Drug delivery system with a delay mechanism
A medicament delivery system, including a medicament container and a delay mechanism that is activated prior to completion of medicament delivery from the medicament container. The delay mechanism automatically activates a subsystem or initiates an operation subsequent to completion of medicament delivery.
Needle protector
A needle protector, having a flexible material, a pocket defining an internal volume, a wrapping strap having a plurality of holes, and a main body disposed between the pocket and the wrapping strap; at least one rigid body or cylinder for placement within the internal volume; and; a pin for placement within one of the plurality of holes, wherein the pin is capable of releasably locking the pocket and the main body when the wrapping strap is wrapped around the pocket and the main body.
Safety device with collapsible housing and trigger activation
Drug delivery safety devices having trigger activation systems activated by pressure against the skin of a patient and which automatically shield the needle after withdrawing the needle from the skin of the patient.
Medical safety needle preventive of needlepoint re-exposure
A medical safety needle includes a needle body having a needlepoint, a covering body having a detent portion slidable on the needle body to catch the needlepoint so as to cover the needlepoint, and a resilient cantilever supporting the detent portion, a collar portion slidably fitting on the covering body, which is configured to get in contact with the cantilever to press the cantilever radially inwardly, and a housing being formed in a unitary body with the collar portion or having an end face on which the collar portion is capable of being seated, the housing being configured to carry the covering body from a first position to have the needlepoint exposed to a second position to have the needlepoint covered by the covering body.
Automatic needle apparatus
An automatic needle device comprises a body into which a needle assembly and needle are mounted. The device also includes a needle guard to cover the needle until it is used and to lock over the needle after use so the needle is not re-exposed. The locking is accomplished with a coil spring action locking device. A container for holding the automatic needle device also facilitates the viewing of the distal end of the needle prior to use on a patient.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING A USER FROM A SHARP TIP OF A MEDICAL NEEDLE
Devices and methods for protecting a user from a sharp tip of a medical needle include a pair of wings in attachment to the central body portion to protect a user from the sharp tip of the medical needle. The method includes withdrawing a sharp tip of a medical needle from a patient and closing a pair of wings with the medical needle positioned between the wings so as to protect a user from the sharp tip of the medical needle.
AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE WITH REUSABLE PORTION
An autoinjector may include a disposable portion and a reusable portion. The disposable portion may include a syringe and a syringe coupling. The syringe coupling may be coupled to the syringe, and may comprise a guide track. The reusable portion may include a device housing, a device actuator configured to initiate an injection of the autoinjector, and a motor coupled to the device actuator. The reusable portion may additionally include a motor foot coupled to an output of the motor, wherein the motor foot may be configured to translate in an axial direction. The reusable portion may also include a drive coupling disposed within the device housing. The drive coupling may include an angled surface configured to receive the motor foot and a protrusion configured to engage with the guide track of the syringe coupling to lock the drive coupling to the syringe coupling.
Sharps end capture device and method
A sharps end capture device is disclosed for use in a system and method for the safe disposal and/or temporary storage of sharp-tipped implements including medical sharps, such as, syringe needles (epidural, spinal, blood collection, catheter, dialysis, intravenous, ophthalmic, hormonal pen, and radiologic). The device is useful to prevent injuries related to the use and disposal of sharp medical instruments, commonly known as, “sharps” or “sharps objects” is disclosed.
Syringe carrier
Described is a syringe carrier comprising a body adapted to receive a barrel of a syringe. The body includes two sections having distal ends with shoulder sections. The shoulder sections are adapted to engage a circumferential gap between the barrel of the syringe and a needle shield covering a needle of the syringe.
INJECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AQUATIC SPECIES
An injection apparatus can include a hand-held unit having a head portion and a body portion. The head portion can include a base member, a needle fluidly coupled to the base member, a movable portion disposed over the needle and being axially movable relative to the base member between an extended position and a retracted position in which a distal point of the needle is exposed, a safety cover removably coupled to the base member, the safety cover comprising one or more extension members, and an adjustment member removably coupled to the movable portion and configured to adjust a penetration depth of the needle by increasing or decreasing a distance between the movable portion and the base member.
