Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
Logging device for drug delivery device
An add-on logging device (100, 300) mounted to a drug delivery device is turned on when the cap is removed. After a given amount of time in inactivity the sensor means of the add-on device is turned off automatically to save energy. If the user takes a dose of drug this is not detected as the add-on device is only turned on when the cap is removed. According to the present invention a warning message is provided when the cap is re-mounted after the sensor means has been turned off automatically, the warning message indicating to a user that an expelled dose may not have been detected.
Drug injection device
A cartridge adapter includes: a cartridge holder having a space that can accommodate therein a drug cartridge, the drug cartridge including a cylinder having a tubular internal space extending in a longitudinal direction, a gasket supported in the internal space so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction, and a drug held in the internal space; a piston that moves the gasket in the longitudinal direction in the internal space of the cylinder; a piston guide that movably supports the piston and connected to the cartridge holder; and a piston driving mechanism that drives the piston in the longitudinal direction.
Intelligent medication delivery systems and methods for dose recommendation and management
Systems, devices, and techniques are disclosed for administering and tracking medicine to patients and providing health management capabilities for patients and caregivers. In some aspects, a method includes receiving one or more analyte values associated with a health condition of the patient user; receiving contextual data associated with the patient user obtained by the mobile computing device, where the obtained contextual data includes information associated with a meal; determining a medicine metric value associated with an amount of medicine active in the body of the patient user; autonomously calculating a dose of the medicine without input from the user based at least on the one or more analyte values, the medicine metric value, and the information associated with a meal; and continuously displaying the calculated dose of the medicine.
Determining a status of an injection
An electronic device (104) comprising: a housing (203) for attachment to an injection device (102); a first sensor assembly (304) comprising a first coil (406a) and two magnets (402a, 404a) of opposite polarity, wherein the first coil (406a) is configured to provide a first voltage pulse as a first Wiegand wire (224) of the injection device (102) moves from a first position proximate to one of the magnets (402a) of the first sensor assembly (304) to a second position proximate to the other magnet (404a) of the first sensor assembly (304); and one or more processors (308) configured to enter an enabled state from a sleep state after receiving the first voltage pulse from the first coil (406a).
Adjustable clock frequency in an injector head assembly for an MRI system
An MRI system (100) is proposed (for generating one or more images of a body-part of a patient under analysis); the MRI system (100) comprises an injector head assembly (155), for injecting at least one medical fluid into the patient, having a clock unit (340) for providing a clock signal with a clock frequency. The MRI system (100) comprises means (420-425; 445-460) for adjusting the clock frequency in response to a manual command and/or to a detection of a degradation of the images. An injector system (155,165) for use in this MRI system (100) is also proposed. Moreover, a corresponding method (500) for managing the injector head assembly (155) is proposed. A computer program (400) for implementing the method (500) and a corresponding computer program product are also proposed.
DEVICE FOR HOMOGENEOUS INJECTION OF MEDICINE
Provided herein is a system for homogeneous injection of medicine including a device for homogeneous injection of medicine, which may include a cylinder holding part having a cylinder of a syringe held therein, a plunger resting part being configured to be independent from the cylinder holding part and having an end of the plunger of the syringe rest therein, first and second pressurized lead screw supporting parts each being provided on one side of the cylinder holding part and one side of the plunger resting part, respectively, and being connected to a pressurized lead screw being provided with a screw thread, and a motor being connected to one side of the first pressurized lead screw supporting part so as to rotate the pressurized lead screw; and a monitoring unit monitoring injection dosage and having one side connected to a needle of the syringe or a medicine outlet of the syringe cylinder and having its opposite side connected to a tube providing medicine to a patient, thereby monitoring physical quantities related to the injection of the medicine.
Drug delivery device and method of operation
A computerized electro-mechanical drug delivery device configured to deliver at least one dose of two or more medicaments. The device comprises a control unit. An electro-mechanical drive unit is operably coupled to the control unit and a primary reservoir for a first medicament and a secondary reservoir for a fluid agent, e.g. a second medicament. An operator interface is in communication with the control unit. A single dispense assembly is configured for fluid communication with the primary and the secondary reservoir. Activation of the operator panel sets a first dose from the primary reservoir and based on the first dose and a therapeutic dose profile, the control unit is configured to determine a dose or range of the fluid agent. Alternatively, the control unit determines or calculates a dose or range of a third medicament. Further, a dispense interface for use with a drug delivery device is disclosed.
