Flash activated passive shielding needle assembly
A safety needle device includes a housing including a passageway with a needle cannula extending therefrom. A shielding member is movable between a first position in which a puncture tip of the needle cannula is exposed therefrom and a second position in which the puncture tip of the needle cannula is encompassed therein. The shielding member is maintained in the first position against a biasing force which biases the shielding member toward the second position. A fluid and/or a temperature activation material is associated with the shielding member and is adapted to deform upon contact with a fluid medium and/or a certain temperature or temperature range. The fluid medium flowing through the needle cannula causes the fluid activation material to deform, such as through expansion, thereby releasing the shielding member from the first position and allowing a drive member to bias the shielding member toward the second position.
Ultra-low waste needle and syringe system that automatically and passively renders a needle safe during the injection process
A needle and syringe system that provides ultra-low dosage waste and automatic needlestick protection. A syringe assembly is provided that contains a barrel and a plunger. A tubular spacer is disposed in the barrel. A needle head assembly is provided that includes a collar and a needle. A safety slide is positioned between the needle and the collar. The safety slide has a sheathing tube that surrounds part of the needle. The safety slide can move relative the needle. In a first position, the sheathing tube does not extend beyond the sharpened end of the needle. In a second position, the sheathing tube extends beyond the sharpened end of the needle. When advanced, the plunger head moves the tubular spacer. The tubular spacer passes over the base of the needle and presses against the safety slide. The safety slide is moved from the first position to the second position.
Needle exchange system
A system for facilitating exchange of needles on syringes may include a needle exchange device forming a pair of needle sheaths with each needle sheath defining an insertion opening and a channel in communication with the insertion opening to receive at least a portion of a needle device. One of the needle sheaths may be a dispensing needle sheath for dispensing a needle device to be used for the syringe, another one of the needle sheaths being a disposal needle sheath for receiving a needle device to be disposed. The needle exchange device may be elongated along a longitudinal axis with opposite first and second ends. The system may also include a needle device removably positioned in the dispensing needle sheath. The disposal needle sheath and the dispensing needle sheath may be substantially oppositely oriented on the exchange device.
INJECTION NEEDLE HAVING VARYING CALIBER
An injection needle including a guide portion configured to have a first outer diameter, and a delivery portion, configured with a tip to penetrate tissue and deliver a medication, and to have a second outer diameter smaller than the first outer diameter, extending from a distal end of the guide portion, wherein the guide portion is configured to have a bend proximate the distal end such that the delivery portion extends at a predetermined angle from a line of the guide portion opposite the bend. An injection needle including means to scavenge medication and fluids from the patient and procedure site using a suction port, conduct along needle body via conduit, and evacuate to outside of patient suction unit via exit port. A tube may be connected to exit port and connect to external collection unit such as a medical suction device.
Protective device and medical instrument assembly
A protective device, for covering a needle tip of a needle of a medical instrument after puncturing of a puncture object by the needle, includes an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder, and a spring. The outer cylinder receives a cam structure of the inner cylinder and has a guide passage structure that includes one or more guide passages. The outer cylinder is provided with a lateral top part and a distal-end inclined edge part as resistance force generating parts for causing the inner cylinder to generate a resistance force at a puncture position or in the vicinity of the puncture position.
Injector
An injector includes a hollow needle; a main body unit including a needle holding portion that holds the needle; and a protection device configured to cover the needle before and after puncturing a puncture target with the needle. The protection device includes: an inner member attached to the needle holding portion and being freely rotatable around an outer periphery of the needle holding portion; and an outer member configured to (i) cover an order side of the needle and the inner member before puncturing, (ii) expose the needle by moving toward a proximal end side relative to the main body unit at a time of puncturing, and (iii) cover a distal end of the needle by moving toward a distal end side relative to the main body unit after puncturing.
Autoinjectors Having Advanced Release and Sound Features
Autoinjectors and methods of injection are described that feature release mechanisms and/or end-of-dose sound which can operate in conjunction with a powered plunger to efficiently inject a controlled dose from a syringe.
Dental syringe with stabilizer for removable needle
A cartridge syringe system includes a syringe (5). The syringe has a tip-ward direction and a ring-ward direction. The syringe (5) has a syringe body (9) and an actuator ring (7). A shaft (10) slidably mounts the actuator ring (7) to the syringe body (9), with a harpoon (11) at a tip-ward end of the shaft (10). The syringe body (9) has a spiral mount external to the syringe body (9) for removably mounting a sheath (20) to the syringe body (9), on a cooperating internal spiral sheath mount. The syringe body (9) and the sheath have similar openings. The sheath opening can be rotated to coincide with the syringe body opening, for inserting a needle assembly into the syringe body, or for removing the needle assembly. The sheath opening can be rotated to obstruct the syringe body opening, for retaining the needle assembly in the syringe body.
SYRINGE
A syringe is provided, including a syringe barrel, a needle set and a push rod. A front end part is provided in the syringe barrel. An end of the needle set has an open area, the open area is transversely provided with a first snap part. The push rod is slidably disposed within the syringe barrel, and an end of the push rod facing the front end part has a second snap part. When the push rod is slidingly moved to the front end part, the second snap part is engaged with the first snap part.
