A system for injecting includes a syringe body defining a proximal opening and a distal needle interface. The system also includes a plunger member defining a plunger interior and configured to be manually manipulated to insert a stopper member relative to the syringe body. The plunger member includes a needle retention feature disposed in the plunger interior, an energy-storage member disposed in the plunger interior, and an energy-storage member latching member disposed in the plunger interior. The system further includes a needle hub assembly coupled to the distal needle interface of the syringe body. The needle assembly includes a needle having a needle proximal end feature, a hub, and a needle latching member configured to couple the needle to the hub. The needle is retractable into plunger interior upon manipulation of the plunger member to actuate the energy-storage member latching member.
A Standalone Safety Device For a Needle of a Medical Device
A standalone safety device for a needle of a medical device A safety device for a needle of a medical device, the safety device including: a ring fixed with regard to the needle, a shield mounted on the ring by a pivot link, a protective cap covering at least partially the needle in an initial configuration, a translation locking unit adapted to prevent a translation movement of the protective cap, and a rotation locking unit adapted to prevent a rotation movement of the shield with regard to the ring. The translation locking unit is configured to be disengaged by the application of a predetermined translation force on the protective cap. The rotation locking unit is configured to be disengaged during a portion of the translation movement of the protective cap with regard to the shield.
INJECTOR WITH ADJUSTABLE DOSING
An injector for injecting a medicament in a patient. The injector includes a container comprising a fluid chamber containing a first volume of a medicament, and an injection conduit associated with the fluid chamber for defining a fluid pathway therefrom to inject the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit to an injection location. The injector also includes a firing mechanism associated with the fluid chamber for expelling the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit, arid a volume-control mechanism operable to control a fraction of the first volume of medicament that is injected when the firing mechanism is actuated to inject the medicament.
Medicament Injection Device
The present disclosure relates to medicament injection devices. An injection device includes: a movable dosage programming component comprising a rotary encoder system having a predefined angular periodicity, a sensor arrangement including a first optical sensor configured to detect movement of the movable dosage programming component relative to the sensor arrangement during dosing of a medicament, wherein the first optical sensor is configured to operate in a strobe-sampling mode at a first frequency, a second optical sensor configured to detect movement of the rotary encoder system relative to the second optical sensor wherein the second optical sensor is configured to operate in a strobe-sampling mode at a second frequency lower than the first frequency, and a processor arrangement configured to, based on the detected movement, determine a medicament dosage administered by the injection device.
FIXED DOSE INJECTION DEVICE
A drug delivery device for sequentially delivering a predefined plurality of fixed doses, wherein the drug delivery device comprises a housing assembly, a drive mechanism comprising a drive tube and adapted to sequentially deliver the predefined plurality of doses, and an activation mechanism for activating the drive mechanism. The drive mechanism further comprises a pre-strained torsional drive spring (108, 208) conserving an initial amount of energy, and adapted for rotating the drive tube, wherein each activation of the drive mechanism, and completion of a drive tube dose sequence reduces the amount of conserved energy in the drive spring, and wherein the initial amount of conserved energy, which is the conserved energy before the first activation, is sufficient to deliver the predefined plurality of fixed doses.
LOCKOUT MECHANISM FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a container at least partially disposed within the housing and configured to contain a medicament, an injection mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing and configured to exert a force to urge the medicament from the container, a drug delivery component at least partially disposed within the housing, and at least one pin positioned adjacent to the housing and preventing activation of the activation mechanism until the at least one pin reaches a desired temperature.
BLINDING CAP
A blinding cap (1001) for covering a rigid needle shield mounted on a syringe, that comprises first (1010) and second parts (1020) joined by a hinge (1030). The first and second parts are engagable around the rigid needle shield by flexure of the hinge such that a raised lip (1050) of the first part is engaged in a recess (1080) of the second part and a first locking member (1070) and a second locking member (1090) engage one another to lock the first and second parts together. The first and second parts together define a cavity for receiving the rigid needle shield and have a first flange portion (1040a) and a second flange portion (1040b) that are juxtaposed to form an inwardly-projecting flange that is disposed between an end surface of the rigid needle shield and a barrel of the syringe. The first and second parts also have one or more fins (1060, 1061) that are configured to engage the rigid needle shield.
