EXTRACORPOREAL CIRCULATION BLOOD PUMP AND METHOD THEREOF
20230040593 · 2023-02-09 · ·

An extracorporeal circulation blood pump and a method thereof are provided. A driving motor is driven to operate, and a rotating head rotates, thereby driving a rotator in a pump to rotate, an electromagnet is controlled to produce an axial upward attractive force on the rotator, so that the attraction force is matched with a coupling between driving permanent magnets and driven permanent magnets, and the rotator can rotate without contact in the axial direction. A first radial support permanent magnet and a second radial support permanent magnet are configured to interact with each other to generate a repulsive force, and the rotator can rotate without contact in the radial direction, achieving complete non-contact rotation with a pump housing, so as to enable a complex impeller to rotate without bearing support.

DURABLE IMPLANTABLE NON-OBSTRUCTIVE VENOUS ASSIST DEVICE FOR SUPPORT OF CAVOPULMONARY FONTAN CIRCULATION
20230037926 · 2023-02-09 ·

The circulation assist devices disclosed herein can be used, for example, in methods of decreasing venous pressure in the Fontan circulation. The devices can include an inlet, an outlet, a stator, a rotor, and an impeller driven by rotation of the rotor. In some embodiments, the impeller blade (or blades) can at least partially define a central lumen extending through the device. The device can be coupled to the inferior vena cava and the pulmonary artery. Rotating the impeller blade(s) increases blood velocity through the lumen and causes the outlet pressure to be higher than the inlet pressure. The impeller can be configured such that, when it is stationary, the forward static pressure drop between the inlet and the outlet is minimized. That is, the forward static pressure drop of the device approximates the pressure drop between the inferior vena cava and central pulmonary artery of the unassisted Fontan circulation.

INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMPS, MOTORS, AND FLUID CONTROL
20230043385 · 2023-02-09 · ·

Intravascular blood pumps systems and methods of use. The blood pump system includes a catheter portion, a pump portion, and a motor. The motors may be isolated from a return fluid pathway, and may be adapted to rotate about an axis that is spaced from a rotational axis of a drive shaft.

BLOOD PUMP

Apparatus and methods are described including a blood pump that includes at least one motor configured to be disposed outside a body of a subject, a catheter, a proximal impeller disposed on the catheter and configured to pump blood by rotating, and a distal impeller disposed on the catheter. The distal impeller is configured to pump blood by rotating and is disposed on the catheter distally to the proximal impeller such that longitudinal centers of the proximal and distal impellers are separated from each other by at least 3 cm. Other applications are also described.

PROTECTIVE BRAID FOR BLOOD PUMP

Apparatus and methods are described including a ventricular assist device that includes an impeller disposed within a frame and configured to pump blood through a pump-outlet tube and out of one of more blood outlet openings. The frame includes an inner lining. A protective braid is disposed over a distal portion of the frame and configured to block structures from the subject's left ventricle from entering into the frame. A proximal end of the protective braid is embedded between the pump-outlet tube and the inner lining, such that, during crimping of the frame, the braid becomes crimped with the pump-outlet tube and the inner lining, thereby preventing the braid from moving with respect to pump-outlet tube or the inner lining. Other applications are also described.

Mammalian body conduit intralumenal device and lumen wall anchor assembly, components thereof and methods of implantation and explanation thereof

Transcatheterly implantable mammalian body conduit intralumenal device and lumen wall anchor assembly. Anchor includes: wire network, connector positioning wires having a secured and a released position, and a connector disposed at end of each wire. Anchor has: a compact-secured-configuration, an expanded-secured-configuration, an expanded-released-configuration. When the anchor is in the expanded-secured-configuration, the wire network exerts a force on conduit lumen wall and the connector positioning wires are the in secured position. When the anchor is in the expanded-released-configuration, the connector positioning wires are in the released position, and do not obstruct fluid flow axially through conduit. Device includes an interconnector that allows for the releasable interconnector of the connectors thereto. Device and anchor assembly can be explanted from the conduit. Or, device can be released from the anchor at the implantation site and only the device explanted with the anchor remaining within the conduit.
