Torsion spring injection device having an end-of-dose mechanism
09827373 · 2017-11-28 · ·

The present invention relates to a torsion spring based automatic injection device for apportioning set doses of a liquid drug and which injection device is provided with an End-of-Dose feedback mechanism providing a user with an audible signal once the set dose has been injected. During injection, the scale drum rotates back to its “zero” position under influence of the torsion spring. This rotation is halted shortly before reaching the “zero” position by stopping means. The scale drum is thereafter only allowed to continue rotation and thus reach the “zero” position once the torque applied to the scale drum by the torsion spring surpasses a threshold value.

Drug Delivery Device

A drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament includes a housing having an opening, a dose selector operable to set a dose by rotation relative to the housing, a release member controlling movement of a piston in a dispensing direction, and a display comprising a units number wheel and a tens number wheel which are coupled to each other such that a continuous rotation of the units number wheel is translated into an intermittent rotary motion of the tens number wheel. The release member rotates, during dose dispensing, an angle corresponding to the dose set by the dose selector, thereby allowing a piston to move in a dispensing direction.

INJECTION PEN

An injection pen, comprising a housing, a lead screw axially moveable in the housing, a dose set member for dose setting and dose correcting, threadably connected to the housing and having a first mating feature, a setback member having a second mating feature for engaging the first mating feature, a clicker that generates an audible or tactile indication during operation, the clicker being operatively connected to the dose set member, and a push button operatively connected to the setback member to cause the second mating feature to engage the first mating feature during an injection, the push button receiving the clicker, wherein the first mating feature is disengaged from the second mating feature during dose setting and dose correcting and engaged with the second mating feature during an injection.

Dispensing speed control mechanism and injection device

The present invention relates to a dispensing speed control mechanism for use in an injection device. The injection device may have a housing (10, 30, 40; 40′; 40″; 40′″) and a drive member (70), which is driven by a power reservoir (100, 100′) and axially movable between a dose setting position, in which the drive member (70) is rotationally constrained to the housing (10, 30, 40; 40′; 40″; 40′″), and a dose dispensing position, in which the drive member (70) is rotationally de-coupled from the housing (10, 30, 40; 40′; 40″; 40′″). The speed control mechanism comprises friction means (42) for retarding the drive member (70) during dose dispensing depending on the axial position of the drive member (70). Further, the invention relates to an injection device with such a dispensing speed control mechanism.

DOSING ASSEMBLY FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH DIFFERENT LEADS AND MULTI-START THREAD SECTION
20170304550 · 2017-10-26 ·

The present invention is generally directed to an assembly for a drug delivery device comprising a first threaded member (50, 50′), a second threaded member (40, 60′) with a longitudinal axis and a thread (61), having at least two consecutive portions (62, 63, 64) with different leads. The first threaded member (50, 50′) and the second threaded member (40, 60′) are adapted and arranged to rotate with respect to one another about the longitudinal axis of the second threaded member (40, 60′) during dose setting operation of the assembly, the first threaded member (50, 50′) thereby being axially displaced along the second threaded member (40, 60′) from a start position to an end position with respect to the second threaded member (40, 60′) due to the mechanical cooperation of the first threaded member (50, 50′) with the thread (61). According to the invention, a fast portion (62, 64) of the thread (61), having a greater lead than a slow portion (63) of the thread (61), comprises a multi-start thread and the slow portion (63) comprises less starts than the fast portion (62, 64). The invention is further directed to a drug delivery device for setting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament comprising such an assembly.

Medicament delivery device

A dose setting mechanism for a medicament delivery device is presented having a locking feature that reliably and consistently unlocks a dose injection button and concurrently a lead screw when the dose setting mechanism is transitioned from a non-activated state to an activated state. This locking feature uses dose member assembly having a rotational biasing element combined with concentric inner and outer sleeves interfacing with a locking member.

Method for Assembling a Drive Spring and Drug Delivery Device with a Spring

A method for assembling a drive spring, especially into a drug delivery device includes rotating a component part to which the drive spring is attached in a first direction, followed by a rotation of the component part in the opposite direction and followed by attachment of a rotational stop. Further, the disclosure includes a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament, which device comprises a pre-charged drive spring.

A dose setting mechanism for a medicament delivery device is presented having a locking assembly that reliably and consistently unlocks a dose injection button and concurrently a lead screw when the dose setting mechanism is transitioned from a non-activated state to an activated state. This locking assembly uses a rotating plate having a locking protrusion that engages a radial projecting tab on a rotationally fixed plunger rod nut. An alignment member is also presented that prevents rotational drift of a dosing member.

Injection device with dose setting mechanism having maximum dose stop

A dose setting mechanism for a drug delivery device is provided comprising a dose setting member and a further element. Maximum dose stop features are provided on a housing and on the further element.
