i) a split-dose-prevention structure (184, 284.1, 284.2) provided on the drive tube (180, 280) and extending in a circumferential direction, and (ii) a retention portion (178.3, 278.2) provided on the connector. For the drive tube being arranged in the intermediate position, the split-dose-prevention structure (184, 284.1, 284.2) and the retention portion are arranged with a transverse overlap, whereby movement of the connector in the second axial direction is limited by the split-dose prevention structure. For the drive tube being arranged in the stop position, the split-dose-prevention structure (184, 284.1, 284.2) and the retention portion are arranged with a transverse clearance and/or an axial gap, whereby the return spring (107, 207) can move the connector in the second axial direction, in response to releasing the applied force in the first direction on the connector.

Drive mechanism for a medication delivery device and medication delivery device

A drive mechanism for a medication delivery device containing a resilient member and having a rotation member configured to be rotated in a first direction during setting of a dose of a medication and to be rotated in a second direction during delivery of the dose, where the rotation member is coupled to a drive member that is coupled to a piston rod such that on dose delivery the piston rod is displaced in a distal direction to dispense a medicament and where the resilient member prevents movement of the drive member and the piston rod during dose setting.

Syringe with a bidirectional plunger advancing mechanism for a micro-dosing syringe pump

Disclosed is a syringe for a micro-dosing syringe pump. The syringe includes a reservoir having an outlet port; a plunger having a track, with the plunger received inside a portion of the reservoir; a plunger driver comprising a gear connected to one end of a shaft and a pin located adjacent an opposite end of the shaft, with the plunger driver received inside the plunger and with the pin located inside and engaging the track. In use, rotation of the gear in a first direction advances the plunger into the reservoir a first distance as the pin travels in the track and rotation of the gear in a second direction opposite the first direction advances the plunger a further distance into the reservoir as the pin travels in the track. The design prevents excess dosing in a runaway motor failure.

Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices

A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.

Dosage limiting device

An adjustable dosage limiting device includes a member that interfaces to a plunger flange of a syringe and a barrel loop that slides along a barrel of the syringe. A locking mechanism, when engaged, fixes a distance between the member that interfaces to a plunger flange and the barrel loop, and hence, locks the barrel loop in place with respect to the plunger flange. Once locked in place, the adjustable dosage limiting device limits a dosage provided by the syringe based upon a distance between the member that interfaces to a plunger flange and the barrel loop as set by the locking mechanism.

Injection Device Having Variable Dosing

An injection device for injecting medicament in a patient comprises a housing configured to house a fluid reservoir that has one of a plurality of volumes of medicament. An injection conduit fluidly coupled to the fluid reservoir defines a fluid pathway from the fluid reservoir to the patient. A firing mechanism is coupled to the fluid reservoir and is configured to expel the medicament from the fluid reservoir through the injection conduit. A volume setting mechanism is coupled to the firing mechanism and is configured to select the one of the plurality of volumes of medicament for the firing mechanism to expel. A dose setting mechanism is configured to select all or a fraction of the one of the plurality of volumes of medicament that is injected from the injection conduit when the firing mechanism is actuated.
